Lesson Description
Students in pairs will use the Internet or their textbook
to investigate the organelles of plants or animal cells.
They will choose a project in which to document their
research from a choice of:
Five Project Options
1). Cell Analogies Book (in pairs or individually)
2). 3D Cell Model (in pairs or individually)
3). The Organelle Rap (groups 2-4)
4). Visiting the Cell Travel Brochure (individually)
5). Cell Song Video (groups of 2-4)

Achievement Indicators
Students who have fully met the prescribed learning
outcome are able to:
Summarize cell theory (e.g., recognize that all
living things are composed of cells, and all cells
come from pre-existing cells)
Accurately list similarities and differences between
cell types (plant and animal)
Describe the structure and function of cell
organelles (e.g., cell membrane, nucleus,
cytoplasm, mitochondrion, cell wall, chloroplast,
vacuole, ribosome)
