Assignment for HWQ2 to be given on Thursday, Sep 26:

Reading assignment is from Lathi's text, chapters 6 and 7. Scan sections 6.1 and 6.2. Study section
6.3 but skip example 6.8. Scan section 6.4. We will primarily focus on the exponential version of the
Fourier series. However, you need to be able to convert a trigonometric series to an exponential series
and vice versa. Download the "Symmetry Properties" sheet and bring it with you to class. You may
refer to it during quizzes. In Lathis text, Chapter 7: scan/read section 7.1. Study section 7.2 but just
scan section 7.2-1; study sections 7.3 through 7.6

Problems from Chapter 6, Lathis book. In each case, you need do only the parts of the
problem for which an answer is given below. Be sure to take maximum advantage of
symmetry in evaluating D
n
. You may bring with you and use during the quiz the sheet
summarizing symmetry properties. Some handy integrals appear on page 50-51 of the
text. You may refer to these pages during the homework quiz.
