Atlas Copco Waterwell Drilling Rigs T2W-III

Rotary and DTH Drilling 30,000 lb (13,607 kg)

A NEXT GENERATION DRILLING SYSTEM THE T2W SERIES III

The Atlas Copco T2W has a long history as a robust, reliable water well drill rig built to the highest standards. It is not by coincidence that customers choose the T2W when they are looking for a drill that delivers high productivity even in the most rugged conditions. The new T2W-III incorporates many improvements derived from customer suggestions while maintaining the features that earned the rig its superior reputation. The new rig is designed to meet the changing demands of todays market, while continuing to reduce the cost of ownership.

POWER
The T2W-III is a single engine drill. The optional 500-horsepower engine provides plenty of power either on-highway or when drilling. Selection between drill and drive mode is made through a proven splitshaft PTO drive system.

FEED SYSTEM
The single-cylinder cable feed system is internal to the tubular derrick, protecting moving components from exposure to the typical drilling environment and rod handling operations. Experience has shown that this design provides lower maintenance costs and extended component life. Major components of the feed system are engineered to be larger and more mechanically efcient, thereby contributing to reduced fatigue and maintenance. Additionally, internal bearings are packed with maintenance-free lubricating compound.

SINGLE TUBE DERRICK

The exible T2W-III tubular derrick design is able to accommodate casing hammer, dual wall, or drill and drive systems. Though lighter in weight than a traditional lattice style derrick, the T2Ws tower provides superior strength and resistance to linear and torsional deection. The open working area around the tower and swing-open table give the operator ample room for large hole work or welding around casing.

FLUID OPTIONS
The new T2W-III caters to a wide range of drilling applications plications with air and mud options. The 900/350 on-board air compressor gives it extended air capability.

PIPE HANDLING
The T2W-IIIs newly designed swing in/swing out carousel is hydraulically actuated, making it efcient, safe and d easy for tripping in and out of the hole. The carousel has backloading capability, allowing easy loading and unloading into the rigs rod box when drilling in excess of the carousels sels capacity. The new optional 15K winch with two-part line matches es the pullback of the rig, giving the operator the exibility to trip out of the hole with the winch or the head. The dual hoist and jib controls allow the helper to load and unload the carousel from the helpers side. An optional single pipe loader and larger rod box can be offered as an alternative to a carousel depending on the operators preference for rod handling.

DECK SPACE
For a small rig the T2W-III has a surprising amount of free deck space. The deck is uncluttered, making it easier to perform service and maintenance.

HEAD
There are two options available for the head. One is a gear driven head constructed with oversized gears, shafts and bearings for large torque applications, and the other is a smaller, more compact hydraulic vane driven head for lower torque operation. Both options are three-speed. The rotary head slides in one direction to clear the hole le for handling pipe with the main hoist, auxiliary hoist, , or sand reel.

UNRIVALLED AFTERMARKET SUPPORT

Adding to the value of the T2W-III is the after-sales s support provided by Atlas Copco. Atlas Copcos 80,000 square uare foot parts distribution center near the factory supports an extensive network of sales and service outlets spanning 60-plus countries.

HYDRAULIC PIPING The mud manifold to the rotary head is operated by toggle switches from the console actuating ball valves via hydraulic cylinders removing maunally operated valves.

ROBUST TOWER TRUNNION AND HYDRAULIC PINNING CYLINDER The T2W-IIIs tower trunnion has been improved to give added strength. Mounted on the back plate of the trunnion is a hydraulic tower pinning cylinder operated from the console.

MUD PIT The swing up mud pit is a great addition to the T2W for the geothermal driller. The 350 gallon mud pit allows for the mud and cuttings to be contained.

6 X 6 DRIVE Designed to handle steep inclines, mud, ruts, wet or slippery conditions and unstable roads. This hydraulic drive system offers on-demand front wheel drive.
