YoumustcontactthenearestIndustrialEducationDivisionalofficetomakerequesttowritethe
IPRedSealexam(SeeAppendixAforalistofregionaloffices).Uponapproval,theProgram
DevelopmentOfficer(PDO)willnotifyyouofyoureligibilitytowritetheexam,andprovideyou
withschedulinginformation.Ifyourequirespecialaccommodationsduetoadisabilityor
languagebarrier,pleasecontactyourregionalofficeforinformationonapplyingforthis
service.

andLabradordriverslicense
yournotificationletter

Thefollowingwillbeprovided:

Resultswillbemailedtoyouapproximatelyseventotendaysaftercompletionoftheexam.All
necessaryinstructionsandinformationwillbeprovidedintheresultsletter.

Thepercentagemarkyouobtainedwillbeprovided.Youwillalsobegivenasectionbysection
breakdown,showinghowmanyquestionswereineachsection,aswellasthenumberof
questionsineachsectionyoucompletedsuccessfully.

Ifyouaresuccessfulinobtaininga70%ormoreonyourexam,youwillbeissueda
NewfoundlandandLabradorCertificateofQualificationwithaRedSealendorsement.

ExamFormat

AllIPRedSealexamsarewritteninmultiplechoiceformat.Eachexamhasbetween100and
150questions.Amultiplechoicequestionconsistsofastem(acompletequestion)followedby
fouroptions(A,B,C,D).Thestemcontainsalltheinformationnecessarytoanswerthe
question.Theoptionsconsistoftheonecorrectanswerandthreedistracters.Distracters
areincorrect.(SeeAppendixCforasampleanswersheet).
