“Painting enriches my life and keeps my soul alive.

It’s a game between reality, imagination,
and creativity, and when I quit playing
I feel deprived of myself”.

One could see my paintings as still life. Basically as an

array of flowers, fruits and vegetables on a surface that
sit still and don’t move. But, I see those still lives as
reminders of life’s ephemeral qualities. When I paint
a still life is often permeated with a fragile melancholy
or a contagious happiness. They are similar feelings to
those which characterized my life as a human being
and as an artist.
In a still life I see the world differently, from countless
angles, each different, unique and always important.
My interest is not in the objects themselves but in using
them to experiment with shape, color, and lighting. I
arrange my still life so that everything locked together.
Edges of objects run into each other but have their own
space, their uniqueness. In giving form and mass to
objects through the combination of brushstrokes and
carefully balanced colors and textures, I feel that -for
an instant- I can stop time.
My paintings express everyday life exalting the
beauty of nature in flower arrangements, fruits and
simple kitchen appliances, retaining a fascination for
colors related to my dear tropic and my passion for
life and love. Art is that love that knows no dates, nor
schedules when expressed, it just flows.
In me inspiration flows, thanks to the support,
advice and friendship of my husband, but mainly
because of his immense love for me.
Manet once said: “A painter can express all that he
wants with fruit or flowers”.
