To Whom It May Concern

It is my immense pleasure to recommend one of my best students, Laura Maria Manea, for admission into your academic programme. As her form tutor and also her English teacher for four years, I have watched Maria develop both academically and personally into a mature individual ready in every way for her university years. I came to know Maria Manea in the autumn of 2010, while teaching in her bilingual (EnglishFrench) class and she gave me a deep impression of her zeal not only for English grammar, literature and English culture and civilisation (the specialities of her school profile), but also for any other subject studied in a highschool where the requirements are one of the most challenging. In order to acquire a good amount of knowledge and the teachers respect, she has proved to be a hard- working, dedicated student and a take-charge person able to successfully develop plans and implement them. Most of the activities held in our school involve academic projects and exchanges not only between different subjects and fields, but also between our college and other schools. Maria took part in many of them as a resourceful, creative and solution-oriented person who was able to come up with new and innovative approaches to her assigned projects. She chose to take on difficult topics and handled them well. Her assignments were well-written, well-supported, organized, neat, and timely. In fact, I cannot remember an instance in which she didnt do her task properly or when she missed a deadline of any kind of school project she was involved in. As an English teacher, I mostly praise her successful participation in the contests of the English language. It was evident that Maria really desired to learn more and challenge herself. Maria also has interests outside of academics. Apart from being an active member of our Debate Club, she has also spent considerable time involved in the community. This has included work with a Peace Corps Volunteer in 2010 and 2011, rearranging the school garden together with other school mates and volunteering at one of our area's most important organization. On the interpersonal side, Maria has superior written and verbal communication skills. Eager to share, but just as eager to learn, she challenged the rest of the class to consider issues from new perspectives and often asked very penetrating and important questions. She was able to mix her outstanding leadership and a clear sense of purpose with an easygoing and friendly, yet not dominating personality. In addition, her remarkable manners, her very respectful attitude and her friendly and helpful behaviour made her highly appreciated as both a person and a student, by classmates and teachers alike. Far from being the kind of person who is unsure which field to pursue, Maria has made clear to us all that her dream is to study Public Relations. When she told me her desire to study abroad, I expressed full support and encouraged her to work hard for her goal. I feel very confident that she will be extremely successful in all his future endeavour and one of the most promising students in your academic programme. As a teacher I greatly appreciate such an energetic and inquisitive, diligent and clever student. Since her classmates, my fellow teachers, and I will always hold her in the highest esteem, I highly recommend Maria Manea as the ideal candidate for matriculation at your university. It would be a great pleasure for me to see her continuing her studies at your school. Therefore I

hope you will lend her a helping hand with her application. If you have any questions regarding her reference, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
