this way is simple and quick,it will have the prl of your choice on your phone in a few minutes. i have included all files you will need (except your prl) you need to be jailbroken for this to work. [hide-thanks] 1- download the diskaid file to pc. 2, rename your prl to 310VZW.prl and place it in a folder on your pc 3, open diskaid, plug your phone,when it shows up navigate on diskaid to /system/library/carrier bundles/iphone/310vzw or zeppelin_us.bundle it doesnt matter which,they both write back to each other. there you will see the 310VZW.prl file. 4, now open the file you renamed with your prl and simply drag and drop the one you rename onto the one thats in the diskaid window and click overwrite to the warning that pops up,it will overwrite it,then close all that out,the rest is done on the device. 5,open cydia via wi-fi and tap manage/sources/edit/add then type this new source in sinfuliphonerepo.com then click add source. then click ok to the warning it throws. after it updates click return to cydia tap the new source you just added and scroll down to iFile C racked then tap install,then confirm,then go to it on your springboard open it & navagate to /system/library/carrier bundles/iphone/310vzw or zeppelin_us.bundle tap which ever one you choose to open it,tap carrier plist,then tap property list viewer, then scroll down to just below the signatures to prlpushflag and switch the boolean to show on. tap done. 6, power off phone,then back on. 7, then go back to the boolean we just changed,and change it to off again, 8, then power iphone 4 back off,and then on again. done. check by dialing *#5005*4357# then send below is diskaid-[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) [/hide-thanks] oh and i highly recommend while your in the sin-i-repo to install mi-wi cracked for your free hotspot,and TethrMe C racked for your apn's (cellular data network tab) for free also. thats it enjoy!

ive tried this with 4399 and 42900 prl neither stick, am I supposed to do anything else on disk aid other then when it asks to overwrite and say yes? I did the whole thing 3 times to see if i missed anything

I did the whole thing 3 times to see if i missed anything its not working on some phones,i got one that would'nt work a couple of days ago and just got it working today. i restored to fresh snowbreeze 4.2.6 first,but i think it will work without restoring,i mean depending on what you've done up to here. i think if you uninstall any tetherme app or any other thether type of app and then reinstall it, i used TetherMe C racked from sinfuliphonerepo.com i just restored and installed TMC ,restarted and then try to write again,and it was now working. i tried before on this phone on 3 different pc's, xp &win7, different cables,you name it,nothing worked,prl remained. but that got it to write this time. if when you switch the boolean it does not loose signal after the first reboot you might as well stop and restart. let me know if it works for you,i cant retry until i get another one that wont take it.

thanks whitey where I'm still kind of lost when it comes to how to do this I guess this is over my head as of now but I'm going to attempt to fix that so sorry for the questions. First how do you change the prl name before you plug in the phone and what exactly are you renaming whatever it is your saying to rename for, shouldn't you be renaming it to a cricket prl not the vzw prl. Also when I did plug the iphone on and started looking for the next steps which are "/system/library/carrier bundles/iphone/310vzw or zeppelin_us.bundle it doesnt matter which,they both write back to each other." I cant seem to find this on the diskaid I guess i'm doing something wrong any help would be appreciated.

I cant seem to find this on the diskaid I guess i'm doing something wrong any help would be appreciated. change the name by right clicking on the prl.--if you deviate from the guide,it will not work.just do like it says,it is right.with diskaid you first look for / that symbol is the name of the directory,then you go to system then go to library thgen go to carrier bundles and so on.

Even simpler way is just to activate your viphone on cricket and dial *22804 and just wait til it finish. ( you can be on the $45 or $55). If you want to go back to verizon just dial *22801 and hit 1. Thanks me later :)

a tip for you and the ota programming is you will have to try it more than once. it has taken me sometimes 10 or 12 try's before success. when you dial it and it hangs up right away it is because it needs to roam for it to work,(verizon does not work with *2804,only *228)so watch the signal bar,and after you call and it hangs up signal will be lost for a few seconds,that is your oppertunity to call it again (quickly) and get it to roam to complete the call.

Oo Montreechai I use verizon iphone 4. I did ESN added to MetroPC S already. $20 I dial *228 then press 2 to update roaming capability, then wait until it's done. Then next????? Please.....

dude the prl is a file not a code.they have a number to identify them and the number tells the capability or what the prl is for,some are roaming some evdo ect.if you "put anything in this file" your are gonna f**k it

up.it is simple,just follow the directions i wrote,dont add anything or take anything away or it will not work. really it is a simple procedure for this phone,i can do it in a minute or so,a first timer should be able to do it in 10. i might suggest for you to check out this [Only registered and activated users can see links] and the other couple of basics write ups to get a better understanding of phone flashing.

thanks rich I have no issues with the directions sorry for the inconvience I am accustomed to writing code and webpage development not cell phones this is all new to me, my problem is finding a prl code that is indictive to the cincinnati area. I have found so many codes and downloaded a zip file with about 100 of them i'm trying to make sure I have the correct one

for iphone 4 use the 42600 prl.it is a nationwide ev prl so it will work for you and is posted in the cricket prl thread here in the forum.

I used *22807 and voila it worked perfect. Still having some problem with text like last time. I think the code is regional. You guys think. My buddy says he's gonna work on the text and for me to give him a ring manana. Ill let you know if i find any new stuff.

sometimes it takes several minutes to boot up.if it really is stuck try hard reset.(hold home and pwr until it flashes off and then back on.then release) if that does not work you should try to kick it out of recovery with tiny umbrella,it is posted here in the forum,or last but not least if all else fails you will have to recover it in itunes.

Oo Montreechai tried hard reset, recovery with itunes but all failed. Now I cant even recovery or restore with itunes (error 1013) will try tiny umbrella (haven't seen yet) thank you so much for your help.

does not make any difference what the prl is.you need to use ireb 4.1 first to enter pwnd dfu mode and then shift click restore in itunes and then select your ipsw and it will work. but really i think if you kick it out of recovery with tiny umbrella i think you will be ok.always use itunens restore as a last resort. let us know how you get along.

I had the same problem when I screwed my iPhone up it took a while to restore. I had the 1013 error popping up also. C ould be cable,connection, Itunes version. Here's what i did. I switched from my laptop (which accessed the internet via connecting to my router wirelessly) to my desktop which was connected to router via ethernet. My desktop also had an older version of itunes(I think just the very previous one). Put it in DFU mode, not recovery, make sure you know difference. But I had to use the option of itunes checking for update and restoring from Apple with 4.2.7 firmware. this worked and got me to a working UNActivated iphone on Verizon. then I found how to jailbreak 4.2.7 with new redsnow, a good copy of 4.2.6 firmware and following istructions that I found from link around this forum that leads to youtube vid on HOWTO. After the jailbreak completed Had to go in C ydia and add pushfix.info repo. Through this repo I installed i installed Verizon Untether for 4.2.7 package and bang it was untethered jailbroke. then I spent hours trying to get it on cricket. Finally walked into local dealer and he told me to dial *22807(keep in mind I had already made the ESN live with C ricket service. When i dialed *22807 I got the "Welcome to C ricket" OTA programming. Bam its on C ricket again. weird thing though is I can text to other carriers this time and some of them receive the texts where as last time I couldn't send or receive to any other carrier but cricket. I still can't receive from any other carrier than cricket though. I think I'll have most the answers for my iPhone tomorrow and Ill share. Hope it will help some peeps.

Oo Montreechai Now I can restore my iphone4 using iTunes. I change from iMac to MacbookPro. I'd like to start it over but I don't know how I can find a working MetroPC S prl file.

1. I jailbreak iPhone4 Verizon using Redsnow 2. I activated to Vderizon 3. I have someone add MEID to MetroPC S inventory, charged $20. 4. I tried to activate to MetroPC S online in its website but didn't work. 5. So I call a Metro C S. She helped me activate new account, give me a new number then she asked me to try a test call. I said I don't know how to activate the device. When she knew it's iPhone4, she had no idea about it and told me to go to a corporate store. 6. After ESN added to MetroPC S, Verizon account is dead, saying there's error verification. I can't use the phone now. 7. I follow instructions from this thread. I got a prl file from MetroPC S's PRL thread. 8. Nothing happens, still got no signal from MetroPC S. C heck PRL still 55607 or something. C an I send it to you????

i am not in a metro market so my metro knowledge is limited to what i have heard/read,the easy way to write it is to ota,if you cant you can write it manually,first you need the correct prl in it.did you follow the guide to write your prl with diskaid?

Hey Rich got a question I got rid of the first iphone 4 I did and grabbed another to do it again and I ran into a problem I did it just like before but I had an issue with the phone taking the prl code it wouldn't accept on the phone it keeps keeping the verizon prl code any suggestions

i think if you delete any tether app and program then resart and retry,if still no then reinstall TetherMe then restart and give it a try again. i think that will work for you there is a step by step for this hear in the iphone forum.the search window should bring it up.let me know if you need it and cant find it.

rename it to .ipsw and make sure that winrar or whatever your using does not stick the .zip back on it. then use ireb first to enter pwnd dfu mode then shift click restore in itunes and select your file.might not work unless you use a custom ipsw file instead of a stock one. there is a custom 4.2.6 ipsw i made posted in the iphone forum if you need. also use a different browser to dl ipsw other than ie like for instance use firefox or safari. ie does not handle the file correctly and will result in a unusable ipsw

I tried it but wouldn't allow me to downgrade goes all the way up to authenticating with itunes/ apple and then gives me an error message saying that I am not allowed to downgrade. I also tried jailbreaking it and caching apples signature server so that it would think that the phone would think it's communicating with apple but is really communicating with cydia the instructions I followed are as follows a server that duplicates the functionality exposed by Apple's signature server, except using "on file" results rather than live requests. All we need, then, is to make iTunes use it. Luckily, most operating systems also have the ability to locally define bypasses on specific hostnames through a file called hosts. Using this, we can redirect requests to Apple's signature server to C ydia. So, open the file C :\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows) or /etc/hosts (Mac OS X) and add the following entry to the bottom of the file. 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com I used this and had no such luck but the phone is jailbroken would the steps from before i.e. on the first page of this thread work for 4.2.8 to rewrite the prl to flash it?

yes it will work for 4.2.8 however one thing is missing from that guide on changing the host file,you need to remove all other appe addys from the bottom,anything that says .gs.apple so you only leave one also you need to use administer priv. to do it. when done go back and check to make sure it saved. but having said that i may be wrong but i believe you wont be able to downgrade without using a custom ipsw,the stock one wont work. and are you using ireb first?

Yea i used snowbreeze to jailbreak it cydia downloaded fine....and if I can flash it on 4.2.8 i'm not worried about downgrading the only purpose to downgrade was to duplicate the exact circumstances that I had before on the first iphone I flashed with out any problems.......if I follow the instructions on the first page will this work or do I need to change the signatures in the notpad like I was saying before and you referenced. I don't care about downgrading if I can use this post to flash.

i cant for the life of me get the prl to stick. followed the directions perfectly, dont lose signal when the flag is switched to on. Even tried open ssh, this is on 4.2.6 any other tips? Im about to restore the phone and start over should i use the oem 4.2.6 or rich's modded one?

-I got the iphone jailbroken with Snowbreeze 2.7.3 and IPSW 2.4.8 it got me cydia -Then installed the repository from it and the program to navigate. -downloaded this .plr ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) the latest one 3018, renamed it as it says -Used DiskAid and placed it in the right folder, I checked it by doing the *#5005*4357# then send part. My PRL version is 3018 and my ERI version is 6. -As a result, my iphone network (the bars and provider name) changed from just showing me bars to showing me a Extended tag next to the bars. When I choose: Settings>>General>>about: the network says Extended too but the carrier still says Verizon 10.1 So now I dont know how to get my MetroPC S number in my iphone, I don't have a verizon number to activate the iphone. What's the next step, or if I skipped a step, how do I get my MetroPC S number, now that I have changed the PLR. Thanks very much!

i think i bricked my iphone. i did all the step and it wont even get past the greenposi0n logo. plz inform me on how to get my iphone back. but i must say something wasnt done right because from reading earlier post your phone is suppose to lose signal mine never lost signal.

You can now use jailbreakme.com also to jailbreak makes it a lot easier just go to link on phone and you can jailbreak in less then 4 mins then follow same steps as before to change the .prl

Rich, this is a very good guide on writing the prl (insert carrier) and just leaving a thank you is not enough. For the peeps having trouble, check in ifiles and make sure when you toggle the bolean switch edit is on. Fixed every one we had trouble with here.

Okay, I have an issue. I am jailbroken 4.2.10 with redsn0w beta 7. I opened diskaid, placed a couple different cricket prl's, 426000 and 38515 and once its copied in, I go to ifile, change carrier.plist to ON for the prlpushflag then click done and then reboot my phone. It comes on with bars and no verizon label, PRL is still verizon. I change the flag to OFF and then reboot and it comes back verizon logo and same PRL. different cricket prl's, 426000 and 38515 and once its copied in, I go to ifile, change carrier.plist to ON for the prlpushflag then click done and then reboot my phone. It comes on with bars and no verizon label, PRL is still verizon. I change the flag to OFF and then reboot and it comes back verizon logo and same PRL. You can't change an already activated/used phone, because it will not pick up any changes till you restore the phone fresh and then do the JB/iFunbox mod. Tested and it works all the time!! Enjoy, BillA

Tried to get a Verizon iPhone to use the carrier.prl from the Sprint_US.bundle on iOS5 with this method. When I reboot the second time it's stuck on "No Service" and when I go into settings there's no .prl. Any ideas?

to answer your question,yes they will revert,however ut wont matter because your phone ignored them to begin with. for your other question there is a edit button just below your post,not sure what your trying to edit,but if you dont see it let me know. @tuan1163- to answer your question,if your phone is already on cricket then that means you already have a cricket .prl in your phone,so it would be pointless unless you have a specific .prl you are wanting on it.

vzw folder. Everything was pointing to sprint; however, sprint strictly uses WiFi to activate the iPhone and for some reason the activation wasn't hitting Sprint servers. There was a sequence like ##827.... to force activation, but that didn't do anything except make a phone call. It was supposed to trigger the wifi activation. This turned out to be more complicated than the cricket activation. I'm sure if someone had a Sprint activated iPhone that they could extract the filesystem and that would help in some sort of way.

what u guys are missing is a commcenter patch,even though they are both signed bundles you still cant alter either one without a proper commcenter break or it will break the sig and fail.i have the sprint filesystem,you only need to be jailbroken to get it.

this way is simple and quick,it will have the prl of your choice on your phone in a few minutes. i have included all files you will need (except your prl) you need to be jailbroken for this to work. *** hidden content *** oh and i highly recommend while your in the sin-i-repo to install mi-wi cracked for your free hotspot,and TethrMe C racked for your apn's (cellular data network tab) for free also. thats it enjoy!

Im doing this on a SemiTethered JB v-I4 5.0.1 and seems like it doesnt take the prl (i used the latest metropcs 3024) Although this method worked for the 4.2.10 JB and the prl was kept when I upgraded to stock 5.0. C ould the ios version be the problem with it won't take the prl??

5.0.1 is a little different,u need to just use the ota programming it is the easiest way.ive been meaning to make a ipsw with a cricket prl and post it but with 5.1 on the cusp of being released it would be a waste because no-one ever seems to ever understand to save blobs for each os that is released for there phone so they wouldnt be able to use it anyway.

ota= add yer meid to your cricket acct then dial *228xx on yer phone here we use *22804 your last 2 digits could be anything, its market specific. if you dont know start at 00 then try 01 ect. until u here welcome to cricket when you dial. this has been covered in the iphone forum in about a dozen places already peeps.there are a couple tricks to ota'ing so read thru the forum to get up to speed on the latest i device stuff's.

Ive flashed a dozen or so all 4.2.8 or below, anything past 4.2.10 the new prl wont stick. I am in C leveland, Oh which is a Revol market that only has *228. Is there no other way to get the prl injected? Rich can you make me a custom ipsw using a Revol prl? Also I wanted to mention that somehow web has worked in every single iphone Ive flashed, how do I figure out what it is Im doing different from other flashers? I can show video proof if need be. thats because that baseband is not backwards compatible,so the only way to come back down is to upgrade and preserve bb with one of the nice new tools at our disposal or sn0wbreeze which was the original bb preserver.so ill say it again people,dont upgrade..ever! if its not broke..dont fix it.

even easier than snow breeze is redsnow 09.10b3 it will also preserve it but why preserve the baseband on the cdma iphone I don't see where it makes a difference one way or the other. For GSM phones yes preserve them always unless you understand there is an unlock for the newer baseband but for your cdma iphone no worries.

well if u think this will help you,here is a link for tcfw for windows.but i dont think u fully understand what this tool does and more importantly what it does not do,[since your bb is already updated].you can accomplish the same thing your trying to do with redsn0w and will run much better and require not near as much of your pc's resources to get it done. but good luck anyway. Agree with Rich, Apple BB are not downgradable. if you read the from somewhere, they are wrong. also only firmwares are downgradable if you save a shsh blog on the C ydia. but Rich what happens if sinfuliphonerepo is not available? i been tried at less 10 times and it times out and when you open the source the repo is there but no packages. is there another source to download ifile cracked??

well here are the repos with cracked apps,as for the sinful repo,there are several address's for it,the newest one is sinfuliphone.com however the original still works,when you load it and it is blank for packages,you just gotta wait for it to update,to help it along tap changes then refresh and let it completly finish,also you can log out and back into cydia or simply pwr dwn iphone and then pwr back on and refresh cydia after it loads.the server is getting pounded and these packages are just taking a while to complete and show but they will load and show,i have had them take a couple of hours to fully load. good luck. Im not at work now but I have more than a few viphones already in 5.0.1, used cc patch on one and injected new prl using diskaid method, new prl shows under carrier in settings, when I dial 611 Revol picks up but when I dial *228 it gets the Vzw roaming operator??? I even changed the sid using iFile and still roaming. Is there something Im missing? ( I replaced the carrier.prl with my new one) I read that there is a command that is to be used after cc patch, I didnt do that after confirming the new prl has been injected.

I have changed my prls on androids but never on iphone. I have a Sprint iPhone 4s, it is jailbroken with absinthe. I dont want to change carriers, i just want to load PRL 11115 with 3g roaming on Verizon to my 4s. Is this possible using DiskAid? What file and on which folder do i need to replace? do you not have ota available or your phone just wont ota? you might check that ota is enabled on your phone. if your phone is using the sprint bundle ota is not gonna work without a prl and sid loaded. i have been to bizzy this last week to make one,i will get it done,but i must run my stores,ya know.ill try to put out one for cricket and one for metro.but i got to have the time to do it.

Ota is available, I have not been successful in any of the 4.2.8-5.0.1 phones in getting the new prl to stick. I have a mac and a w7 machine and know its possible to make a custom ipsw with my prl, have searched over and over in my spare time and cant find a tut. Like you I own my own businesses, so my spare time is at night after work in the late night hours. Just so I dont leave anything out we are still changing the carrier.prl in the Zepp folder right? Same as your initial iFile method tut?

added your comm center patch and it wont flash. I can jail break no problem... Actually trued on 2 different phones with no luck both on 5.0.1

To get your Meid go to settings/general/about Look for MEID and take that A100001****** and put it in to the site I put in part one. 3. C all cricket on your home phone and when you get them on the phone tell them you won't to upgrade your phone and if the ask what phone you have say you dont no but it is. Verizion LG phone 4. The will tell you there is a $15 fee say ok 5. They will ask for your MEID go to the site the you put your phones A100001 number in and give them the "Dec MEID" Number. 6. After that you are done call*22804 then call *228 7. Reboot your iPhone have have talk and text

This also works for 5.0.1 I erased each individual file from the carrier bundles file and then added in new from another iphone then added the 1050 prl and renamed it to 310VZW, then I followed the directions in first post. After first power off and on said no sevice, after second power of and on said searching for along time then I got bars and reception... Dial *228 and wala welcome to cricket... The add meid to cricket and do tranfer then dial *228 did not work for me I had to manually ad prl into carrier bundls and do the prl push flag method.. So if you have updated to 5.0.1 and lost your flash just open carrier bundles and delete the files in there and copy or paste in new files from a different carrier bundle i use one of a iphone 4 that wasnt touched and then copied cicket prl to 310VZW.prl after i renamed it to 310VZW.prl and yes to warning.. All is well. Also my other phone has the 310VZW symbolic link erased the little box with the blue arrow in it. Is there a way to get this symbo;ic link back? C an not flash phone with out that link becacuase carrier bundles and the 310VZW communicate t each other ..

hi bro, carrier says to me to enter MC C , MNC , IMSI (min) to my phone. MC C 282 MNC 05 IMSI (MSIN) 10 digit number how can I enter this info to my iphone? i added prl file and it recognises carriers net. I jus need to give to carrier ESN and write IMSI to my iphone. any ideas?

I found why sprint phones wont OTA even with 0 spc . Their akey is fixed , cant be changed. One of the first things OTA do during program - generates akey and write it to phone ( at least in our network ) Sprint iphone wont accept new akey as this NV is constant and programming fail. You have to try fix OTA procedures on operators equipment and software.

I checked it before and after OTA is done. Sprint 4 is ok with OTA after setting SPC to zeros. 4S SPC won't be set to zeros!

i can confirm 4s spc to 0s. When i do ##akey, i get prompt for spc. If i type in 123456, i get bad spc. If i type 0s, i get enter 26 digit akey.

/system/library/carrier bundles/iphone/310vzw or zeppelin_us.bundle it doesnt matter which,they both write back to each other. there you will see the 310VZW.prl file. 4, now open the file you renamed with your prl and simply drag and drop the one you rename onto the one thats in the diskaid window and click overwrite to the warning that pops up,it will overwrite it,then close all that out,the rest is done on the device. 5,open cydia via wi-fi and tap manage/sources/edit/add then type this new source in sinfuliphonerepo.com then click add source. then click ok to the warning it throws. after it updates click return to cydia tap the new source you just added and scroll down to iFile C racked then tap install,then confirm,then go to it on your springboard open it & navagate to /system/library/carrier bundles/iphone/310vzw or zeppelin_us.bundle tap which ever one you choose to open it,tap carrier plist,then tap property list viewer, then scroll down to just below the signatures to prlpushflag and switch the boolean to show on. tap done. 6, power off phone,then back on. 7, then go back to the boolean we just changed,and change it to off again, 8, then power iphone 4 back off,and then on again. done. check by dialing *#5005*4357# then send but after on off the iphone i got no SERVIC E any help be appreciated i double check everything

still have no service dont know why i follow ur steps.............. well if you look at the date of this guide it was a long time ago,and was made for 4.2.6/4.2.8/4.2.10 not 5.0/5.0.1/5.1/5.1.1 i would bet you have a newer os,if you dont then you are not following directions because that works 100%

rich that part fix...........but i found the jalbreaking with redsn0w 0.9.10b6 find it unstable the phone keep shutting on and off have have to redo the teathearing again to coonect with dfs program.

Thanks. Finally got it to work. yes,i wrote this guide before there was any such thing as carrier.prl but things change quickly in the tech world worked like a charm. THANKS ...however, my carrier still says Sprint 12.0 but the PRL has changed. I was unable to verify by calling the number - probably due to two reasons 1. phone is not activated 2. trying this from a non-C DMA country / Europe Any idea how to activate the phone from overseas? Thanks
