Neurosurgeons are not worth the money, because there is not exactly a shortage of human beings on the planet.The reality is, life is cheap in most of the world. Therefore fixing faulty brains is a worthless exercise, they are often badly damaged afterwards anyway.

i read about it alot and it is a lot of studying years of practice and years of internship it is a tough job to pursue and very stressful i dont only want to do this for my family though i want to do this for the less fortunate and give back help the poor after i earn my monies my son should be well off when he goes to college

It pays a lot but when you look how much you pay for insurance it equals out and isn't nearly as much.

Malpractice insurance for this field can cost up too $100k a year.... That's how high stress this job is. Not for the faint of heart and definitely not for just anyone. Only the best of the est actually become decent neurosurgeons
I dont believe this. It depends much on the person on how he or she handles his or her profession, and there's a lot of other factors to consider.

This is probably one of the highest stressed jobs, and most difficult. Its not like you open their back and get paid millions. You have to do it all correctly or they die, you get sued, or you accidentaly kill them some how and then are deeply depressed. This is not just a job you do it is a very important job. You must be very educated for this job. Even though i am not one my uncle is and he is indeed rich, but like i said it is a high stress job so they deserve it and all the hours they put in.

Comments: I am a charted engineer in London, it really depends where you are in a company. I oversee all the other engineers and am I project manager, this is where you can expect to be when working in a top engineering firm such a B.A.E. where I work. The salary is becoming more based on this work you do and not an annual wage, last year my earning before tax was about 730,000.
Boring! Weren't computers meant to replace the need for paper in the office? My work is made a pain in the ass by poor IT and poorly made software!
So since computer engineering is 2nd while electrical engineering is 17th.....what's the ranking of a telecom engineering that contist of the two engineering fields?and who earns more ?
its not true anymore because of too much of competition. from what i heard from my friends who work as computer engineers for US banks, its around $70-120K pa. and risky during recessions. more over there are N number of consultancies who bid for these position for less than 20$ / hr irrespective of the complexity of the work or the scarcity of the skill Suresh from India

for almost everything in life u need some form of legal document or u have to go throw some form of legal process. aka lawyers run the world!!!
money isn't evrything i'm doing this because i love it the studies is not easy but nothing in life is. many say lawyers are liers but once u understand what u have to do and what it is all about u'll think differently i know i did:)

Comments: An airline pilot is my dream job. I wanted to be an airline pilot from a very young age 6 or 7. I am 13 and joining the RAF cadets to help me become and get this truly amazing job!!
This is a cool job, I like it. But some of these comments make no sense at ALL, they are retarted and should be removed! Oh, and, LEARN TO SPELL!
My dads been flying planes for nearly 30 years now so he is quite high up and is a captain for a decent company. He spent a great deal of money on learning to fly and the courses involved, so he was broke after. It took him many many years to become comfortable again. Yes when you look at how much he's earning its a bloody lot! But he only gets about just over half of it because of the flipping tax. My dad is a very clever man, being a pilot especially captain comes with a lot of pressure and stress every day of your life. For the amount of effort concentration and improvisation which is needed to put in to flying, he definitely does not get paid the amount he deserves. Call me ungrateful but it's true, especially when footballers earn my dads yearly salary in a week. Now how is this fair? Although I have to say my dad loves his job and he says after all these years he still gets the thrill of taking off and landing, bless him. I am very proud of you dad, well done, you deserve so much more x

i am a corporate/ charter pilot pursuing this dream and it has been a nightmare. Imagine spending $160K on training and being offered a job at $18000 per year as a flight instructor, did that for 5 years. FO for $18 to 32K for another 5 years... I have been flying for 16 years and now make $55K. All the money is being earned as a Capt. on Int'l aircraft in the last 5 years of your career. This does not belong here.

Trust me it is horrible i have been working at United for 15 years as a 1st officer and we are taking huge pay cuts because of the economic crisis and 9/11. Trust me!! It sucks

Also emirates as i should know give you accommodation allowance so i know live in Dubai with my wife and occasionally get the Manchester flight to see my family. starting salary is nowhere near 80k. It costs about 100k to train! and the basic is in the region of 20-30k. Experienced pilots make more but that is many years down the line when you reach the rank of captain. The best paid pilots fly for cathay pacific and virgin atlantic.
You really got this VERY wrong. Airline pilots are NOT that well paid, unless from singapour airlines or emirates which make ther difference through benefits.

If you remove entrepreneurs from the scene and restrict the focus to individual jobs, experienced actuaries, on average, earn approximately $512000 p.a and CFA's earn approximately $450000 p.a(if you add their stock options, on average experienced CFA's are known to take home approximately $3.52mil p.a.). . . just a thought.

And no it's not just putting people to sleep, it's chemistry. Putting people under for surgery is an extremely dangerous thing and requires a lot of understanding of te field to accomplish. Not too mention the cases of victims that woke up in the middle of a surgery because the anastetic dose was off by .5 mg....

nurses r in demand in every country..... without nurses doctors r handicapped.... nurses r so less in supply and high in demand so naturally itz got to be on top.........
Comments: It depend on each country ... in Uk ,US , Canada , Australia ... they get pretty good salary ,but in many lagging countries they get to bad salaries . Where i live people can become nure without high school degree or GED but their salary not good . But who gonna get a nure career he/she should value the human being first .
the pay is not encouraging considering the cost and duration of training, worst of it is if u have a masters or a doctorate, u earn highest 90k at the peak of nursing profession while d least paid md or mbbs earns 80k, u can see so much disparity. finally the work comes with little or no societal recognition
Pay is CRAP? You kidding! I earn around $50/hr doing agency work and approx 80 K annually. Very negative comments here from some 'jaded', unsuccessful nurses I'm guessing.
Nursing is the oldest profession in the world. I'm a uni qualified RN in a tertiary referral hospital. According to Australian standards, an 8th year RN earns around 80,000 K annually (with penalties). Public sector has more entitlements/secure benefits than cutthroat private. Any job is stressful - regardless.. Nursing is a great educator, motivator & gateway to medicine, pharmacy, dentistry etc. As a general rule, you don't have take-home work, and will never be out of work.- as some office workers are during economic downturns. You have an inspiring role to play and meet awesome people from all walks. I've nursed many poor and a few rich & famous. Develops people skills and basic scientific principles. You learn not to stress as much as you learn the value of life.
even though it's a tiresome work...but u get satisfaction at the end of every day...we feel proud wen we can see smile on the face of sick people,,,and the salary is smart...
I'm a jobless RN. Abusive hospitals and clinics. Taking advantage of the oversupply of nurses. Without us, your business are all gonna die, so pay us a little respect.

You get paid well as an RN and paid even better of you get your masters. But entry level or LVN nurses get paid crap and clean up crap literally. Not to mention the amount of debt that most LVN's accumulate by going to a private trade schools with no hopes of making it out to finish up the necessary school work to become an RN. High paid nurses aren't in demand, entry level nurses are there's a big difference
nurses are worst paid lot in India...the job earns less respect..often the job is reduced to the level just manual labor.. please compare a nursing graduate's pay package with any other medical graduates(BDS,Bpt,Bpharm.Bsc mlt) ...moreover there is much less career growth opportunity..exhausting job..ONLY ONE UPSIDE to it..US &UK are eyeing cheap nursing labour from India

THEY should be NUMBER ONE-They live off your money anyways. So what you earn is actually for them to siphon it off you. There is NEVER a poor politician. Within months of joining politics or being elected, they are millionaires. From one election to another, when they declare their (known) assets, the assets have more than doubled. How is it possible on the pay they earn?

In relation to the pilot comment, actually KLM pay up to 215,000 a year and Ive heard that Emirates pilots get like 160,000 of their salary tax free.
I know an average orthodontist who makes 650,000 a year

An average orthodontist in usa earn around 166,000$ and if you are really good then you can make around 300-400,000$
