Diablo 3 : MONK : Stat Priority Managing Primary (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Vitality) and Secondary (Critical Chance, Critical

Damage, Attack Speed, Weapon Damage, Armor, etc.) stats is critical for maximizing your Monk. Below are listed the two stat priorities for both max damage and max survivability. Max DPS Weapon Damage > Dexterity > Crit Chance >= Crit Damage > Attack Speed Max Survivability Resists = Armor > Dexterity = Vitality DPS Stats Breakdown Weapon Damage Increases the damage dealt by skills. Higher top end weapon damage and a smaller damage range will produce stronger attacks. Dexterity Multiplies all Monk damage. Crit Chance Increases the base chance of obtaining a critical hit. Crit Chance is best stacked with Crit Damage at a ratio of about 1:8. For example, if you have 10% Crit Chance then you should have +80% Crit Damage. As a note, Crit Damage is much easier to obtain than Crit Chance so you may end up with more Crit Damage than is optimal for your amount of Crit Chance. Crit Damage Increases the damage done by critical hits. See the Crit Chance definition for more information on how to best stack Crit Damage with Crit Chance. Attack Speed Increases the frequency of your attacks and reduces the duration of the combat animation for each attack. A faster attack speed produces more attacks in less time and increases your mobility by reducing the time of combat animations. Survival Stats Breakdown Resists Reduces the amount of damage received from specific types of attacks. Resists are offered for Physical, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Arcane/Holy, and All damage. Resist All is preferred over individual Resist types. Armor Reduces the amount of damage received from all attacks. Dexterity Increases dodge chance. Vitality Increases your maximum amount of Health. Monk Stats - The following stats are specific to a Monk Spirit Regeneration Increases the amount of Spirit regenerated by second. Life per Spirit Spent Provides healing when Spirit is consumed by skills. Monk Skill Bonus These bonuses increase the damage of certain Monk skills. The skills that can be modified by skill bonuses found on armor and weapons are listed below: Crippling Wave Cyclone Strike Deadly Reach Exploding Palm Fists Of Thunder Lashing Tail Kick Sweeping Wind Tempest Rush Wave Of Light Way Of The Hundred Fists

Weapon Priority In order to know which weapon-type is best for your Monk, determine whether you need to maximize your damage output or maximize your survivability. Below are listed the two weapon priorities for both max damage and max survivability capabilities. Max Damage Dual-Wield > Two-Hand > One-Hand & Shield Max Survivability One-Hand & Shield > Dual-Wield = Two-Hand Weapon Breakdown Dual-Wield (DW): Provides a 15% attack speed boost resulting in very fast attacks that do less damage per attack. Greatly improves the chance of receiving skill or on crit procs. Use weapons that are within 15% DPS of each other to maintain optimal overall damage while dual wielding. Weapons with identical DPS are preferred when possible. Two-Hand (2H): Slower attack speed with fewer, but stronger attacks. More burst damage when using skills with cooldowns. Two-hand weapons produce slow attack animations that make mobile and kiting gameplay styles more difficult to perform. One-Hand (1H): Faster attack speed with frequent, but weaker attacks. Extra attacks increase the number of skill and on crit procs. One-hand weapons produce quick attack animations that make mobile and kiting gameplay styles easier to perform. Shield: Increases your Armor and reduces the amount of damage you receive. If your Monk is dying too quickly in an encounter, equipping a shield may drastically improve your survivability.
