We meet new and confusing terms almost every day. We are eager to learn them but always dont have the time to. We even dont have the time to choose what to learn. Our time is so limited against the unlimited increase of information. Learning Service Express condenses each point of knowledge into one diagram and one text description and helps you to get the point in 3 minutes. It is impossible for Learning Service Express to entail all technical details. Nevertheless, we hope to give you the most valuable part in the shortest

What is AMC
AMC is abbreviated from Adaptive Modulation and Coding. Purpose: AMC is a 3G/4G technology, where the network chooses the most proper modulation and coding scheme according to the channel quality and resource status in order to gain the highest possible data throughput. Brief: When the UE is in a favorable location for communication (e.g. near the NodeB or a high-quality channel), user data can be transmitted using high-order modulation and high-efficiency channel coding (e.g. 16QAM and coding rate 3/4) so as to get a high peak rate. When the UE is in an unfavorable location (e.g. cell edge or deep fading), the network chooses low-order modulation and low-efficiency channel coding (e.g. QPSK and coding rate1/3) to guarantee the quality of communication.

What is ANR
ANR is abbreviated from Automatic Neighbor Relationship. Purpose: ANR is a new technology in LTE. It is able to create neighbor relationships between cells automatically and thus reduces manual network optimization and cuts the cost of O&M. Brief: In legacy networks, neighbor relationships between cells are manually configured. The adjustment of neighbor relationships consumes lots of labor due to frequent migration and expansion of base stations. With the adoption of ANR, a base station detects neighbor cells that are not configured automatically and creates the neighbor relationship automatically. It maintains neighbor relationships automatically and responds automatically to improper neighbor relationships. This greatly reduces the workload of manual neighbor maintenance and lowers the OPEX of the network.

What is GPON
GPON stands for Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network. Purpose: GPON is the best solution for FTTX, it supports Triple play service, providing competitive all-service solution. Brief: GPON including three parts as follow: OLT ,ODN ,ONU. It can provide high-bandwidth up to 1.25Gbps(upstream)/2.5Gbps(downstream) and long-reach up to 20km. It can provide internet service ,VOIP service ,IPTV service ,also can provide TDM service and other service.

What is IPv6 prefix

IPv6 Formet is similar to IPv4 addresses, an IPv6 address consists of prefix and ID (host ID in IPv4, interface ID in IPv6). Purpose: As the name suggests, address prefix is the digital sequence prepended to an address. Of course, it belongs to the 128 bits. This part is either a fixed value or the routing/subnet ID, similar to the network ID of an IPv4 address. The prefix is expressed as follows (similar to IPv4 CIDR): address/prefix length. Brief: An IPv6 address also includes an interface ID. Then how is the interface ID generated? Currently three methods are available. Automatically generated in accordance with IEEE EUI-64 Generated at random by the device The device can generate an interface ID at random, which is supported by Windows XP currently. Manual configuration As the name suggests, manual configuration is to specify an interface ID manually.

What is ATE
AFE is abbreviated from Adaptive Time Equalization, it's a Microwave Propagation and Antifading Technologies. Purpose: ATE is used in time domain to directly counteract intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by distortion of amplitude and group delay. Brief: A standard signal waveform, after being transmitted for a certain distance, will be expanded or have some other distortions, which will cause inter-symbol interference and further result in bit errors. In this case, a time domain equalizer with multiple taps may be used to sample the time domain signals at multiple points and then perform weighted summation, so as to reduce the distortion of the signal time domain waveform. This method is called Time Domain Equalization.
