1. PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES

1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING


A.

Spiral wrap each flagpole with protective wrapping or


heavy kraft paper as recommended by the manufacturer.

Delivery, handling and storage of flagpoles and the


related accessories shall be in strict compliance with
the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 ALUMINUM FLAGPOLES
A.

Construction:
Fabricate
aluminum
flagpoles
from
seamless extruded tubing, alloy 6063-T6, in accordance
with ASTM B 241, having a minimum wall thickness
4.8 mm, and a tensile strength not less than 240 MPa
and a yield
point
of
206
MPa.
Heat-treat
and
age-harden
flagpole
after
fabrication.

B.

Flagpole Base
1.

Provide manufacturer's standard base system


the type of flagpole installation required.

Mounting: As shown on Drawings and in accordance


with the following requirements:

Base Plate: For anchor-bolt mounting, provide

metal shoe base of same material as flagpole
as well as anchor bolts

Foundation Tube: For ground-set flagpoles, provide


16 gage minimum galvanized corrugated steel tube,

all welded construction.
Provide loose hardwood
wedges at top for plumbing pole after erection.
Galvanize steel parts after assembly, including
foundation tube.

3. PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 INSTALLATION
A.

Excavation: Excavate for foundation concrete to neat


clean lines in undisturbed soil. Provide forms where
required due to unstable soil conditions. Remove wood,
loose soil,
rubbish
and
other
foreign
matter
from excavation, and
moisten earth before placing concrete.

flagpoles

the
approved shop
drawings
and manufacturer's instructions.

Paint portions of ground-set flagpole below grade with


a heavy coat of bituminous paint in accordance with the
requirements of Section 07150 - DAMPPROOFING.
