Can somebody please explain to me how getting rid of Net Neutrality makes any
fucking sense at all?
Here's how I see it:
I pay Comcast for 250GB of data at 50Mb/s every month. So right off the bat that
bandwidth is taken care of. I've payed for it.
Now Comcast and these assholes are saying "Hey, the people who provide that data
should pay us to get it to you!" This is like double jeopardy for billing.
Either I pay my ISP for the bandwidth, and get exactly what the hell I payed for, or
somebody else pays the bill and I don't have to give my ISP money for a service.
Now let's consider the fact that companies like Netflix have to already pay a
company like Level 3 to connect them to the internet to begin with. What Comcast,
Time Warner, Verizon, etc. are trying to do is just extort money from the content
providers. So not only am I already paying for a certain amount of bandwidth from my
ISP, but Netflix is already paying for bandwidth from its ISP (and its ISP is
actually providing that bandwidth). But now Comcast, TW, Verizon, et al are saying,
hey, look, both the content providers and the consumers are paying egregious amounts
of money for service already, let's charge the content providers to move their
traffic across our network so we can make even more money off of them because we're
a group of idiotic extortionists.
I'm sorry, but if Net Neutrality gets canned, there is a special place in hell for
some of you FCC assholes who formerly worked for the cable companies' lobbies. Not
to mention a ton of repercussions. Because people are going to be pissed at you. Let
me rephrase that--everybody will be pissed at you.

companies in america in customer service, power to slow down internet of people that
don't pay a premium for "fast" service, without them having the option to choose a
different internet provider? Does sound asinine to you, because it sure does to me.
Now I realize that they pay the government alot of money in lobbying to get what
they want, but I have a huge problem with all of it. I don't want to sit idly by and

This is the age of the internet, why do I even need a government official
representing me? Its clear that the people in charge aren't mature enough to handle

If left to run on their own greed, big internet service providers, most definitely
Comcast and Time Warner Cable will screw the citizens over with very expensive but
terrible service. To create an ISP takes massive amounts of resources to create,
just as it does to run Water, Electricity and Gas to households. But those have been
defined as utility's because of their high demand. Monopolies are nobody's friend
except for the CEO's of said company and the corrupt senate and house members who
take a check from their respective ISP's to ruin America's freedom and business
competition.
You cannot listen to the excuse that "A house doesn't need internet so it can't be a
utility." Well a house doesn't need any of the other utilities either.
I could let my water turn off and instead tote my water in from the lake in town.
Either by horse or car. Then I don't need a water bill.
I could let my electricity go and dress lightly in the hot summers or dress heavily
in the winters. Cook using a camp fire or brick oven and watch TV somewhere else.
I don't even have gas running to my apartment because it was not built into the
structure. So that's a utility that I am not paying for.
I don't even need internet running to my apartment, I could easily go to the library
for the resources I need when using the internet.
It's not a need that defines a utility. It's the service provided to the public.
Internet is provided to a vast majority of the citizens, who are paying so much for
so little.
Fuck you Verizon, I am giving every dime of my internet UTILITY to Google fiber as
soon as a bid is placed on my town.

Perhaps instead of focusing on a way to get the companies that already own 96% of
america to make more money and stifle internet start up companies that would like to
get ahead, we could instead make room for actual competition.
The whole "fast lane" idea is ridiculous, and it benefits no one except for the
companies that already run everything (Comcast and Time Warner Cable, hitherto
referenced as THE CANCER), which have absolutely no competition outside of
themselves, allowing this super-company to systematically raise prices and disallow
any excuse for customer satisfaction. It's at the point where THE CANCER is capable
of doing this because they know that their customer base will just take what they
can get.
America is currently the leader, thanks to THE CANCER, in having some of the worst
internet access in any developed country, costing orders of magnitude more for
access than in South Korea, and giving us a fraction of the speed (which given how
unreliable it is, I will be amazed if this statement is able to be posted on the
comments page).
Also, why WHY is TOM WHEELER the chair of the FCC? This is the most laughable thing
on the planet, that a lobbyist for THE CANCER is now the chairman of the FCC. This
is as stupid as appointing a tobacco lobbyist to the position of surgeon general.
Do everyone a favor and kill this "fast lane" nonsense, and while you're at it maybe
try to disassemble this hideous monopoly that THE CANCER has become.
