Distance Learning:

ICSI imparts compulsory postal coaching in Company Secretaries Course by Distance Learning (by Correspondence) enabling students to qualify as
Company Secretaries.
A student is required to successfully complete postal or oral coaching to become eligible for appearing in the examination for Executive/Professional
Programme
Students have the option to attend oral coaching classes organized by the Institute at selected places through Regional Councils/ Chapters/ Accredited
Centres on payment of extra fee (fee for oral coaching).

Medium of Examination:

The Institute allows the facility to submit the response sheets to the test papers in English/ Hindi as well as for writing the examination.

Further Academic Pursuits:

CS qualification has been recognized by various Universities for admission to Ph.D. Course in Commerce/ Management/ Law.

Placement:
A qualified Company Secretary has openings in Employment and can also practice as an independent Professional. The Headquarters and Regional Offices
assist the students and members in seeking Pre-Membership Training and placement respectively.

Employment Prospects:

Companies with a paid up share capital of `5 crore or more are compulsorily required to appoint a whole time Company Secretary who is a
member of ICSI.
All companies seeking listing on Stock Exchange are required to appoint a whole time Company Secretary.

Self-Employment/ Practising Company Secretaries:

After obtaining a 'Certificate of Practice' from the Institute, a member of the Institute can go for independent practice.
Every company having a paid up share capital of `10 lakh or more but less than `5 crore is required to engage the services of a Company
Secretary in Whole-time Practice for issue of Compliance Certificate.
