INTRODUCTION Apple Computers 30 year old history is full of highs and lows, which is what we would expect from

a highly innovative company. Apple has made several hugely popular products over the years.(Some of which we use too!). (But do you know that), theyve also completely fallen on their face several times! They struggled mightily while Steve Jobs(one of its co-founders) was not a part of if the organization. Apple reached a point where many thought they wouldnt survive. When asked in 1997 what Jobs should so as head of Apple, Dells thenCEO said in an interview (that) : Id shut down Apple and give back the money to the shareholders. Well, times changed. Less that 15 years later, Business week ranked Apple as the top performer in the year 2012, in view of the sales of the much in demand iPod music players (79 million units in 2011). Apple (as we know) rarely introduces a new type of product. Thus, instead of being the pioneer, they are an expert second mover by refining existing products. Portable music players and notebook computers are examples. Apple increases the appeal of their products by making them stylish and functional.
