E are glad to inform that IDRBT is conducting the 5th Programme on Mobile Banking, Security & Testing (MBSAT) for 5 days during April 21-25, 2014 (Monday to Friday) at IDRBT, Hyderabad. The details of the programme are given below. We request you to nominate suitable officials from your Bank / Financial Institution.
Contents:
The topics would cover Basics of Mobile Communication and Mobile Banking Processes, SMS, USSD, Wi-Fi, GPRS, WAP, Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Near Field Communication, Mobile Wallet, IMPS, AEPS, NUUP, Security Analysis, Mobile Payment Models, Regulatory Guidelines and Interoperability standards for Mobile Payments, Internal Architecture of Mobile Devices, IVRS for Banking Services, Bar Codes and QR Codes, Captcha, Mobile Forensics, UML, J2ME and Android, Testing of Security of Mobile Banking Application Software etc.
Introduction:
Providing Mobile Banking solutions by ensuring safety, security, reliability and interoperability, on both low-end and high-end mobile phones, through various mobile communication channels such as SMS, USSD, IVRS and GPRS is a challenge for Banks and Financial Institutions. Developing Customized Mobile Banking Applications is another big challenge since customers mobile phones have varying degree of embedded features, different operating systems, non-uniform computing resources for secure transactions, power constraints etc. Testing of each of these Mobile Banking applications, growing number of side channel and malware attacks on Mobile Phones, creating awareness on fraud prevention mechanisms, customer education on Mobile Banking and its security as per their background and language, scalability issues to support high volume and real time Mobile Payment Transactions are some major concerns of Banks. The Mobile Banking Security Lab (MBSL) of IDRBT would help the Banks and Financial Institutions to understand the evolving challenges on Mobile Communication, Mobile Banking, Mobile Security and Mobile Application Testing. It would provide guidance and support through Research, Development and Consultancy Services. This programme would be useful to Banks and Financial Institutions to orient their solutions for continuous improvement in tune with the emerging mobile technologies.

Lectures, Discussions, Presentations and Hands on Experiments at the Mobile Banking Security Lab (MBSL).
Faculty:
Faculty and Research Staff of IDRBT, Guest Speakers and Experts from the Industry.
End Use:
The participants would be in a position to know the latest developments in Mobile Communication, Mobile Banking and Mobile Security. Understanding the developments in Standards, Guidelines and Security Principles would help in adopting best practices for effective delivery of banking services through mobile phones.
