Kitchen Cabinet Estimate

● Approximately 30 linear feet of cabinets to be built, with or without countertop. This

depends on the customers choice of materials. (I do not do solid surface, only laminate
surfaces like Formica, Sharon, etc.) I can arrange for someone else to do solid surface
tops though.
● Price includes all hardware and completed installation. These two things are not
included in the price of many other cabinet makers prices.
● Removal of existing cabinets will be, no charge, if the cabinets are not to be saved. If
the cabinets are to be saved, (i.e. You want to give them to someone else to reuse) there
will be a charge of $150 for the removal of all cabinets and the tops.
● Customer will have to arrange for the services of an electrician to come and do the
wiring necessary for the new location of the range and microwave over top of it.

Price for the cabinets are as follows: (installation and hardware included)
● Oak cabinets: Natural finish, recessed panel doors - $5500
Natural finish, raised panel doors - $6300
● Cherry cabinets: Natural finish, recessed panel doors - $6250
Natural finish, raised panel doors - $7750
● Custom laminate top, (priced with mid priced laminate) - $1200

*Heritage Woodworking's Total price (with tops, installation, and all hardware):
● Oak cabinets: $6700 - $7500. Cherry cabinets: $7450 - $8950.
*As noted above, this price does not include removal of old cabinets. Price also
assumes that customer uses the drawings I have drawn up already. Any customizing
may, or may not, affect the price, depending on the extent of customization. Small
changes do not change the price of the cabinets.
*Changes in type of finish from that listed above, will also result in a price change.

*Price comparison with Lowe's closest match, (enhanced version), install price added in:
● Oak cabinets w/raised panel doors - $7896 + hardware and countertops.
● Cherry cabinets w/rec. panel doors - $9816 + hardware and countertops.
*Above prices are for 30” wall cabinets. HW prices are for 42” wall cabinets. Prices for
42” wall cabinets from Lowe's would be at least $650 more added to total:
● Oak – Lowe's - $8546, HW price - $6300
● Cherry – Lowe's - $10,466, HW price - $6250

Please see below for specifications of Heritage Woodworking's cabinets, and, a

comparison guide to Lowe's most popular cabinets. There is a big difference between
their's and ours, in terms of materials used and quality of construction, as you will see.

*Domestic plywood is far superior to imported plywood in many ways, but, especially
due to the fact that imported plywood comes to the US with a moisture content of 14%
to 18% making it unusable for interior applications, even though they still use it in
cabinets. Domestic plywood is rated at a far less moisture content, which falls within
the working range of woods used for interior applications.
Domestic plywood does not even compare to chipboard. They are worlds apart in
strength, appearance, cost, usability, workability, etc. Chipboard should be done away
with in my opinion.

I hope this has been helpful in determining which way to go when considering new
cabinets.
