e. Federal Supply Code for Manufacturer(FSCM).
The FSCM i s a 5-di gi t numeri c code l i sted i n SB
708-42 whi ch i s used to i denti fy the manufacturer,
di stri butor, or government agency, etc.
f. Description. I ndi cates the Federal i tem name
and, i f requi red, a mi ni mum descri pti on to i denti fy
the i tem. I tems that are i ncl uded i n ki ts and sets are
l i sted bel ow the name of the ki t or set wi th the
quanti ty of each i tem i n the ki t or set i ndi cated i n the
quanti ty i ncorporated i n uni t col umn. When the part
to be. used di ffers between seri al numbers of the
same model , the effecti ve seri al numbers are shown
as the l ast l i ne of the descri pti on.
g. Unit of Measure (U/M). I ndi cates the standard of
the basi s quanti ty of the l i sted i tem as used i n
performi ng the actual mai ntenance functi on. Thi s
measure i s expressed by a two-character al phabeti -

cal abbrevi ati on (e.g., ea, i n, pr, etc.). When the uni t of

(3) Third. I denti fy the repai r part on the
i l l ustrati on and note the i l l ustrati on fi gure and i tem
number of the repai r part.
