How not to Love our Lord

My beloved in Allah

Always, if you find yourself committing sins and not used to

obedience, if you love the way of seduction and refuse the way of
guidance or the right conduct, if you like to do things that make Allah
angry, and reluctant and maybe dislike what Allah likes, then know that
the main cause of this disaster is your ignorance about Allah.

If you really know Allah, you will love and fear Him from all your
heart. If the slave knows Allah with His high attributes and beautiful
names, he will fear His punishment.

Allah is severe in punishment, and you will wish His mercy; He is

the Benign the Merciful. Remembering Allah will straighten the slave's
heart. But we don't glorify our Lord as we should be for his Majesty.
Allah said:

"they haven't estimated Allah His rightful estimate. Verily, Allah

is All Strong
All Mighty". (Surat Al Haj, 74).

Therefore, feet slip in sins and deviate from the right path of
Allah.

The ignorance of Allah is behind every sin. Whoever disobeys

Allah is ignorant and whoever obeys Him is knowledgeable. And who
has the knowledge of Allah Al Mighty and His Greatness, His Pride and
His Majesty, he will fear and never disobey Him. It was mentioned that
if people think about the Majesty of Allah, they will never disobey Him.
Suffice the fear of Allah as knowledge and suffice the deception of
Allah as ignorance. Having fun in disobeying Allah will only result in
loss and deprivation.

So who will stand for you if you lose your Lord? And who will
stand for you if you got deprived from God's generosity, God whose
mercy encompasses everything?!!

O you, who know Allah’s path and turned away of it, what a trial
is greater than yours?!! Allah said:

“O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from
the
religion, Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will
love
Him” ( AL-Ma^'idah, 54).

Abu Alashhab Alsaeh said: “when I was in circumambulation, I

found a young woman attached to the covers of Al Kaaba and
saying: O my estrangement after the company, O my humiliation
after the pride, O my poverty after the richness.
So I said to her: What happened? Did you lose your money or
have a disaster? She replied: no but I had a heart and I lost it. I
asked: Is this your disaster!! She said: What is worse than the
loss of heart and the disconnection from the Beloved.

I said to her: your nice words prevented me from hearing the

words of the circumambulators. She said: O old man this House
is yours or His. I said His. She said: this sacred place is yours or
His. I said: His. She said: let us enjoy his gentleness as long as
we are allowed to visit Him.

Then she prayed: I ask you by your love to return my heart back
to me.

I said: How do you know that He loves you? She said: He

prepared armies for me. He spent money, and He got me out of
the land of polytheism and allowed me to be a monotheist. He
gave me knowledge after my ignorance. Isn't that because of His
care for me? [Safoat Elsafoa (4/418-419)]

My beloved in Allah…

Think and don't be absent minded, don't depend on a quick lust,

a vanishing life and impure luxury mixed with sadness and troubled
heart.
Is it reasonable of you to eat poisoned food if you are hungry, then
wish to be cured by taking a medicine?

This is a risk with unpredictable consequences. Death may come

suddenly, so who gave you the security that this will not happen? Why
won’t it happen? Ask the traffic officers about the car accidents and
the doctors and buriers about the ages of the dead today. They are
young people, death catches them every day.

Who said this is not your near destination? Especially since you
know that you are going in the opposite direction, away from Allah.

My beloved in Allah,
Let me talk to you about my Lord and your Lord a little maybe
these words will touch your heart and you will love Him a true love. Let
us know Allah but with a language that differs from all other
languages. It is the language of love.

Truly it is weird how the heart isn't filled with the love of Allah
while His amazing innovations surround us?!!

This is His great good-doing to us with every breath that we

breathe. This is His wonderful patience while He sees us committing
what makes him angry and He doesn't punish us.

This is His huge gentleness which makes you wonder while we

approach Him filled with sins; still He doesn't hesitate to accept us. He
even joys for our return to Him and turns sins to good deeds if the
one repents and returns.

For God's sake imagine this picture (the highest example is for
Allah) if a man came to help you or to shake hands with you, and you
avoided him looking to the other direction, He, in spite of this insult, is
still offering you his hand. By Allah, if you see this happening with
someone, aren't you going to blame that person and prevent him from
behaving this way?

So, what are you going to do if you know that Allah Al Mighty:
“…stretches out His hand at night to forgive the wrongdoers at
daytime and stretches His hands out at daytime for those who
sin at night and seek forgiveness” Narrated by Muslim.

Listen to this story which could be a great example. Imagine a

good hearted employer who has a poor employee whom he never
leaves without giving him money to eat and drink and fulfills his needs
and in return he expects a few easy tasks to be fulfilled by this
employee. So instead, this employee behaves arrogantly, disobeys his
master, and doesn’t fulfill his tasks and if he does, he does them the
way he wants discarding what the employer has ordered.

Now tell me, don’t you think this master has all the right to fire this
employee?
I think you get the picture.

Here is the Loving Lord as He shows affection and care to his

righteous worshippers. His love precedes their love. “…He loves them
and they love him…” His grace precedes their gratefulness. And to him
is all Majesty and Greatness. Imagine that a great king who has a
great empire and is very much feared who inspects his citizens to
show them care. He proceeds to his people and he is no need to do
that, he asks: Do you need anything every night?

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon

him) as saying: Our Lord, the Blessed and the Exalted, descends
every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the latter
part of the night is left, and says: Who supplicates Me so that I
may answer him? Who asks Me so that I may give to him? Who
asks Me forgiveness so that I may forgive him? Narrated by
Muslim.

He loves you and you don’t return His love they way you should.
Yes, he loved you when he selected you from all people to be a
Muslim. what did you do in return to his bounty.

Narrated by Obeid Allah ebn Al Hassan, the Judge of Basra, he

said: I had a beautiful slave who I admired a lot. And one night
while she was sleeping next to me, I woke up and I couldn’t find
her, and feared something evil has happened. So, when I found
her I found her praying while saying: with your love to me forgive
me. I said: don’t say that, say with my love to you. She said: oh
Battal, his love rescued me from the pagans and lead me to
Islam, and his love woke my eyes up and closed your eyes to
sleep. Narrator: I said: go you are free for Allah’s sake. She said:
oh my master you have harmed me, I had two rewards, now I
have only one.” [Ahl Al Sunna Beliefs (654/4)]

And one of the slave women used to say: “With your love forgive
me.” So it was said to her: “isn’t it enough to say with my love to you
instead?” She said: “haven’t you heard his saying he loves them and
they love him”? So he began with his love to them and theirs to him.
[Fayd Al Kadeer (532/3)]

Oh how merciful Allah is!! How shameful a human being feels

when he sees all the giving of Allah, and sees himself in denial and sin,
oh Allah forgive us, oh Allah forgive us.

My beloved in Allah…

Why do you distance yourself while he is close to you, Allah says:

“It was We Who created man, and We know what dark

suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than
(his) jugular vein (SuratQaf: 16).
And look at his blessings to you, whoever comes a step closer to
him he (Allah) comes twice as close to that person, and whoever
stands up to him he (Allah) walks to that person, and whoever walks to
him he (Allah) comes even faster to that person. Isn’t that unusual? If
we look at it with our concepts, why would the Master accept this
attitude from a slave who has mistaken towards him, he should try to
correct his mistakes, and go to his Master and travel the long distances
he has caused between them, without his Master doing any effort, so
that he learns his lesson well, but when you see that the Master starts
to move towards his slave as soon as he starts to see his slave coming
towards him, shouldn’t this slave be shameful of himself after all this?!!

My beloved in Allah,

Look to the great characteristics of your god, do you know that

your god is “shy,” you know why? He is shy to return those who ask
him empty handed, even if they are sinful underachieving. Who has
humiliated himself for Him and didn’t find pride?

Who asked for his help and didn’t get it? If this didn’t happed to
you then don’t blame him but blame yourself, since he is the most
merciful and giver of all.

Look at him when he sees you doing sins, and he covers you and
doesn’t unveil, since he is “the coverer and loves to cover,” imagine a
good giving father to his son, who gives him all he wants, nevertheless
his son steals his father secretly, and shockingly he finds his father in
front of him as he is stealing his money from the closet, no doubt that
he will be scared to death, since he never thought of his father being in
front of him at such an instance, so he starts to bluff, and his legs start
to shake waiting for his father’s reaction, and to his surprise his father
doesn’t punish him or get angry with him, on the contrary, he makes
his son feel that he hasn’t seen anything, as if saying: “I hope that you
don’t do it again,” maybe his son is shameful enough to learn his
lesson.

My beloved in Allah,

What can you say about a ‘thanking’ god who thanks whoever
obeys him, Allah, the king of kings, thanks you when you obey him,
can you believe that?! He even multiplies your reward even if your
deeds are few, rewards every deed ten times its reward or even more,
accepts from you a date and makes it a mountain for you in reward,
and rescues you from hell for even a small part of a date as
saddaka(the act of giving things to the poor) , what a great god our
god is?!
Hasn’t your heart moved towards Him yet? Haven’t your eyes
shed tears as you read His beautiful qualities and inspect the
exquisiteness of His manufacture? All this happens as you swap His
goodness with evil, His coming to you and you turning away from Him;
what evil has he done to you so that you would not love Him? All the
best things you do and posses now are from Him, He is who granted
you your health, your money, your business, your wife, your children,
all of this bounty you have, is his mere grace upon you. He specifically
chose what is best for you, and He spared for you on the Day of
Resurrection – if you obeyed Him – what no eye has even seen, no ear
has ever heard of, nor imagined by the hearts of human beings.

I say: How do you, after all this, disobey Him and allege loving Him?

You disobey the deity and you show His love,

This, I swear, is an outrageous measurement!
If your love was sincere you would have obeyed,
Lovers are, to whom they love, obedient!
Every day He precedes you with a blessing...
From Him, and you always forget the thanking!
