1 App Folders on Standroid
This document contains requirements for the app
folder experience on standroid. App folders, much
like how they exist on Android, is the ability to
group several apps in one grid position, and give it
a name.
App folders can exist on the standroid page itself.

Creating an App Folder
1 User drags an app towards another
The speed in which the user is dragging an app
onto another will determine whether they create a
folder or simply move the app aside.
This is the interaction found on a standard Android
launcher, and we should be adopting it in
Standroid.

2 Creating a folder
If the user drags the app at a high velocity over
another, it will prompt the user to create a folder
with an animation (lets start with what's standard
on Android).
3 Moving an app aside
If the user drags the app at a low velocity over
another, it will push the app aside (again - lets use
stock android logic/interaction here)

4 Name your folder
This is where we differ from standard Android
interaction. As soon as a folder gets created for the
rst time, we prompt the user to name the folder
itself. We should use the same dialog for naming a
collection (with different copy)
5 Folder created. The Requirements
The folder has now been created. Its interaction
rules and requirements can all be adopted from the
standard android experience, with an exception to
the following:
Cover of the app folder: The ordering of the apps
shown in the folder itself should represent the most
recently used app from within the folder itself. It
should behave similarly to the cover items on
collections - ie. dropping an app into the folder or
launching the app from the folder itself will make it
appear rst.

6 App Folders can exist in collections
The same interaction to create app folders are
found within app bars as well inside of collections.
