GENERAL The emergency lighting system & all its components shall be designed & installed to meet the Local authority requirements & the respecti e EN !01"# and the system designed in compliance $ith EN!01"1% EN!0#"#&#% EN!01"#% and EN1'(' standards applicable to this pro)ect. Emergency lighting shall *ul*ill the *ollo$ing *unctions% +lluminate the escape routes +ndicate the escape route direction clearly ,ro ide the E-it signs on all the E-its ,ermit operations concerned $ith sa*ety measures & to shut do$n the ha.ardous process Each emergency supply panel shall be used *or supply automatic testing and monitoring o* up to (# o* Escape route% E/+T and sa*ety luminaires on each circuit. ,anel 0hall automatically update ne$ lights a*ter ne$ lamps are installed The panel shall ha e *ollo$ing electrical characteristics1 +nput 2oltage 1 ##0&#30 A4 1,h or ( ,h 5utput mains 1 ##0&#30 2 A4 5utput Emergency 1 #16 2 74 Emergency 7uration 1 Three 8(9 hours The number o* emergency lighting system panels shall be appropriately decided *or ma-imum reliability to ensure continued emergency supply and *ailure o* one panel shall not result in total emergency lighting supply *ailure *or the entire building. The system supplier shall be authori.ed distributor o* the equipment% maintaining a local sta** o* *actory&trained personnel *or Engineering assistance% installation and maintenance o* such equipment in compliance $ith the requirements o* the abo e mentioned EN standards.

0:0TE; 7E04R+,T+5N ;echanical 4onstruction The panels enclosure shall be made o* sheet steel housing +,#0 $ith separate rac< or enclosures *or batteries to maintain the sa*ety distance o* the battery according to EN!0#"#&#. 4olour *inish o* the panel $ill be $hite *or housing. ,anel shall be suitable *or sur*ace $all mounting. ,anel shall ha e a scre$ *itted *ront door o* li*t a$ay type% $ith *ront *acia *or status indication. =atteries to be mounted on suitable rac<> enclosure *or easy maintenance o* the batteries.

#.#.1 4hangeo er ;odule 0ystem shall be built up in a modular *ormat $ith all units being plug @in @type change o er modules. Each changeo er module shall ha e ' outputs o* min #!0A each or # outputs o* ma- 1300A each. +t shall be possible to connect each output circuit as maintained or non&maintained $ithout any programming required. 4hangeo er module shall ha e integrated transcei er circuit% $hich allo$s up to (# addressable luminaires in each circuit. Each changeo er module communicates $ith the control module through the internal data bus. All out going circuit shall be protected $ith independent *uses. The unit shall not ha e a *loating 74 circuit and shall not require separate changeo er relays *or both L>748B9 and N>748&9. #.#.# =attery 4harger 4harger module shall be controlled by the micro processor o* the control module. There shall be automatic boost charge% cyclic charge and tric<le charge *acility *or *ull battery capacity use and ma-imum battery li*e. The charger shall ha e built&in deep discharge protection *or long battery li*e. There shall be a 7+,&s$itch *or setting the ma-imum charging current% according to the battery capacity. The system shall ha e temperature sensor at the battery *or automatic charging oltage ad)ustment. Cuse protection shall be pro ided. The charger shall be designed *or a '0D recharge o* a *ully discharged battery $ithin 1# hours% as required by EN !01"1. #.#.( 4ontrol ;odule 4ontrol ;odule shall ha e the *ollo$ing LE7 indications1 Mains Operation, Battery Operation, Battery Overvoltage, Battery Under voltage, Deep Discharge, Recharge, Current Limit, Battery Fault, Internal Fault, Battery Test Running, Luminaire Test Running, Internal Fault, !ternal Fault, Circuit "um#er and Luminaire "um#er$ There shall be an o$n LE7 indicator *or each luminaire in the same circuit pro iding simultaneous status in*ormation o* the luminaires by a single ie$ $ith corresponding group 8circuit9 number indicating on the segment display.

4ontrol ;odule shall ha e the *ollo$ing 2olt *ree contact1 +nternal Cault =attery mode operation E-ternal Cault The control module o* the panel shall ha e three main *unctions1 & monitor and control all test cycles and *unctions. & +ndicate e ery status o* the system and the connected luminaire & communicate $ith the addressable electronic ballast on e ery sla e luminaire. Each panel shall ha e push buttons *or =attery Test% Luminaire Test and Cault Alarm Reset. The panel shall ha e the option o* an integrated printer to be *itted on it. The emergency supply panel shall super ise the battery status such as =attery 5 er oltage > =attery ?nder oltage. 4harging *ailure shall be indicated as an +nternal *ault by an indicator LE7 and potential *ree relay contact. The unit shall be *itted $ith a deep discharge protection circuit% $hich has t$o operation phases1 Ahen in battery mode the battery oltage decreases to 1E!2% a preliminary deep discharge alarm shall be gi en. Ahen the battery oltage decreases to 1"(2% the load shall be disconnected. The circuit shall allo$ the battery to increase its oltage $ithout s$itching the load 5N again% thus a oiding detrimental *ull discharge. The panel shall automatically return to normal operation% once the mains supply reco ers. #.#.3 E-it Light Clashing 5peration The maintained E-it lights shall be able to operate in Clashing ;ode 8;omentary 5N>5CC9. As per NC,A 101 ".10.!.#.#1 +llumination *or signs shall be permitted to *lash on and o** upon acti ation o* the *ire alarm system. =ased on the control signal *rom Cire Alarm 0ystem or actuating de ice% the E-it lights shall *lash to dra$ the attention to$ards the Escape Route in case o* a Fone Cire Alarm or similar situation. (.0 Local 4ontrollers Local controllers should be connected to e ery circuit to monitor local normal lighting 7=s and s$itch on the non&maintained luminaries during 7= supply *ailure. There shall be no separate data cabling required bet$een the local controllers% luminaries and panels. All necessary data trans*er shall ta<e place through the standard po$er supply cabling o* the luminaires. 4ontinuous monitoring o* the lighting sub distribution panels shall be made by Local 4ontroller units% each ha ing (&phase monitoring input. Each circuit shall ha e its o$n Local 4ontroller so that a possible *ailure o* a single controller does not a**ect the other circuits. The non&maintained luminaires at sub distribution panel area shall be lit during a local supply *ailure. Go$e er the emergency supply

panel shall not s$itch to battery use as long as its o$n mains supply is a ailable. The Local 4ontrollers should comply to EN 61(3"&#&111#001 in con)unction $ith EN 61(3"&11#001. 3.0 0$itch 4ontrollers 0$itch controller modules shall be pro ided to allo$ emergency luminaires to be used *or general lighting purpose $ith 5N & 5CC s$itch operations ia s$itches% lighting control system% etc $here necessary. 0$itch controllers shall be *ully compatible $ith the Local 4ontrollers !.0 4ENTRAL ;5N+T5R+NG The 0ystem shall ha e central monitoring so*t$are and the entire emergency lighting system shall be controlled and monitored *rom a single point using standard personal computer and simultaneously% the system shall also ha e a single =A4net gate$ay *or inter*ace $ith =uilding management system. Collo$ing *unctions shall be done by using the 4entral monitoring ,4. & Luminaire test o* all or selected emergency supply panels. & 6.0 =attery test o* all or selected emergency supply panels.

0la e Emergency & E-it Luminaire LE7 Type Emergency luminaires shall be non&maintained type sla e luminaires $ith long li*e and high e**iciency LE7 light source and sel*&testing addressable electronics% $hich can communicate $ith central control module. LE7s shall be o* sur*ace mounted type $ith proper heat sin<. +t is not allo$ed to use *ree standing LE7s $here the heat is conducted only through the connection leads. Electronics shall supply the LE78s9 $ith constant current% $hich shall be regulated against supply oltage ariations. Aith the constant current po$er supply *eature% the light output should be maintained more than E0D till the end o* three hours battery bac< up. The indication o* the correct operation shall rely on the actual light output o* the LE78s9% so that an e-cessi e degradation o* the light output is also detected. ;anu*acturer is demanded to sho$ a proo* that the speci*ied light output le els are maintained *or minimum o* " years. +t shall be possible to connect both maintained and non&maintained luminaires to the same output circuit. The luminaire shall ha e sheet steel or plastic polycarbonate housing and plastic polycarbonate or ,;;A lens *or e en light distribution. The supply connector shall be arranged to pro ide a possibility *or both ingoing and outgoing cable to enable looped cabling bet$een the luminaires $ithout separate )unction bo-es. & & +t shall be maintained type luminaire ;inimum ie$ing distance ## meters

Address ;odules All general light *ittings con erted into emergency lights shall be connected to the manu*acturerHs address modules up to #00 $atts. The address modules should comply to EN 61(3"&#&111#001 in con)unction $ith EN 61(3"&11#001. The general luminaries must be *itted $ith electronic ballast $ith the *ollo$ing *eaturesI +t must be able to operate $ith both A4 and 74 oltage% +t must shut itsel* o** in an e ent o* a lamp *ailure% input current in shut o** mode must be less than 10mA & must ha e 4onstant po$er output high *requency electronic control gear> trans*ormer. The 4=0 manu*acturer should pro ide electronic ballast $ith the abo e *eatures on request.

=atteries The batteries shall be maintenance *ree 2RLA sealed lead acid gas recombination type $ith a minimum design li*e o* 10 years at pre ailing ambient temperature. They shall ha e e-tremely lo$ gas generation% lo$ sel*&discharge and ha e permanently sealed pressure release ents. 4are shall be ta<en to store>install these batteries in areas% $hich are *ree o* prolonged e-treme temperatures. The batteries shall be si.ed to po$er complete system *or ( hours *ollo$ing mains *ailure at 100D light output o* all emergency lamps or "!D on sla e luminaries.
