When you view Labradorite, and turn it around in the light, you can see a range of colors from vibrant blue, gold, orange, yellow, violet and green. It often appears grey or dark green color if viewed in dim light. Sometimes you can see all of those colors at the very same time! The color display is from lamellar intergrowths inside the crystal. These intergrowths result from compatible chemistries at high temperatures becoming incompatible at lower temperatures and thus a separating and layering of these two phases. The resulting color effect is caused by a ray of light entering a layer and being refracted back and forth by deeper layers. The crystal form is transparent to translucent and found imbedded in gabbros and other mafic igneous rocks of low silica content. The darker kind is often called "black moonstone" and has bluish inclusions. When you polish labradorite is called labradorescence.

It is a variety of plagioclase feldspar which is found in igneous rocks. Spectrolite, the most valued type of labradorite, is found in Finland. Labradorite is usually cut with a flat surface to highlight its bright colors. Originally it was found along the coast of Labrador in 1770. Today, it is also found in Newfoundland, and other parts of Canada, Mexico, the USA, the Ukraine, and the Ural mountains. Labradorite name is derived from Labrador which is the main and original source of the Canadian variety of this feldspar stone. Chemistry: Ca(50-70%) Na(50-30%) (Al, Si)AlSi2 O8, Calcium sodium aluminum silicate. Class: Silicates Subclass: Tectosilicates Group: Feldspars Fracture is conchoidal. Index of refraction is 1.55 - 1.75. Hardness is 6 - 6.5. Specific Gravity is approximately 2.70 - 2.74 (average) Associated Minerals are biotite, pyroxene and hornblende. In sliced sections of rock, the labradorite appears as blocky chunks with a predominance of near right angled corners. Twinning is common so that in labradorite it produces a layered or stacked effect. The twin layers are typically only fractions of millimeters to several millimeters thick.

Those fractures and the resulting lines are energetic pathways that within the energy matrix of labradorite, create easy escapes for negativity and stress to stream away from you. These run in vertical, horizontal and diagonal directions providing an incredible system of clearing away density and ick!

Look at the shimmery blue and the salmon color together with the browns and there are greens in many samples of Labradorite. There are so many colors that exist in the Higher Realms that we cannot perceive with our human eyes. There are so many colors that higher vibrations of Eternal Light can reveal that light witnessed in this 3 dimensional environment cannot sustain. Colors are light vibrating at specific frequencies. Those vibrations are movements that can accomplish very specific purposes and tasks. The colors that Labradorite displays are hints to some of its spiritual attributes. The fracture lines you see also provide a wonderful linking of things together that may not normally connect. This is another gift your Labradorite Sphere brings you that your Higher Self will activate. There are shifts your body needs to make so that more of who you are from your soul level can descend into your body and harmonize well together.

Labradorite Sphere is very good at providing that linkage at even the deep cellular level so that your body will confidently accept the changes that the you from your soul level will require of it. Let us say, for example, that when more of who you are from your soul level arrives into your body, additional skills and abilities arrive too. That will likely mean that you will be doing different activities than you regularly do now. You will be requiring different things of your muscles. Your mind will be used in different ways. You may even want to eat different foods. If some of your abilities are of a spiritual or psychic nature, you will channel or hold different energies in your body. You may even be working with the elemental energies here on Earth in stronger ways than you did before. If your body is not prepared to accept these new energies and given a way to harmonize and integrate them into the deepest part of your physicality, there could be some unpleasant side effects.
