As a part of our collective journey to ignite young minds through education, a renowned agriculturist and social worker from a small town known as Gangoh in Saharanpur district of UP, our Inspirer, Babu Vijendra Kumar Ji envisioned a society that would place the needs of the youth on the centre stage, by empowering them through education so as to serve the larger needs of the society. This dream of BabuJi was sought to be fulfilled by his sons, Dr. Shobhit Kumar and Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra when, along with a team of eminent professionals, technocrats, educationists and social workers, they established in 1989 the NICE Society Trust. The mission and work of the Trust in the field of human resource development through quality education was recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India who vide Notification No. F-9-37/2004-U.3 (A) dated 8th Nov., 2006 under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 granted Deemed-to-be University status to Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, India, an Institution developed by NICE Society in 2000. We are pleased to inform that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has also notified our Second University in the name of Shobhit University, Gangoh, District Saharanpur in consonance with section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956 and under the Shobhit Vishwavidhaylaya, Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam,2011 (U.P. Act No.3 of 2012) as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the H.E. the Governor of Uttar Pradesh in March 2012.

Eligibility & Admission Procedure: A candidate seeking registration for the Ph.D. must possess the following qualifications: Engineering, Management, Pharmacy & other Professional Courses: (a) Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the appropriate field of Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy/ Management/ Architecture of a University or its equivalent. OR (b) Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in relevant field of Engineering / Technology / Architecture of a University or its equivalent, with at least five years of experience in Public Sector Undertaking / Research and Development Organizations / Private Industries / Service Sectors / Educational Institutions / any other State and Central Government Organizations. OR (d) Master's degree or its equivalent, with at least 55% marks in the relevant field of Science/ Humanities etc. Notwithstanding anything contained in the above mentioned rules (a) to (d), the eligibility criteria/ guidelines prescribed and/or issued by UGC from time to time shall be applicable for registration to all Ph.D. Programme(s) of the University. The University shall encourage inter-disciplinary research activity. Sponsored Candidates : An employee of a Government Department/ Government Undertaking, a Research/ Development Organization, Public Sector Undertaking, an Educational Institution, a private Industry services with a minimum relevant working experience of three years may be considered for admission as a sponsored (full-time/ part-time) research scholar. Sponsored applicants will be eligible for admission provided they are treated by their employers as on duty. Candidates fulfilling the minimum laid down qualifications will have to undertake Ph.D. Entrance test conducted by Shobhit University. Successful candidates will have to undergo for personal interview. Class Schedule: Weekend (Saturday & Sunday) Admission of B. Sc. Graduates : For being eligible to seek lateral entry to an Engineering Degree program at second year/ third semester level, a candidate must have passed the Degree in Science (B.Sc.), with Mathematics as a subject and with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Admission of Migration Candidates : The University Equivalence Committee shall examine the courses studied by a candidate in the 1st year of B.Tech/BE program. If the equivalence is more than 75% as established by the Equivalence Committee, the candidate can be permitted to seek admission in the 2nd year of the B.Tech. program, provided that candidate fulfills the eligibility requirements of Shobhit University and submits No Objection and Character Certificate from the previous University/Institution from where student has passed 1st year of the program. Eligibility & Admission Procedure: Admission of Diploma Holders : A student who has acquired a diploma in Engineering through a minimum of three years of institutional study, after 10+(Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination) will be considered to be academically equivalent to a student who has passed the first year of the four year Engineering degree program for which the qualifying examination is of the 12+ level. For being eligible to seek lateral entry to an Engineering Degree program at the second year/ third semester level, a candidate must have passed the diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch with a minimum of 60 percent marks in the aggregate.

Adarsh Vidyadhan Samman Scholarship

A student shall be evaluated for academic performance in a course through tutorials, homework, assignments, quizzes and mid semester tests and final theory examination. Scholarship Evaluation of a course is based on the weightage assigned to various components of the course examination scheme (without practical marks). Components are designated as under: CWM MSM FTM Class Work Marks will be awarded on the basis of attendance (10%), assignments, quizzes taken in the class and workshops attended, paper presented/published in national / international conferences/journals (10%). (Weightage: 20%) Mid Semester Examination Marks (Two tests will be conducted during the semester and the average of the two will be considered to finalize the marks). (Weightage: 20%) Final Theory Examination Marks (Weightage: 60%)

All students are normally expected to have attendance of 100% in each subject (Lectures, Tutorials and workshop conducted by University). The attendance can be condoned upto 25% for genuine reasons. The concerned Program Coordinator may give further relaxation up to 10% on account of illness and other pre-approved occasions. Vice Chancellor may further condone attendance shortage up to 5% on genuine grounds. Marks Evaluation based on Attendance:

These Scholarships are applicable for Academic year first year students only. The amount of scholarship in IInd year & onwards of the program will be according to the percentage of marks (without laboratory marks) obtained with 75% attendance or more and no back paper in the previous academic year. These Scholarships are not applicable for M.Tech., M.Phil. & Ph.D. Programs (GATE/NET qualified candidates may be offered Research Scholarship of Rs.8000/- per month based on their performance. This scholarship is applicable only for residential candidates.). For M.Tech. program, Student is eligible to get Research Scholarship Rs.8000/- per month OR a student who has more than or equal to 75% in B.Tech. / MCA / M.Sc. will get Rs.25,000/- Scholarship per annum. Scholarship will be paid from Babu Vijendra Foundation.

SUMMER SCHOOL
The University has taken the lead in organizing Summer School for unsuccessful students in different subjects to save their year/career by providing extra opportunity to supplement their learning. If a student has missed mid-semester/semester-end examination due to valid reasons like illness, injury, death of an immediate relative etc., he/she may be allowed to appear in a summer school examination (Rs.1000/- per paper) for the missed paper provided he/she was eligible for the examination of that paper. Students who have been awarded 'F' grade and have no other option than to repeat the course. However, interested students having 'D/E' grade may also be allowed to take the course, if so desired by the student, after paying prescribed fee as mentioned below to the University :Examination Fee per paper Summer Semester Fee per subject
