Arkofix NZF New liq

Crosslinking agent for the formaldehyde-free finishing of textiles of cellulosic fibres and their blends with synthetic fibres.

Arkofix NZF liquid new imparts very good dimensional stability with good wet and dry crease recovery properties to textiles of cotton and viscose and their blends. Arkofix NZF liquid new meets the requirements of formaldehyde freedom as required for children's wear (under 2 years) in: Japan Law 112-1973 Finnish Law SFS 4996/1986 Eco-Tex Standard 100. Arkofix NZF liquid new provides excellent formaldehyde-free wash and wear effects with a soft handle. Arkofix NZF liquid new has no chlorine retention properties. It is possible that an unpleasant odour may develop on the finished goods. This can be avoided by acid rinsing with acetic acid and good ventilation. Arkofix NZF liquid new is suitable for white and dyed goods. If optical brighteners such as Leucophor BLR on cotton and/or Hostalux* ETB/N on PES/Co are applied, the degree of whiteness obtained is comparable to that with a lowformaldehyde crosslinking agent. The presence of urea in the finishing liquor impairs the degree of whiteness. The influence on the lightfastness and shade of reactive dyeings may be 1-1 1/2 rating points poorer than with low-formaldehyde crosslinking agents.

Application

Arkofix NZF liquid new is applied together with the special acid donor Catalyst NKD liquid by the dry crosslinking method. The applicable amount is 50-200 g/l Arkofix NZF liquid new depending on the type of goods. As acid donor we recommend ca. 10% Catalyst NKD liquid related to the amount of crosslinking agent. With amounts over 150 g/l Arkofix NZF liquid new the amount of Catalyst NKD liquid should be reduced. The padded goods are dried in the usual manner, e.g. at 110-130C on the stenter. For curing a temperature of 150C to max. 160C is recommended, e.g. 1-2 min at 150C. Special washing off is not required. Any unpleasant odour can be avoided by padding with ca. 2 ml/l acetic acid 60% and careful drying at less than 130C.

Remarks In order to obtain optimum results in resin finishes the woven or knitted fabric concerned must be free from alkalis and completely neutralized before finishing. Alkali residues impair crosslinking and can lead to odour formation. The performance such as crease recovery, dimensional stability, etc. are also impaired. Please contact your local field technician if you have any questions.
