WDSG Art & Craft Dept.

is continuously advocate the value of The Roots Of Style, an

attitude of backing to the basic and tracing back to the roots. A combination of classic and
characteristic design which has been taken back all the marvelous elements from the past to
now. All the design details are rooted in timeless values and a rich heritage.
Under the dim lighting, a brass plaque engraved with WDSG Art & Craft Dept. logo is
embedded in the rough bricks wall along the steep slope of St. Francis Street. A pair of
intricate wrought iron oor grates gives intriguing glimpses into the basement shop below.
A metal inscribed ceiling is embellished with oral pattern. The upstairs level of the shop
to be classy, with wooden ooring and an old but elegant feel. The comparison of the
lighter scheme to the upstairs, the mood is much more sombre. The walls are painted
dark but shiny, because in the past, this was the color of the subways. In order to create
a revolutionary ambience. There is a private meeting room that could have been used for
plotting rebellions. Within that back room, a custom-made sliding wooden door and pivoting
windows with wooden panels increase its mystery. Down a ight of stairs, terra-cotta
hexagon oor tiles which laid into the concrete oors. Vintage leather sofas and armchairs
against labels such as Los Angeles based Mr. Freedom and RRL, a niche collection by
Ralph Lauren. To epitomize vintage sense of style, the selection is hanging on the rusty iron
racks.Scented organic candles by Australian brand Plain & Simple makes good use of brown
glass apothecary jars. They are also displayed on the metallic shelves. Lightings with their
brass cages and fabric covered wiring feel raw and industrial.
The bygone look of the store is dedicated to those who believe in originality. The Roots of
Style is the brands theme. You dont have to just look forward for innovation, in looking back,
you can nd many things in our heritage to celebrate.
