Hola Steve; soy Vic, dije. Siento no haber respondido antes tu llamada.
Me re nervioso.
Me preguntaba qu sera tan
importante.
Ya he asignado a alguien

The best anecdote about Steve Jobs that I read today
Translate a story about Steve Jobs who posted Vic Gundotra on Google+. I think it explains very well why
Apple managed to bring disaster to the first position among technology companies in these 15 years.
One Sunday morning, the January 6, 2008 was at church when my phone vibrated. As quietly as I could, I
checked the phone and saw that marked "Unknown". I chose to ignore it.
After the ceremony, as she walked to the car with my family, I checked the messages. The message was
from Steve Jobs. "Vic, can you call me at home? I have something urgent to discuss "it said.
Before reaching the car returned the call to Steve Jobs. I was responsible for all mobile applications at
Google, and in that position had frequent dealings with Steve. It was one of the perks of the job.
"Hi Steve, I am Vic", I said. "Sorry I have not responded before your call. I was at church and I appeared
"unknown caller" so I took no ".
Steve laughed. He said, "Vic, unless the Caller ID says" GOD ", you should never take a call in a church."
I laughed nervously. After all, if it was normal for Steve to call during the week upset about something, it
was strange to call a Sunday and ask me to call his home. I wondered what would be so important.
"Look, Vic, we have an urgent issue, one that must be solved as soon as possible. I've already assigned
someone from my team to help you, and I hope you can fix this tomorrow "said Steve.
"I've been looking at the Google logo on the iPhone and I'm not happy with the icon. The second O in Google
does not have the right yellow gradient. It's wrong and I'll make Greg fix it tomorrow. Is that okay? "
Of course I was fine. A few minutes later on that Sunday I received an email from Steve with the subject
"Icon Ambulance". The email told me to work with Greg Christie to fix the icon.
Since I was 11 and I fell in love with an Apple II, I have dozens of stories to tell about Apple products. They
have been part of my life for decades. Even when I worked 15 years for Bill Gates at Microsoft, I had a huge
admiration for Steve and what Apple had produced.
But in the end, when I think about leadership, passion and attention to detail, remember that call I received
from Steve Jobs one Sunday morning in January. It was a lesson I will never forget. CEOs should care about
details. Even for yellow tones. One Sunday.
One of the greatest leaders I've ever met, my prayers and hopes are with you, Steve.
