How to Obtain Additional Kits
The PLC Display Installation Kit, part number 400 850 411 0, is
available from trailer manufacturers or contact ArvinMeritors
Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Group at 888-725-9355.
PLC Display Kit
The PLC Display kit, part number 400 850 411 0, consists of a
display module, a pigtail harness assembly, 3/4 x 2-inch
(19.5 x 50.8 mm) Velcro, a mounting bracket, set screws, nuts and
washers for attaching the module to the bracket. Figure 1.

Mounting Requirements
WARNING
Ensure that the mounting location does not obscure the
drivers vision. Failure to do so may result in an accident
causing serious personal injury or property damage.
Before you begin the installation, determine whether the PLC
Display will be bracket mounted or installed in the vehicles dash
panel or headliner compartment. Select a mounting location on the
dash or a blank in-dash panel that is easily visible and can be
reached by the driver. Ensure the mounting location does not
obscure the drivers vision.
Installation
Bracket mounted: Bracket and mounting hardware required.
In-Dash mounted: Mounting hardware required. Drill and drill
bits, not provided by Meritor WABCO, may be required. Refer to
the vehicle manufacturers specifications for drilling instructions
and torque requirements.
See Appendix A for mounting instruction illustrations.
Bracket Mounted
WARNING
To prevent serious eye injury, always wear safe eye protection
when you perform vehicle maintenance or service.
Park the vehicle on a level surface. Block the wheels to
prevent the vehicle from moving. Failure to do so may result in
serious personal injury.
1. Wear safe eye protection.
2. Park on a level surface. Set the parking brake.
3. Insert the PLC Display console into the mounting bracket until it
clicks into place. Figure 2.

4. Use the two #6 3/8-inch (9.525 mm) set screws, nuts and
washers included in the kit to secure the PLC Display to the
mounting bracket. Tighten the screws to 5-6 in-lb
(0.56-0.67 Nm). Figure 3. @

5. Clean the mounting location on the vehicle dash. Then, apply
Velcro to the mounting site and to the bottom of the bracket.
Proceed to Step 1 in the wiring procedure.
6. Attach the PLC Display with the bracket to the Velcro on the
dash. Or, attach the bracket to the dash with appropriate
mounting screws (mounting screws not included in the kit).
In-Dash Mounted
1. Remove the panel covering from the vehicle dash.
CAUTION
Before securing the PLC Display to the dash, refer to the
vehicle manufacturers specifications for drilling instructions.
2. Remove the empty dash panel blank.
NOTE: PLC Display may be in-dash mounted using the Velcro
provided. If mounting with Velcro, proceed to Step 5. Skip Step 6.
3. Drill two 3/16 holes, using the dimensions from Figure 4.

4. Attach the two #6 3/8-inch (9.525 mm) set screws to the
mounting holes on the back side of the PLC Display and tighten
to 5-6 in-lb (44-53 Nm). @
5. Attach the PLC pigtail harness to the PLC Display and route the
harness assembly to the power and ground locations.
6. Insert the PLC Display with the #6 set screws through the
predrilled holes in the dash. Attach the lock washers and nuts
to secure the PLC Display to the dash.
7. Replace the panel covering the vehicle dash.
Wiring
1. Plug the pigtail harness assembly into the back of the
PLC Display. Verify the harness cabling is secure.
2. Route the harness assembly to the power and ground electrical
power points. Refer to the vehicle manufacturers specifications
for the exact location. Provide sufficient strain relief.
3. Connect the pigtail harness assembly wires as follows.

Brown: Reverse Input (optional) Connect to the tractor backup
lights.
Black: Ground.
Blue: 12V Switched Ignition Power, Trailer ABS circuit
breaker/fuse. Blue wire of the trailer ABS 7-way J560.
White: Dash Dimming. Connect to the panel lamp circuit
breaker/fuse or connect to the 12-volt switched ignition.
The dimmer function can be connected in one of two
ways:
Panel Circuit Breaker: PLC Display settings will be
controlled with the dimmer switch on the tractor
dash.
12-volt Switched Ignition: The intensity settings will
be controlled using the PLC Display.

4. Apply 12 volts power to the PLC Display. The Meritor WABCO
title screen will appear, indicating the PLC Display is
receiving power.
If the title screen does not appear, the PLC Display is not
receiving power. Check all wiring and connections. Make any
necessary repairs. If the condition persists, contact the
ArvinMeritor Customer Service Center at 866-OnTrac1
(668-7221).
