!he following are the 'egulations for admission to Post $raduate 6edical "ourses for the academic year 2.10-1- and shall apply to all the 6edical "olleges in A.P. affiliated to %r. &!' (niversity of )ealth *ciences.

NUM8ER OF SEATS/ 1.1 !he number of seats available ?P$ 6edical *eats in $overnment 6edical "olleges and "ompetent Authority @uota seats in (naided &on 6inority Private 6edical "ollegesA in Postgraduate %egree and %iploma courses in each 6edical "ollege are to be in accordance with orders of $overnment of Andhra Pradesh. !he particulars of seats available for the academic year 2.1 -10 in various colleges are given as AnneBure for information of the candidates. !he status of recognisation of P$ 6edical %egree and %iploma courses is available at www.mciindia.org. !he seats for the year 2.10-1- available will be displayed in the (niversity and in the (niversity 9ebsite three days before the date of counseling. 1.2 !he admission into the colleges is sub,ect to the permission by the $overnment of :ndia / 6edical council of :ndia. 1. :n case any new P$ 6edical seats are permitted by $overnment of :ndia / affiliated to the (niversity for the Academic ;ear 2.10-1-# those seats also will be filled up. &8 <('!)3' &8!:<:"A!:8& 9:LL C3 :**(3%. 4.2 STATE-WIDE COURSES/ !he courses at *iddhartha 6edical "ollege# +i,ayawada and 6% ?'!A at 8smania 6edical "ollege# )yderabad are *tate-9ide courses and admission to the courses shall be regulated as per the provisions in the A.P. 3ducational :nstitutions ?'egulation of AdmissionA 8rder# 1740 for *tate-9ide courses as given in AnneBure-:+ of $8 ?PA &o. 202# 3du. ?91A %epartment# dt.1.-4-1747. 4., LOCAL AREA / 0. .1 !he part of the *tate comprising the %istricts of *ri1a1ulam# +iDianagaram# +isa1hapatnam# 3ast $odavari# 9est $odavari# 5rishna# $untur and Pra1asam shall be regarded as the local area for the purposes of admission to the Andhra (niversity# HH? &agar,una (niversityA and to any other education institution ?other than a *tate-wide (niversity or *tate-wide 3ducational :nstitutionA which is sub,ect to the control of the *tate $overnment and is situated in that part. 0. .2 !he part of the *tate comprising the %istricts of Adilabad# )yderabad# 'angareddy# 5arimnagar# 5hammam# 6ahaboobnagar# 6eda1# &algonda# &iDamabad and 9arangal shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to the 8smania (niversity# HH ?the 5a1atiya (niversityA and to any other educational institution ?other than a *tate-wide (niversity or *tate-wide 3ducational :nstitutionA which is sub,ect to the control of the *tate $overnment and is situated in that part. 0. . !he part of the *tate comprising the %istricts of Ananthapur# "uddapah# 5urnool# "hittoor and &ellore shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to *ri +en1ateswara (niversity and to any other educational institution ?other than a *tate-wide (niversity or *tate-wide 3ducational :nstitutionA which is sub,ect to the control of the *tate $overnment and is situated in that part. 4.4 LOCAL CANDIDATES/ 0.0.1 A candidate for admission shall be regarded as local candidate in relation to a local area. iA :f he/she studied in an 3ducational :nstitution or 3ducational :nstitutions in such local area for a period of not less than 0 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared in relevant @ualifying eBamination. or iiA 9here during the whole or any part of the 0 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant @ualifying eBamination# he/she has not studied in 3ducational :nstitutions# if he/she had resided in that local area for a period of not less than 0 years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant @ualifying eBamination# in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared. 0.0.2 A candidate for admission to any course of study who is not regarded as a local candidate under sub-regulation ?0.0.1A above in relation to any local area shall iA :f he/she has studied in educational institutions in the *tate for a period of not less than 4 consecutive academic years ending with academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant @ualifying eBamination be regarded as local candidate in relation toI aA *uch local area where he/she has studied for the maBimum period out of the said period of 4 years. bA 9here the period of his/her study in two or more local areas are e@ual# such local area where he/she has last studied in such e@ual periods or iiA :f during the whole or any part of the seven consecutive academic years ending with academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for relevant @ualifying eBamination# he/she has not studied in the educational institution in any local area# but he/she has resided in the *tate during the whole of the said period of 4 years be regarded as a local candidate in relation to aA *uch local area where he/she has resided for the maBimum period out of the said period of 4 years. ?orA bA 9here the period of his/her residence in two or more local areas are e@ual# such local area where he/she has resided last in such e@ual periods.

E?PLANATION / ?for purpose of this sub-regulationA iA >3ducational :nstitution> means a (niversity or any 3ducational :nstitution recognised by the *tate $overnment# a (niversity or any other "ompetent Authority. iiA >'elevant @ualifying eBamination in relation to admission to any course of study> means the eBamination# a pass in which is the minimum educational @ualification for admission to such course of study.

&8!3: !he relevant @ualifying eBamination for admission to Postgraduate courses is 6CC* eBamination. !he @uestion whether the candidate is a local candidate or not will be determined with reference to his/her first appearance in the Part :: of <inal 6CC* eBamination.
iiiA aA :n rec1oning the consecutive academic years during which a candidate has studied any period of interruption of his/her study by reasons of his/her failure to pass any eBamination and any period of his/her study in a statewide (niversity or a *tatewide 3ducational :nstitution shall be disregarded. bA !he status of candidates who passed 6CC* from *iddhartha 6edical "ollege will be decided basing on their study period prior to their admission into 6CC* course at *iddhartha 6edical "ollege for arriving at the local and non-local status# since it is a *tatewide :nstitution. ivA !he @uestion whether any candidate for admission to any course of study has resided in any local area shall be determined with reference to the places where the candidate actually resided and not with reference to the residence of his/her parent or guardian. 0.- 9hile determining under sub-regulation ?0.1A the number of seats to be reserved in favour of local candidates# any fraction of seat shall be counted as one# provided that there shall be one unreserved seat. 0.2 :f a local candidate in respect of a local area is not available to fill any seats reserved or allocated in favour of local candidate in respect of that local area such seats shall be filled in as if it had not been reserved. 0.4 !he applicant who claims to be local candidate with reference to sub-regulation 0.0.1 ?iA or 0.0.2 ?iA shall produce in the form of study certificate/certificates issued by the )ead of the 3ducational :nstitution / :nstitutions concerned indicating the details of the year or years in which the candidate has studied in educational institution in such local area for a period of not less than 0/4 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the Part-:: of <inal 6CC* eBamination. !hose who did not @ualify as local candidate under sub-regulation 0.0.1 ?iA and 0.0.2 ?iA but claim to @ualify by virtue of residence shall produce a certificate issued by an officer of the 'evenue %epartment not below the ran1 of 6andal 'evenue 8fficer independent charge of *ubtalu1 / 6andal in the form anneBed to $.8.P.&o. 22/# 3ducation dt. 2--4-1740 appended to application form with necessary modification. 0./ !he following categories are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining 1-G of unreserved seats. 0./.1 All candidates defined under sub-regulation ?0.0A of 'egulation-0. 0./.2 "andidates who have resided in the state for total period of ten years eBcluding period of study outside the *tate# or either of those parents have resided in the *tate for a total period of ten years eBcluding period of employment outside the state. 0./. !he candidate for see1ing the benefit of reservation should present him/herself before a 6edical Coard comprising of at least one 3Bpert/*pecialist from the speciality of 8rthopaedics of *tate 6edical Coard and obtain a valid disability certificate from the 6edical Coard having been issued within three months prior to presenting his application for see1ing admission in any medical course by claiming the benefit of reservation. !he 6edical Coard constituted by the (niversity will scrutiniDe / verify the disability certificates and candidates claiming reservation under P) @uota for confirmation of eligibility and the decision of 6edical Coard specially constituted for the purpose is final and binding on the candidates. -. /-G of the available seats in every course of study ?sub,ect/disciplineA shall be reserved in favour of local candidates in relation to the local area. 9hile determining /-G in favour of local candidates any fraction of seat shall be counted as one. -.0 :n so far as seats in *tate 9ide 3ducational :nstitutions and 6% ?'!A seats available in 8smania 6edical "ollege shall be filled up in accordance with Para 2 of $.8.6s.&o.0- # $eneral Administration ?*P<-PA %epartment# dated . -.4-1740. -.- R*+*r9$%-!0 1!r I0-S*r9-6* C$0'-'$%*+/ -.-.1 Admission of in-service candidates shall be limited to the percentage of seats as envisaged in $.8.6s.&o.22.# )6 E <9 ?32A %ept.#dt.1.-4-1774 and as amended from time to time by $overnment. -.-.2 !he percentage of reservation for service candidates shall be as per the orders of the $overnment of A.P. issued from time to time. -.-.
