PAHASARI DAM

BLOCK- MORAR DISTRICT-GWALIOR

a.Introduction
Phesari dam is an earthen dam which is constructed across Mahuar river in 9
oct.1989 And its main purpose is to feed the water into sank river through P.S.
canal. The sank river Discharges into Tigara dam(Reservoir) near Gwalior,
from which water is supplied to the Gwalior metro city. The period of feeding
water is July to September and it also fulfils the Irrigation requirement for Rabi
crops in the command area. The total irrigated area in Kharif &Rabi is 1620Ha.

Phesari dam stores water from a catchment area of ....sq.Km. If the reservoir
doesnt get filled from its own catchment, then it is additionally fed through
kaketo-phesari canal until filled upto FRL.

Length of concreting in canal repairing- Chainage 50 to 311
Duration of work- 18 months

d. Insitu physical status of work
The work of removing silt & old concrete dismantling was being done in
canal Mechanically and the preparation of Bed, slopes, also were being done
mechanically.

Silt deposited in the bed was removed.this job was done after making survey
i.e. Levelling of the canal section by auto- level upto specified chainage in the

form of L-section and cross-section by company engineer as well as
Departmental Engineers and for one day we also participated in this work.

The work of concreting in canal:-
First of all the Required M-20 concrete is prepared in batching plant by
automatic Mixer (.5 M3 in each mixing). This mix concrete is loaded in a truck
mounted mixer for transportation to the site carrying a full capacity of 5 Cubic
meter volume.
From this truck mounted mixer a 3-D machine(as shown in photograph) takes
bucketful concrete and places this concrete in slopes and bed of the canal ,where
skilled labourers and mesons spread it properly and compact. Curing is done on
the lining work of previous days

GENERAL REPORT

1. INTRODUCTION:-
The parsen village of morar block situated on bank

of river vaisali in Gwalior district. The area of parsen is mostly in
flat tarren.there are less irrigation facilities onlysmall tanks of small
bed cultivation ,tube wells are the main sources of irrigation ,and
ground water tableis at very low level.

There of in view of above honble minister of water resources
department ,Govt. Of M.P. pin pointed and suggested to find out the
possibilities of irrigation facilities to cultivation and to rise the the
ground water table of the area.

Hence feasibility survey of this tank is done and this scheme seems
to be fesiable.the initial proposal was on the old breached site.the
detail histry of that work was not found from any old record but
breached spillway at two places and masonary core well in one k.m.
are situated at site.the dam proposed with gated central spillway and
small height of earth dam on both flanks with these provisions, the
case administrative approval framed for the Rs. 543.04 lakhs inthe
year 2005.
In the initial construction stage of dam during inspection of S.E.
,C.E. foundation conditions are not seems to be feasible because of
sthat the other site 1 k.m. in U/S selected for construction of dam
and found more suitable than the previous site and work take up for
construction. the 40% work of earth dam in right flank done and
balance work of spillway and left earth dam with saddle in 585lenth
is balance. In all above changes and due to change in rates of U.S.R.
