Answers

1. Entering /n in the Command Line followed by a transaction code, e.g IE03

(/nie03 or /NIE03) will transfer you from one screen to another in SAP without
having to step back screen by screen. Saves time. In this case you have 1 SAP
session open.
2. Entering /o in the Command Line followed by a transaction code, e.g IE03
(/oie03 or /OIE03) will open a new session and transfer you from one screen to
another in SAP without having to step back screen by screen. Saves time. In
this case you end up with 2 SAP sessions open.
3. The SEARCH_SAP_MENU transaction allows you to search for a path to a
specific transaction by searching via transaction code or transaction name
(wildcard search). Tip: add SEARCH_SAP_MENU to your Favorites, it is much
too long to type in the Command line over and over.
4. The Context menu is a summary of functions available via icons and menu
paths for the active screen. Every SAP screen has a different Context menu.
You get to the Context menu by right-clicking in a blank area of the screen (not in
the toolbar or in an input field).

Right mouse click

5. Use the Header row in any table. Drag and drop any column to move it, minimize
columns to hide them. The Basic setting is in place until you save the table
settings under another name by clicking on the table control icon:

Enter your own variant name, click on CREATE, then on SAVE. If there is a
checkmark in the box labeled 'Use as standard setting', your own table variant will
default the next time you use the transaction.

6. If a search is running for a very long time or you want to stop a transaction for
any reason, you can do so by right-clicking on the SAP session on the Windows
taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Choose Stop Transaction.

Right mouse click

7. The Ctrl+Y functionality allows you to highlight an area of the screen to copy.
Press Ctrl+Y in any SAP screen. Your cursor will change into the shape of a
cross. You can now highlight the area you want to copy. Press Ctrl+C to copy
the highlighted area. Switch to Excel or Word and press Ctrl+V to paste the
data.
8. If you enter LOCL in the field for Output Device when you print from within SAP,
the print job will be sent to your Windows default printer. You can check which
printer is your Windows default printer by choosing START -> SETTINGS ->
PRINTERS from the Windows taskbar.

The Windows default printer has a checkmark icon next to it.

9. For SAP GUI version 4.6D, the SAP font size (and color scheme) can be
changed by using the SAPGUI icon, located on the Windows taskbar at the
bottom of the screen.

If you have a SAP GUI version 6.2 or higher, the font size and colors can be
changed using the ‘rainbow’ icon and selecting ‘New Visual Design’.

10. If you want to display transaction codes in the SAP and Favorites menus, choose
EXTRAS -> SETTINGS, then add a checkmark in the box labeled "Display
Technical names". To hide the transaction codes, remove the checkmark in the
box.

11. If you want to display codes (keys) in dropdown lists, use the 'rainbow' icon on
the standard toolbar. Choose 'Options', then the 'Expert' tab. Add a checkmark
in the box labeled 'Show keys in all dropdown lists'.

12. If you want to close all folders in the SAP menu to clean it up and 'start from
scratch', choose this icon in the SAP Easy Access screen:
