HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 19-21; Mark 11 Monday, March 10 Luke 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. Mighty Master and Lord: So many of my friends, like __________ and __________, ought to know you already, because they have heard the gospel good news so often. They have heard me witness to them or others, yet they have not discovered you. Have I seen you lately like I should? Have I been to your table at communion, and yet not really beheld you there? I am in a dark trouble, and you plainly say, John 6:20 It is I; be not afraid. Yet I very often do not perceive you in my rough providences. I think maybe my eyes are holden, perhaps just as much as those of my lost friends. I have read your word and leaned on your promises, and though you are very near to me through your Spirit, I still catch myself saying, Job 23:3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! I pray for myself, and for __________ to know you also. I have the Bible to reflect your image. Give me a glimpse of the Wellbeloved in your word! Why do I not see you? It must be said of me as well as of your disciples (and of the lost): because of unbelief. It is when I do not expect to see you that I do not know you. To a great degree, spiritually, I get exactly what I expect. Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. Faith alone can bring my lost friends to you. Lord, open their eyes and open my eyes to see you present with me! The promise is that if we seek we will find. Fulfill that promise for Jesus sake. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 28-30; Mark 13 Thursday, March 13 Num. 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 22-24; Mark 12:1-22 Tuesday, March 11 Luke 23:27-28 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. O, My Sacred Sufferer: The wailing wall of women touched the tenderest heart present, the heart of One whose ear was sensitively tuned to any sound of sorrow. You did not answer Herod a word, and you gave Pilate only a glancing reply. Amid all the mockeries and travesties you were silent as a sheep before shearers. Yet as you passed those people you looked at the weeping women and broke the silence. You blessed them with a farewell sermonettea prophecy to a world rejecting you. Weep not for me, but weep for yourselves. Only a few hours before you set the example (Matt. 23:37). How selfless it was! As if all your thoughts were taken-up with a grief other than your own. You would not have a tear wasted on you, but instead spend them on woes that hurt you more than your own pain. Your sorrow was well-deserved to be wept over, but you were not overcome by it. Am I overcome by mine? Dear Jesus! There is no cowardly spirit, no admission of defeat, no appeal for pity, no shadow of petty resentment in all your final acts. Please Sir! Will you not save me from these things when I am in distress? Fire me with the majestic consciousness of strength like you had. You dried the tears that were flowing for you, and redirected their torrents toward unrepentant sinners. Oh! Lord, give me the courage of these women. To espouse your cause amid the coarse cries of Crucify him! was courage more than manly. Those ladies were heroines of love. Only your disinterested unselfishness propelled you to say, Spare your griefs for others sorrows. Help me now, Lord, to do the same. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 31-34; Mark 14:1-24 Friday, March 14 Psa. 68:35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. We Present Ourselves Before You, Our King: We pay our reverence and homage in front of your throne in prayer. You alone are God, and our hearts worship you passionately. Help our adoration grow, because we are less than nothing and you are all in all. We confess our many sins with self-abhorrence. Forgive your servants our lukewarmness, and revive our light once again. Let each of us feel like we need to seek you for fresh power. May every child of God in our church know how he or she can be anointed for your service in everyday activities. Oh that we might be certain we are fulfilling your willby your word and in your way! Rom. 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Being justified by faith, give us peace and power in the Holy Ghost. Heal us of any wounds we receive in this great conflict. Some of us are in the very thick of the battle. Many temptations gather round us daily. Teach us to pray, Matt. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: If we get dirty, put it away. If we get dust on our feet in contact with the world, wash them blessed Master. Cleanse us through the water of your word! If our shield of faith suffers damage or our hope is not so bright, or if our love to you is not as fervent and hot and passionate as it once was, draw near to the warrior now and refresh us! If any soul is sinking under the pressure of the fight, relieve us! Have mercy on our marriages. Bring faithfulness to our families. Strengthen every single. Your every word is music, and your every promise a healing balm. Put the enemy beneath our feet today for Jesus sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 25-27; Mark 12:23-44 Wednesday, March 12 John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Holy Father: Sometimes the winds themselves are still. So if I walk in your Spirit and rest on your Spirit, I cannot always expect to feel his power. But I thank you Lord, I can always know his presence. What could I do without his influence? I owe every forward movement of my life to him. Grant Lord that it might continue both for me, for our church, and for our missionaries! Many a blessing has been lost when I have not recognized your stillness as a blessing. Help me not pre-judge what you have accomplished before I am willing to call it a success. I look to you, and not to my programs or plans. John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. Lord Jesus, because you went up to your Father, you sent down the Holy Spirit. I recognize now in prayer that unless I honor your Spirit today I will not see him manifested in my life. Let me confess every day before I leave that I need your Spirits assistance. And if the Spirit does not blow, then let me lie still, because I depend on him. Let me walk in him, but not move without him. Micah 2:7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? Whatever your Spirit was at the first, so I believe he is right now. What you did in ancient days you are still well able to do. Your power is not diminished over the centuries. I need not expect and do not desire the physical miracles, but I both desire and expect spiritual wonders, and to obtain your power to reach the lost. Make it so today, as I desperately depend on your word. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 1-3; Mark 14:25-58 Saturday, March 15 Psa. 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant. Merciful Father: Not only have you sanctified my heart, but also enlightened my eyes. I often want to choose my own way; how much better when you direct my choice. You never violate my will, but you instruct it so I can choose what pleases you. Phil 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I have learned by grace both to abound and to be empty, to suffer and yet be at ease, because the secret of the Lord is with them that fear him. I have confidential intimacy and special fellowship. Carnal minds cannot even guess at what God intends by their trials. Spiritual believers may not be able to put it into words, but they know, because we have been initiated into the fellowship of the skies. Thank you Lord, for showing me the designs of your love in your word, and for leading me by your Spirit into the hidden mysteries thereof. I dont have to open a commentary; I need only look to the cross. Help me add to the look of faith the look of obedience, and to the look of hope the look of ministry. Let me add today the humble look of reverence and the tender look of love, and let my eyes never turn from you no matter what I face today. The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses (Psa. 25:15). I turn to you, so I need not fear you will ever turn from me. When trouble fills my heart, let me use it as an argument for deliverance. Psa. 25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. That is the source of all my difficulties. I am sicker from sin than from pain. Remove them for Jesus sake, for I would rather be forgiven than healed. Amen.

IF when you give Him the best of your service,

Telling the world that the Savior has come. Be not dismayed if men dont believe you, Hell understand and say, Well done. Misunderstood the Savior of sinners, Died on the cross, He was Gods only son. O hear him calling His father in heaven, Let not my will, but thine be done. But if you try and fail in your trying, Hands sore and scarred from the work youve begun Take up your cross and run quickly to meet him, Hell understand and say, Well done. Oh when I come to the end of my journey, Weary of life and the battle is won. Bearing the staff and the cross of redemption, Hell understand and say, Well done.

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

# INTERCEDE WITH GOD # INSTRUCT SAINTS # PROMPT PETITIONS # KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God) ! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of walking with us) ! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in the Word)

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
