wellasdifferentarchitecturalstylesusedthroughouthistorytostudentsacross
severalgradelevels.

Educatorscancustomizetheprogramtofittheirlessonplansonart,local/Iowa
history,orsocialstudies.

Communityprogramminginvolveseducatingthepublicaboutdesignthroughour
guidedwalkingtoursandeducationallectures.

TheArchitecture@HandWalkingToursofdowntownDesMoinesareconductedby
designprofessionalssocitizensandvisitorscanappreciatetherichhistoricaland
architecturalheritageofIowascapitolcity.Thisprogramisalsoanexcellentlearning
activityoutsidetheclassroomforstudentsin3rdgradethroughcollege.

TheArchitectureMonthLectureSeries,aneweventcoincidingwithIowaArchitecture
Month,educatesthepubliconvariousdesignrelatedtopics.Initsfirstyear,theseries
examinedacenturyofhistoricandmodernarchitecturefoundthroughoutIowa.

Withthesupportofthecommunity,IAFcancontinuetheseprograms
andcreatenewopportunitiesforIowanstolearnabouttheimportance
andimpactofdesign.
