Targeting Usability & Accessibility to Generate a New Client Base

Introduction
Use the paper prototype of the project design for the introduction with test participants.

I. User Profiles (or Personas)

As the audience for Selle, Inc. is a targeted demographic of individuals who are over the age of 50, user profiles will need to vary across the different levels of user testing. For round 1 of user testing, the profiles will be the following:

Selle, Inc. Profile #1 You are George Clooney. No, just kidding. But you are a middle-aged man with graying hair who wants to stay relevant and competitive (a trait of Baby Boomers) with your younger colleagues in the job market. You have basic computer skills in using programs like Microsoft Office, but want to advance your tech knowledge. You want to convert your simple, Microsoft document resume into an online portfolio-style resume. So, you want to build a website on Weebly to do so. User Dilemma: Man who wants to stay relevant

Selle, Inc. Profile #2 You are an older woman whose late husband passed away five years ago. You met a man two years ago and are now getting remarried in six months. Your first wedding was small so now you want to plan the wedding you never got to have. By flipping through bridal magazines, you have noticed that creating a wedding website is on trend in the bridal world. It allows your guests to access all the information they need as well as view fun things like the story of you and your fiance. You want to use Weebly to create your wedding website. Youre going for a very pretty template, but want the site to be easy to use for your older friends (and yourself!) User Dilemma: Woman getting re-married who wants to create a wedding site

III. Tasks for Assessment A. Usability Testing Results

Welcome Script (Read Aloud) Good [morning, afternoon], my name is Nicolle Boswell, and I will be coaching you through this study. As weve discussed before, what we will be doing today is something called, "Usability Testing." Because my project team is interested in the process for creating a website using our chosen medium, Weebly, we will be monitoring your clicks and actions on the computer screen. Now, I will do my best to get you to talk your way through certain tasks. What I am interested in is what you will be thinking and feeling as you use Weebly to complete your tasks. I will be doing my best to get you to speak out your thoughts, so I will be repeatedly asking you what you are thinking. Okay, we are going to use Persona #1 and plan a website based upon the tasks assigned for the described project. Are you ready ? Lets begin. Tasks Assessment

2. Are there any available tutorials for you to watch on creating a website with Weebly? Please watch the tutorials related to creating a website with Weebly. Did the tutorial answer all of your questions about how to create a website using Weebly? Will watch the video which is moving too fast...clicked blue button build a site...not click the plan the site because it seemed like the same thing... learn as you go...

Exercise 2: Getting Down to Business- Choosing a Theme

1. I would like for you to choose a theme and please continue with creating the site you have chosen. Click text and drag to theme section and it bounced back so not sure....clicked on title and can edit so change...should've listend to the video can't drag...not noticing the drag elements here section...hit back add an image and save...to this page only makes sense...click on text typed on top of resume "professional salesman" then when prompted thought of the screen as the paper then changed to your name on top... changed the theme section title to "professional salesman" in the summary section. if at home would've put a picture of yourself. and would just put a short paragraph and after going top down george gured out how to put text into the drag elements section.
