Position Compensation Location The Organization Key Responsibilities Nurse Paralegal Base up to $80,000 plus paid overtime, generous

bonuses, medical benefits, 12 Vacation Days, 3 Personal/Sick Days, Paid Holidays, 3 Additional Paid Holidays for Seasonal Office Closing, 401K New York, NY - Midtown Manhattan - New York City Plaintiffs-only law firm with a national trial practice. Support two Partner's and team of Associates with all phases of litigation handling a broad range of injury and wrongful death cases involving defective devices and dangerous drugs and consumer products Review and analyze medical records, pre-existing or co-existing medical conditions, billings, notes of physicians and nurses, charts, pleadings, discovery, deposition transcripts, accident reports and insurance documents Conduct medical research to translate and interpret medical/nursing terms, diagnoses, and treatment plans; outline relevant deviations and adherences to Standards of Care Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of medical evidence and identify exclusions, oversights and discrepancies Organize and prepare outlines and narrative summaries of digested medical records for presentation to clients and for use during depositions/trial Prepare, schedule and attend deposition proceedings including retention of court reporters, preparation of witness and expert files, digesting transcripts and maintaining original documentation Bluebook, shepardize, cite-check and proofread legal documents to ensure proper formatting and compliance with local and federal court rules Process authorizations requesting medical/collateral source records Prepare answers to summons and complaints, answers to interrogatories, fact and expert witness lists and exhibit lists, summary judgment motions as well as prepare analysis evidencing product exposure Collaborate with Office Manager, Associates and other Case Managers for scheduling and managing firm calendars and office functions Appear as an expert witness, testifying at trials, depositions, hearings, and arbitrations as required Conduct non-party witness interviews and prepare memorandum to keep attorneys apprised of obtained information Answer and screen calls, field inquiries, relay messages and track all communication with clients, opposing counsel and internal team Draft and proofread correspondence, court papers and other legal and non-legal documents Schedule and book travel arrangements for Clients, Witnesses and Experts Enter and track expenses and complete expense reports for reimbursement and/or case allocation Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence via electronic and paper mail for assigned cases 2-6 years of demonstrated experience reviewing medical evidence involved in litigation cases, i.e. HIPPA compliance, medical records and billings from case inception through trial/settlement 2-3 years of nursing/medical experience with strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, medical conditions and medications Team Player who is Proactive, Highly Motivated, Energetic, Organized and Self-Managing Skilled at research, redlining, blacklining, cite-checking, bluebooking and case management Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe; TrialWorks; Westlaw, LexisNexis and PACER

Required Skills
