Branding & Identity is the visual representation of a business. This directly affects how they are perceived by the general public and targeted audience. It can be as little as designing a simple logo for a brand, to designing and creating a whole interior for a retail space or creating environmental designs.

David Airey
David Airey is a graphic designer based in Northern Island, who has a large amount of experience in the design industry. He works mainly in Branding & Identity, and has worked with a large amount of large name clients. He has also written two design books. Build is a design studio producing modern, graphic solutions for lifestyle clients, both independent and corporate. Editorial and Publishing is the relationships between image and text on a page. It involves putting the message across in an appropriate way, visually and contextually. information & way finding

Information & Way finding is about making life easier for the consumer. It is an aid or visual representation of data. These are mainly environmental, such as road signs or directional signs, but also come in the form of data visualisation or maps. Media form depends completely on context & use.

Rand was an American Graphic Design who is widely considered to be one of the most influential branding & logo designers of the past decade. He is best known for his large corporate logos, such as Next, ABC & IBM. Many of these are still in use. He is thought to be one of the originators of Swiss Design. Muller Brockmann was a Swiss Graphic designer and typeface creator. He is a founding editor of design magazine New Graphic Design. He is recognised for his simple designs and his clean use of typography, notably Akzidenz-Grotesk, shapes and colours which inspires many graphic designers in the 21st century. He is also the author of many books.

Vignelli is an Italian graphic designer who has done work in a number of different areas of design, ranging from packaging design to way finding systems. He has always worked to the Modernist design traditions, focussing on simplicity through the use of geometric forms in all of his works. A prime example of this is the image above, which is Vignellis design of the New York subway system, designed in 1972. Clients include: IBM, Knoll, Bloomingdales, American Airlines.

Scott is a British graphic designer who is renowned for his hand-crafted and hand drawn work. He has a large client base, many of which are high profile and well known.
