Airtel Bangladesh limited has launched internet search on SMS, an innovative service that will enable Airtel customers to search internet over SMS. This service will be particularly useful for the vast majority of Bangladeshi mobile phone users who do not have smart phones and data enabled handsets. It is a milestone in providing internet access to the vast majority of the Bangladeshi populace, many of whom have hitherto been deprived of the facility. Subscription : Type START SEARCH and send to 26300 Un Subscription : Type STOP SEARCH and send to 26300 To get relevant answers from the internet, you have to type query/keyword and send SMS to 26300; in reply you will get the relevant answer from the internet. For example, you have type weather of Bangladesh, or horoscope, or direction from Dhanmondi to Banani, and get the answer on SMS. You can type any keyword to get the relevant information.

Airtel is now available at all ACI Shwapno outlets with its array of services that include mobile banking facility, prepaid recharge and postpaid bill pay. Shwapno is the largest retail chain selling variety of products of your daily needs. They have 40 such outlets across the country located in major cities. While shopping, you will now be able to pay from your mobile wallet if you have a mobile banking account with DBBL. You can also do cash in or cash out in the mobile account. This is for the first time that a mobile operator brought all three services under one roof: talk time recharge, mobile banking (cash in, cash out etc in mobile wallet) and payment for the shopping through mobile banking.

Airtel Bangladesh Limited has announced the commencement of its flagship management trainee program titled Young Leader (YL) for the third time and Young Technical Leader (YTL) for the first time in Bangladesh.

The coveted YL program at Airtel identifies top talents from premier business schools to groom them into future business leaders and YTL program identifies top talents from premier engineering institutes to groom them into future technical leaders. The Young Leaders and Young Technical Leaders are provided with periodic leadership inputs and an accelerated career track, mentoring them every step of the way. We started this young leader hunt in 2011 and selected 3 young leaders. In 2012 the YL selection process was even more rigorous and out of 13,280 applicants only 7 were selected.
We have gone to top universities in the country in order to showcase YL and YTLprogram to final semester students and fresh graduates. Airtel officials met students face to face to address any query regarding YL anf YTL program and provided insights about working at Airtel. Advocate Shahara Khatun, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications today inaugurated the Airtel 3G Experience zone at the Corporate Office of Airtel Bangladesh Limited in Dhaka. The Honble Telecom Minister was accompanied by Md. Abdus Sattar, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Md. Abubakar Siddique, Secretary, Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications and Sunil Kanti Bose, Chairman, BTRC. Chris Tobit, CEO and Managing Director along with senior officials of Airtel were present at the inauguration. The Honorable Minister made video call to a university student who represented future generation and asked her how she perceived Airtel 3G to enrich her life. While addressing the media, the Honorable Minister said I am very hopeful that Airtel Bangladesh will bring in their global expertise to the 3G world of Bangladesh and provide state of the art 3G services for their customers. On November 7, 2013, Airtel has announced products and prices of 3G services in Bangladesh. Airtel 3G is currently available to customers in Dhaka and Chittagong and offers world-class 3G experience at high speed. Airtel Bangladesh Limited and Radio Foorti have jointly announced the opening of second season of musical talent hunt initiative Airtel-Radio Foorti Young Star of the Month . After the huge success of the first season, this years initiative is expected to be bigger and better. This year, musical maestro Fuad Al Muqtadir has joined this project to make the dreams of young musical talents come true. Young potential solo and band artistes are encouraged to send their songs to Radio Foorti where they will be played for the audience to listen. Rezaul Huq, CEO of Radio Foorti, Rajnish Kaul, Chief Operating Officer, Airtel Bangladesh Limited and Mir Nawbut Ali, Head of Marketing, Airtel Bangladesh Limited were present at the press launch.

These songs will also be uploaded to Radio Foorti fan page and Airtel Bangladesh fan page Airtel Buzz on Facebook where listeners will be encouraged to Like the songs. The final selection will be made based on the number of SMS sent, Like gathered and the verdict of Fuad Al Muqtadir. Two winners will be selected each month. The chosen few will then be sent to Fuads studio for a complete makeover of their songs. At the end of the year, Airtel and Radio Foorti shall release the Airtel-Radio Foorti Young Star album featuring all the selected artists. The project is already under operation from the 5th of September, 2013.

Airtel Bangladesh Limited has signed an agreement with Signature Technology BD Ltd, sister concern on ALMATA Group at Airtels Gulshan office. In that agreement it has been decided that Airtel will provide voice and data connections, SMS and other solutions to Signature Technology.

Md. Abdul Mannan, Chairman, Md Sherazam Munir, Managing Director of Signature Technology BD Ltd and Rajnish Kaul, Chief Operating Officer, Adil Hossain, Head of Corporate Sales, Raihan Faiz Osmani, Head of SME of Airtel Bangladesh Limited and other officials of both the companies were present during the agreement signing.

Airtel Bangladesh Ltd had signed an MOU with the Access to Information (a2i) program of Prime Ministers office supported by UNDP and USAID and with the Local government Division (LGD). With this MOU, the Information and Service centers at the Union, Pourashava and City corporation areas will be able to become Airtel retailers where they can sell SIM, recharge talk time and can also do mobile banking. It is for the first time that a telecom operator is ensuring availability of both the telecom products and the mobile banking service in the information and service centers.
Airtel will be offering its products and the mobile banking services through banking partners in 3000 such information centers very soon. The deal was inked at the PM office in presence of Government dignitaries and Airtel officials. Ms. Rubaba Dowla, the Chief Service Officer and Head of m commerce represented Airtel during the ceremony and Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General (admin), Prime Ministers office and Project Director of a2i program , Mr. K M Mozammel Hoq, Additional Secretary, LGD and represented their respective office.

Airtel Bangladesh Limited has recently signed a corporate agreement with Arkay Group at Airtels Gulshan office. Based on this agreement Airtel will provide voice and data connections, SMS and other solutions to Arkay Group. Rajnish Kaul, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Bangladesh Limited and Raqien Karim, Deputy Managing Director of Arkay Group has signed the agreement. Ashok Hakoo, CEO of Arkay Group, Adil Hossain, Head of Corporate and SME Sales of Airtel Bangladesh Limited and other officials of both the companies were also present during the agreement signing.

Airtel Bangladesh Ltd. signed an agreement with The City Bank at the corporate office of Airtel on 12th November,2013. Under this agreement, if you are a common customers of Airtel and City Bank you will be able to enjoy exclusive promotional offers. As a special arrangement City card members can activate auto debit service for their Airtel bills. The auto debit service is called Easy Pay. The City Bank and Amex Card members who enroll into this Easy Pay service will gain 500 Membership Reward points. Common customers can also pay their Airtel bills though bill pay option.

Airtel has signed an agreement with Ananta Group, a leading local apparel solution provider in Bangladesh at Ananta Groups office, located at Gulshan in Dhaka. Airtel will provide Ananta Group with best in class mobile solutions like voice call, blackberry service, 2G and 3G internet packages; etc.

Mr. Chowdhury Abd-Allah Quaseed Director, HR, Compliance, Welfare & Administration of Ananta Group, Mr. Md. Adil Hossain, Head, Corporate and SME Sales and Mr. Rejaul Amin Sohail, Corporate Sales Head of Airtel Bangladesh were also present during the signing ceremony.

Airtel Rising Stars in Bangladesh is the most exciting country-wide hunt for budding and talented football players. It is a rigorous scouting program, which over a span of 6 months, will select 12 talented footballers from Bangladesh and give them the chance-of-a-lifetime to attend a week long training camp with Manchester United in Old Trafford, England. This years Airtel Rising Stars will be held over a span of 6 months, at the end of which, top 12 players (under 16 years of age) will be chosen through a format different than the previous year.

After the successful production of popular telefilms such as Bhalobashi Tai, Bhalobashi tai bhalobeshe jai, Arunadoyer Tarundol, kick off, Amader Golpo, @18, and Impossible 5, the eighth telefilm by Airtel Bangladesh Limited, Bhalobasha 101 was premiered in Airtels Carnival of Love on Valentines Day in Army Museum Ground. The teleflim was telecasted in NTV on the same day as well. Bhalobasha 101, directed by acclaimed director Redowan Rony, has featured an ensemble cast of renowned actors such as Mehzabein, Toya, Safa Kabir, Sjahu Khadem, Tushar Khan, Dilara Zaman and Mishu Sabbir. The songs of the telefilm were directed by Studio 58.

The story of Bhalobasha 101 revolves around a girl living in Chittagong and a boy living in Dhaka who meets each other through a social networking site. As it turns out, they have never met each other in person. To celebrate Valentines Day, they decide to meet but plan to surprise each other and for that, they involve their best friends in it. Thus the story continues.

Airtel Bangladesh Limited, one of the fastest growing telecom operators of the country has indulged in festivities to celebrate the month of February, 2014 with Bashanti Utshab and Valentines Day. Airtel Bangladesh Limited has organized two back to back events on the 13th of February and the 14th of February, 2014 to celebrate the occasions.

Both the events were held at the Army Museum Ground (beside Novo Theatre) from 10 am to 10 pm.

At the Bashanti Utshab festival on the 13th of February, 2014, there were food stalls with a wide range of local cuisines, live musical performances by Ajob, Shunno and Airtel Young Stars Old School, Front line Poems , Tanvir and Upoma. There were also food competitions, street astrology, bioscope, monkey dance, fashion show, face painting, Nagordola and more.
