1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?!

Throughout this module Ive developed my time management skills enormously. I was very good with deadlines, and I managed to produce everything on time. I felt this was needed as Im dealing with real world clients who rely on me, and working collaboratively, where another individual relies on me to complete the work as agreed. Ive also developed my web skills, the majority of this project was spend designing applications for mobile devices and websites. Ive applied these skills across two websites and two applications, one of each was very substantial; D&AD power and Codex Books.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?!

I have really developed my design process in the development stage, I really lay out the process when designing a logo, testing different variations and try new ideas to nd the best possible solution to the brief. I feel I did this best when working in the OAC Photography and Codex Books briefs. The logos were a huge part of those briefs, and I really think I produced a good time standing logo for both businesses. My grid development has also been really good this module, Ive really been able to plan out the websites and apps well with the grids, making them look more aesthetically pleasing, and an overall better appearance.!

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?! A strength I can identify in my work would be the attention to detail, grid system and the OCD nature of making sure everything is perfectly aligned. I capitalised on this by assuring everything, on multiple page apps and websites owed together and worked correctly in comparison to one another. Im able to do a similar thing in future products, to assure everything is perfectly aligned and works well together.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?! A weakness I can identify in my work is the use of colour throughout the design of the majority of my briefs. The majority of the work Ive produced is black and white with a very small amount of colour. In some cases it works, and it others it doesnt really work well. I will address this in future by experimenting with more colour in the design stages, go to crits, organise them, get feedback on the colour choices for the briefs so Im able to create a more impactful design. ! 5. Identify ve things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?! I will experiment with colour, by doing this I may get a more impactful creative design result.! I will try to push myself more to do more work, and even extend the development stage by putting more time into it, by doing this, i can achieve a more throughly thought out nal resolution to the brief.! Attempt another collaborative brief, to develop and practice by collaborative skills when working with another individual.! Attempt another competition brief, another D&AD or YCN brief to test my creativity and possibility of winning more than one brief.! More live briefs, I really enjoyed working for clients, making logos and business cards, by doing more I can get more design practice in, and develop/improve my skills!

6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: ! (please indicate using an x) !

5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1 Attendance Punctuality Motivation Commitment Quantity of work produced Quality of work produced Contribution to the group x x x 2 3 4 5 x x x x

The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
