January 25, 2012 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I wish to thank my brother bishops, priests, and deacons, and the pastoral administrators, religious, professional collaborators and parish leaders whose ongoing commitment to service and pastoral care makes this Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 2012-2017 a reality. In a special way, I express my gratitude to those who were directly involved in the collaboration and development of this pastoral resource. Together in Christ, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 2012-2017, brings together the questions, concerns, gifts and aspirations of our Hispanic brothers and sisters as they seek greater integration into the life and mission of the Church in St. Louis. It is a response to my pastoral vision of a Catholic community truly Alive in Christ. The pastoral priorities, goals and objectives listed are the rst fruits of a comprehensive and inclusive pastoral process led by many participants and involving parish surveys, focus group sessions, pastoral conversations, feedback, and theological reection sessions. During this process, the voice of our Hispanic brothers and sisters provided the essential guidance needed. Together in Christ is also an invitation to all of us in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Gospel passage that guided the theological reections of this plan reminds us that Christ is the vine and we are the branches chosen to reach out to one another and to the world (Jn 15: 5, 16). We are invited, then, to be active participants and collaborators of these rst fruits of Christ. I ask our clergy, pastoral administrators, lay ministers and professional collaborators to review this document with an open heart and mind. Together in Christ expresses the wisdom that comes from our community of believers and provides concrete paths for mutual support and collaboration. Introduction
The Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 20122017 stems from the pastoral vision of Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and the Pastoral de Conjunto (Communion in Mission) of the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group, the Hispanic Ministry Commission and the Hispanic Parish Communities. While the direct and intentional processes and theological reections contributing to the development of the pastoral plan began in the summer of 2010, the commitment to Hispanic ministry in St. Louis has a rich history. The presence of Hispanic Catholics and the archdioceses commitment to serve them can be systematically traced to the early 1980s when many Hispanic Catholic families were responding to the social and spiritual needs of the growing Hispanic community in the St. Louis area. Among the early organizers and pastoral leaders of Hispanic ministry in the archdiocese are ve dierent coordinators or directors, who contributed and responded to the growing needs of the Hispanic community. Their leadership and commitment in the early days of Hispanic ministry in the archdiocese have paved the way to a more systematic and comprehensive pastoral plan. Guided by the national vision and plan for Hispanic ministry, which calls all Catholics to a more genuine pastoral de conjunto (communion in mission), the pastoral plan recognizes the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in all our ministries. Attentive to the priorities of our local Church in St. Louis, the pastoral plan situates its services within this larger context so as to build up and contribute to a more unied ecclesial life. The Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 2012-2017, then, provides an intentional guide for Hispanic Ministry in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. As such, the pastoral plans priorities, goals and objectives engage the dierent archdiocesan agencies and leadership in order to eectively respond to the growing needs of the Hispanic Catholics in the archdiocese. As we collaborate to ensure the successful implementation of this pastoral plan, we continue to pray for one another and we ask God to bless our ministry. Together we remember the Gospel message calling us to be the branches rooted in Christ: I am the vine, you are the branches You did not choose me but I chose you (Jn 15: 5, 16).

El Plan Pastoral de la Arquidicesis para el Ministerio Hispano 2012-2017 proviene de la visin pastoral del Arzobispo Robert J. Carlson y de la Pastoral de Conjunto del Grupo de Lderes Pastorales Hispanos, de la Comisin del Ministerio Hispano y de las Comunidades de las Parroquias Hispanas. Aunque los procedimientos directos e intencionales as como las reexiones teolgicas que contribuyeron al desarrollo del plan pastoral comenzaron en el verano de 2010, el compromiso del ministerio hispano en St. Louis tiene una amplia y rica historia. La presencia de los catlicos hispanos y el compromiso de la arquidicesis en servirlos pueden trazarse sistemticamente desde comienzos de 1980, cuando numerosas familias catlicas hispanas comenzaron a responder a las necesidades sociales y espirituales de la creciente comunidad hispana en el rea de St. Louis. Historical Perspective
The presence of Hispanic Catholics and the archdioceses commitment to serve them can be systematically traced to the early 1980s when many Hispanic Catholic families were responding to the social and spiritual needs of the growing Hispanic community in the St. Louis area. By the early to mid-1990s the Oce of Hispanic Ministry already had signicant leadership under the direction of Monsignor Francis X. Blood and Sr. Alicia Alvarado, OP. The period of 1998-2003 was one of tremendous growth in personnel, parishes, programs and networks for the Oce of Hispanic Ministry. By the end of those 5 years, the Oce of Hispanic Ministry had moved from the parish oces of St. Cecilia to the Archdiocesan pastoral center. Some salient accomplishments of this period include an increase number of Masses in Spanish, growth in lay ministers involved in parish ministries, personnel for Hispanic youth and young adult ministry, faith formation workshops, an increase in programming budget, and regional and national networks and collaborations. Between 2003 and 2010 the Hispanic ministry continued to mature. Parish personnel dedicated to Hispanic ministry sustained their respective ministries and continued to respond to the pastoral needs of the Hispanic community. At the archdiocesan level, the Spanish marriage preparation classes, faith formation retreats, young adult ministry, Spanish catechetical programs, and immigrant advocacy received attention and development. During this rst decade of the 2000s, Hispanic ministry experienced key transitions in leadership. The loss of two Hispanic ministry directors within a seven year period meant that the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group would need to organize and focus its eorts in order to keep Hispanic ministry viable. The membership of the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group includes diocesan priests, religious men and women, and lay professionals. By 2010, the organization and leadership of the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group led to the sustainability of Hispanic ministry and provided the guidance needed to hire a new director for the Oce of Hispanic Ministry. With the support and leadership of Archbishop Robert J. Carlson, the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group began the assessment-phase of what is now the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 2012-2017.

La presencia de los catlicos hispanos y el compromiso de la arquidicesis en servirlos pueden trazarse sistemticamente desde comienzos de 1980, cuando numerosas familias hispanas catlicas comenzaron a responder a las necesidades sociales y espirituales de la creciente comunidad hispana en el rea de St. Louis. Por principios a mediados de los 90, la Ocina de Ministerio Hispano ya tena liderazgo signicativo bajo la direccin de Monseor Francis X. Blood y la Hermana Alicia Alvarado, OP. Demographics
The Catholic Hispanic Presence Nationally and in the St. Louis Archdiocese
The percent of the Hispanic population is growing much faster than the non-Hispanic population both nationally and in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. According to the 2010 Census, Hispanics are the largest minority population in the U.S at 16%. (Assume that 67% of Hispanics are and will be Catholic). There are several states where the percent Hispanic is at least 30%: New Mexico (46%); California (38%); Texas (38%); Arizona (30%). Missouri ranks 40th in the percent of population that is Hispanic (3.5%). The 11 counties of the Archdiocese of St. Louis have a lower concentration of Hispanic population (2.5% in 2010) than the overall state of Missouri and far less than the U.S. Studies of religious aliation of the Hispanic population estimate that about 67% of all Hispanics in the U.S. are Catholic. There is no evidence to believe that the percent of Hispanics that are Catholic in the Archdiocese of St. Louis is dierent from the national average of 67%. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has estimated that nationally, more than 50% of Catholics under the age of 25 are Hispanic. If the age structure of the Catholic population in the Archdiocese of St. Louis is similar to that of the nation, then in our archdiocese, about 9% of Catholics under the age of 25 are Hispanic. Though Catholics registered in the parishes of the archdiocese total 453,000, we customarily add an additional estimate of unregistered Catholics to arrive at the total of 527,900 Catholics. The Ocial Catholic Directory reports 68.3M Catholics. The estimated 36,400 Hispanic Catholics in the archdiocese include many who are not registered in parishes. The two Hispanic parishes have the following estimated number of registered Hispanic Catholics: Our Lady of Guadalupe (2,600) and St. Cecilia (1,800). Parishes in the archdiocese with Hispanic ministry include the following: Immaculate ConceptionArnold, Holy RosaryWarrenton, Holy TrinitySt. Ann, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Sacred HeartTroy, St. Cecilia, St. Charles Borromeo, St. JosephFarmington, St. JosephManchester, and St. PatrickWentzville. With a 50% increase in the number of Hispanic Catholics in the Archdiocese by 2020, Hispanics will comprise 11% of Catholics in the archdiocese.

Pastoral and Theological Perspective

The pastoral and theological perspective stems from the Gospel of John, which brings to light our Christian vocation to always be rooted and remain together in Christ. The simple and profound image of the vine and branches invites us to reach out into the worldlike branchesknowing that our foundation is forever found in Christ who sustains and gives life to our human eorts (Jn 15:5, 16). In the Church in St. Louis, this very image and vocation are echoed in the words of the archbishop whose pastoral priorities call us to be Alive in Christ so that we may participate more authentically in Evangelization: I want all our Catholic schools to be Alive in Christ! I want them to demonstrate a vibrant, hope-lled spirit that proclaims to the whole world that Christ is alive and activein our homes, in our parishes and school communities and in the world (Mission Advancement Initiative, 2010). Remaining faithful to this local vision, the pastoral and theological perspective of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry 2012-2017 brings together the concerns and aspirations of this local church and the national vision and plans for Hispanic ministry. By uniting the contextual reality of Hispanic Catholics, the pastoral and theological perspective demonstrates the intercultural nature of the work of Evangelization. Indeed, proclaiming to the whole world that Christ is alive and active will demand that we remain attentive to the cultural nuances and riches found in dierent faith communities. And in a special way, it means being intentional in reaching out to the Hispanic Catholic community. In responding to the Hispanic Catholic community of St. Louis, our pastoral and theological perspective remains close to the words of Encuentro and Mission, which call for ongoing conversion of mind and heart to Christ, intercultural communion with all of Gods people, and solidarity with the poor and the world: Evangelization is the fundamental mission of the Church This process generates a mstica (mystical theology) and spirituality that lead to conversion, communion, and solidarity, touching every dimension of Christian life and transforming every human situation (#26).

Perspectiva Pastoral y Teolgica

La perspectiva pastoral y teolgica proviene del Evangelio de San Juan, el cual ilumina nuestra vocacin cristiana de siempre estar arraigados y permanecer juntos en Cristo. La simple y profunda imagen de la vid y las ramas nos invita a extendernos en el mundo, como ramas, sabiendo que nuestras races siempre se hallan en Cristo, quien sostiene y da vida a nuestros esfuerzos humanos (Juan 15: 5, 16). En la Iglesia de St. Louis, esta misma imagen y vocacin son evocadas en las palabras del arzobispo, cuyas prioridades pastorales nos llaman a estar Vivos en Cristo, a n de que podamos participar ms autnticamente en la Evangelizacin: Quiero que todas nuestras escuelas catlicas estn Vivas en Cristo! Permaneciendo el a esta visin local, la perspectiva pastoral y teolgica del Plan Pastoral de la Arquidicesis para el Ministerio Hispano 2012-2017 reconcilia las preocupaciones y aspiraciones de esta Iglesia local, con la visin nacional y los planes para el Ministerio Hispano. Al unir la realidad contextual de los catlicos hispanos, la perspectiva pastoral y teolgica demuestra la naturaleza intercultural del trabajo de Evangelizacin. De hecho, al proclamar al mundo entero que Cristo est vivo y activo nos pide que permanezcamos atentos a las riquezas y a los matices culturales que se encuentran en diferentes comunidades de fe. Methodology of Pastoral Discernment

The Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group engaged the national Hispanic methodology of pastoral discernment in order to focus on the needs and aspirations of the faithful, judge that reality in light of Scripture and Tradition, and move into transforming action. This methodology that calls us to see, judge, act, celebrate and evaluate established a foundation for the assessment and theological reections processes of the pastoral plan, and it will continue to guide its implementation and evaluation.

Parish Survey and Focus Groups

The Hispanic Pastoral Leadership Group developed a two-stage methodology to assess the spiritual needs of the Catholic Hispanic community in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The rst phase of the study was to develop a survey administered in nine churches. This phase of the study, from April 2010 through September 2010, resulted in 914 valid surveys completed by the Catholic Hispanic community. A report was prepared for the Archdiocese of St. Louis and for each participating church. During the second phase of the study, from February 2011 through March 2011, follow up focus groups were conducted with each parish that participated in phase one. The goal of the second phase was to share the results of the survey and to follow up with additional questions about the quality of spiritual life and spiritual health in the parish. Over 200 individuals participated in the focus group and 179 individuals completed a second survey from the nine churches. The churches that participated in the study were the following: Saint Cecilia, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Trinity, Saint Joseph-Manchester, Holy Rosary, Saint Charles Borromeo, Immaculate Conception, Sacred Heart, and Saint Joseph-Farmington. The results from the rst and second study were used to identify both spiritual strengths and spiritual needs. Encuesta Parroquial y Grupos de Enfoque

El Grupo de Lderes Pastorales Hispanos desarroll una metodologa en dos etapas para evaluar las necesidades espirituales de la comunidad catlica hispana en la Arquidicesis de St. Louis. La primera fase del estudio fue desarrollar una encuesta que se administr en nueve iglesias. Esta fase del estudio, desde abril de 2010 hasta septiembre de 2010, tuvo como resultado 914 encuestas vlidas completadas por la comunidad catlica hispana. Theological Reection Sessions

Following the results of the rst and second study, the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group participated in a theological reection process that included three distinct sessions. An integral component of this process was being attentive to and intentional in incorporating the feedback of the Hispanic Ministry Commission. In preparation for the pastoral plan, the Hispanic Ministry Commission engaged in prayerful reection and conversation with the archbishop about the needs and gifts of the Hispanic Catholic community. These theological reection sessions focused on prayerfully identifying key themes that emerged from the assessment data from the parishes surveys and focus groups, the work of the Hispanic Ministry Commission and the ongoing pastoral work experiences of the Hispanic Pastoral Leaders Group.

Siguiendo los resultados del primer y segundo estudio, el Grupo de Lderes Pastorales Hispanos particip en un proceso de reexin teolgica que incluy tres sesiones distintas. Un componente integral de este proceso fue estar atento e intencionalmente incorporar la informacin recabada por la Comisin del Ministerio Hispano. En preparacin para el plan pastoral, la Comisin del Ministerio Hispano se aboc a una devota reexin y conversacin con el arzobispo sobre las necesidades y dones de la comunidad catlica hispana. Estas sesiones de reexin teolgica se enfocaron devotamente en identicar temas claves que emergieron de la evaluacin de la informacin de las encuestas y de los grupos de enfoque parroquiales, del trabajo de la Comisin del Ministerio Hispano y de las continuas experiencias de trabajo pastoral del Grupo de Lderes Pastorales Hispanos.

The working draft of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry was shared with representative leadership from the archdiocese. This leadership included the ten pastors of the parishes with Hispanic ministry; director of Paul VI Institute; director and sta of the Catholic Education Oce; director of Young Adult Ministry; director of Youth Ministry; executive director of the Oce of Communications and Planning; executive director and sta of Apostolic Services and key leadership from the Ministry Team of Dr. David Muekl. Their comments and input helped guide the nal version.

Todays culturally diverse Church needs leaders who are deeply rooted in a personal relationship with Christ Leaders need to be excellent listeners and have great sensitivity to and interest in peoples lives, needs, aspirations, and ideas. They need to believe in and be models of service, with a profound commitment to solidarity with the most vulnerable. In short, leaders need to be gente-puente (bridge-builders)pioneers in opening doors to self and others (Encuentro & Mission #46).

Pastoral Priority: Hispanic Youth and Young Adults

Desiring to be the light of the world and salt of the earth, many Hispanic young people dedicate their energies and talents to the mission of the Church. Their values are deeply Christian they need to see their talents and potential valued by the Church. Hispanic youth and young adults with leadership qualities must be oered opportunities for religious education, catechesis, and special training, so that their vocations to serve the Church will ourish (The Hispanic Presence: Challenge and Commitment, #12i).

Pastoral Priority: Social Justice and Human Dignity

A commitment to social justice is one of the pillars of Hispanic ministry. The commitment should involve ongoing formation on Catholic social teaching and collaboration on advocacy and public policy issues. Issues of immigration, education, human rights, border concerns, voter registration and dialogue with labor union leaders are all issues relevant to the Hispanic community. Lay leaders should be formed and trained to participate in these arenas, for they have an impact on not only their community but also the entire Church (Encuentro & Mission #50).

El compromiso con la justicia social es uno de los pilares del ministerio hispano. Este compromiso deber involucrar una formacin continua sobre la enseanza social catlica y la colaboracin en asunto socio-polticos y de promocin de diversos grupos. Los asuntos de inmigracin, educacin, derechos humanos, asuntos fronterizos, inscripcin de votantes, y dilogo con los lderes de los sindicatos son todos asuntos de mucha relevancia para la comunidad hispana. APPENDIX A: Letter of the Hispanic/Latino Bishop to Immigrants

Dear immigrant sisters and brothers, May the peace and grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you! We the undersigned Hispanic/Latino Bishops of the United States wish to let those of you who lack proper authorization to live and work in our country know that you are not alone, or forgotten. We recognize that every human being, authorized or not, is an image of God and therefore possesses innite value and dignity. We open our arms and hearts to you, and we receive you as members of our Catholic family. As pastors, we direct these words to you from the depths of our heart. In a very special way we want to thank you for the Christian values you manifest to us with your livesyour sacrice for the well-being of your families, your determination and perseverance, your joy of life, your profound faith and delity despite your insecurity and many diculties. You contribute much to the welfare of our nation in the economic, cultural and spiritual arenas. The economic crisis has had an impact on the entire U.S. community. Regretfully, some in reaction to this environment of uncertainty show disdain for immigrants and even blame them for the crisis. We will not nd a solution to our problems by sowing hatred. We will nd the solution by sowing a sense of solidarity among all workers and co-workers immigrants and citizenswho live together in the United States. In your suering faces we see the true face of Jesus Christ. We are well aware of the great sacrice you make for your families well-being. Many of you perform the most dicult jobs and receive miserable salaries and no health insurance or social security. Despite your contributions to the well-being of our country, instead of receiving our thanks, you are often treated as criminals because you have violated current immigration laws. We are also very aware of the pain suered by those families who have experienced the deportation of one of their members. We are conscious of the frustration of youth and young adults who have grown up in this country and whose dreams are shattered because they lack legal immigration status. We also know of the anxiety of those whose application process for permanent residency is close to completion and of the anguish of those who live daily under the threat of deportation. This situation cries out to God for a worthy and humane solution.

Muy estimados hermanas y hermanos Inmigrantes, Que la paz y la gracia de Nuestro Seor Jesucristo estn con todos ustedes! Nosotros los obispos hispanos/latinos de Estados Unidos abajo rmantes les hacemos saber a quienes se encuentran en nuestro pas sin papeles que no estn solos ni olvidados. Reconocemos que todo ser humano, documentado o no, es imagen de Dios y por lo tanto tiene un valor y dignidad innitos. Les abrimos nuestros brazos y nuestro corazn y los recibimos como miembros de nuestra familia catlica. Como pastores, les dirigimos estas palabras desde lo ms profundo de nuestro corazn. De una manera muy especial queremos agradecerles los valores cristianos que nos demuestran con su vida el sacricio por el bien de sus familias, la determinacin y perseverancia, el gozo de vivir, su profunda fe y su delidad a pesar de la inseguridad y tantas dicultades. We acknowledge that, at times, actions taken in regard to immigrants have made you feel ignored or abandoned, especially when no objection is raised to the false impressions that are promoted within our society. Through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops we have testied before the U.S. Congress for change in our immigration laws and for legislation that respects family unity and provides an orderly and reasonable process for unauthorized persons to attain citizenship. The new law should include a program for worker visas that respects the immigrants human rights, provides for their basic needs and ensures that they enter our country and work in a safe and orderly manner. We will also continue to advocate on behalf of global economic justice, so that our brothers and sisters can nd employment opportunities in their countries of origin that oer a living wage, and allow them to live with dignity. Immigrants are a revitalizing force for our country. The lack of a just, humane and eective reform of immigration laws negatively aects the common good of the entire United States. It pains and saddens us that many of our Catholic brothers and sisters have not supported our petitions for changes in the immigration law that will protect your basic rights while you contribute your hard work to our country. We promise to keep working to bring about this change. We know how dicult the journey is to reach the border and to enter the United States. That is why we are committed to do all that we can to bring about a change in the immigration law, so that you can enter and remain here legally and not feel compelled to undertake a dangerous journey in order to support and provide for your families. As pastors concerned for your welfare, we ask you to consider seriously whether it is advisable to undertake the journey here until after just and humane changes occur in our immigration laws. Nevertheless, we are not going to wait until the law changes to welcome you who are already here into our churches, for as St. Paul tells us, You are no longer aliens or foreign visitors; you are fellow-citizens with the holy people of God and part of Gods household (Eph 2:19). As members of the Body of Christ which is the Church, we oer you spiritual nourishment. Feel welcome to Holy Mass, the Eucharist, which nourishes us with the word and the body and blood of Jesus. We oer you catechetical programs for your children and those religious education programs that our diocesan resources allow us to put at your disposal.

Reconocemos que en ocasin las acciones tomadas con respecto a los inmigrantes les ha llevado a sentirse ignorados y abandonados, incluyendo cuando no se han escuchado voces que se levanten ante las falsedades que se promueven dentro de nuestra sociedad. Por medio de la Conferencia de Obispos Catlicos de Estados Unidos (USCCB) hemos abogado ante el Congreso estadounidense por un cambio a la ley de inmigracin que respete la unidad de la familia, e incluya pasos ordenados y razonables para que personas sin documentos puedan obtener la ciudadana. La nueva ley deber incluir un programa de visas para trabajadores que respete los derechos humanos de los inmigrantes, les provea las necesidades bsicas para vivir y facilite su ingreso a nuestro pas para trabajar en un ambiente seguro y ordenado. We who are citizens and permanent residents of this country cannot forget that almost all of us, we or our ancestors, have come from other lands and together with immigrants from various nations and cultures, have formed a new nation. Now we ought to open our hearts and arms to the recently arrived, just as Jesus asks us to do when he says, I was hungry and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me to drink; I was an alien and you took me into your house (Mt 25:35). These words of the Lord Jesus can be applied to the new immigrants among us. They were hungry in their land of origin; they were thirsty as they traveled through the deserts, and they nd themselves among us as aliens. (See Daniel G. Groody, CSC, Crossing the Line, in The Way, Vol. 43,, No. 2, April 2004, p. 58-69). Their presence challenges us to be more courageous in denouncing the injustices they suer. In imitation of Jesus and the great prophets we ought to denounce the forces that oppress them and announce the good news of the Kingdom with our works of charity. Let us pray and struggle to make it possible for these brothers and sisters of ours to have the same opportunities from which we have beneted. We see Jesus the pilgrim in you migrants. The Word of God migrated from heaven to earth in order to become man and save humanity. Jesus emigrated with Mary and Joseph to Egypt, as a refugee. He migrated from Galilee to Jerusalem for the sacrice of the cross, and nally he emigrated from death to life in the resurrection and ascension to heaven. Today, he continues to journey and accompany all migrants on pilgrimage throughout the world in search of food, work, dignity, security and opportunities for the welfare of their families. You reveal to us the supreme reality of life: we are all migrants. Your migration gives a strong and clear message that we are migrants on the way to eternal life. Jesus accompanies all Christians on our journey toward the house of our Father, Gods Kingdom in heaven. (See Pope John Paul II, Tertio Millennio Adveniente, No. 50.)

Los ciudadanos y residentes permanentes de este pas no podemos olvidar que casi todos, nosotros o nuestros antepasados, hemos venido de otras tierras, y juntos con inmigrantes de varias naciones y culturas hemos formado una nueva nacin. We urge you not to despair. Keep faith in Jesus the migrant who continues to walk beside you. Have faith in Our Lady of Guadalupe who constantly repeats to us the words she spoke to St. Juan Diego, Am I, who am your mother, not here? She never abandons us, nor does St. Joseph who protects us as he did the Holy Family during their emigration to Egypt. As pastors we want to continue to do advocacy for all immigrants. With St. Paul we say to you: Do not be mastered by evil; but master evil with good. (Rm 12:21). May Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, accompany you and bless you always.
