Brick Panels - Excluding Back-up Wall
Total Cost - $191,670
Advantages - Fast installment time and cuts
down on material waste.
Disadvantages - Very costly and requires
extra equipment to erect, along with longer
fabrication times
Brick Veneer - Excluding Back-up Wall
Total Cost - $47,619
Advantages - Brick provide more thermal
insulation when used with a cavity assembly
and are more aesthetically pleasing.
Disadvantages - Brick veneers require a CMU
or metal stud back-up wall, thus raising the
price of the system.
CMU Load-Bearing Exterior
Total Cost - $48,213
Advantages - A CMU exterior is more
effcient and does not require a secondary
back-up wall.
Disadvantages - It is more diffcult to
construct large openings because you risk the
load-bearing walls integrity.
Steel Frame w/ Stud Infll
Total - $194, 764
Advantages - Construction is fast and steel
frame allows for ease of design.
Disadvantages - Still have to have an infll
wall causing for higher cost and longer con
struction.
CMU Load- Bearing Masonry
Total - $150, 391
Advantages - CMUs offer more thermal insu
lation, acts as the structure, as well as the skin
of the building, and cuts down on material
quantities.
Disadvantages - Masonry walls require more
labor hours and skill to construct. Workability
can be harder with a large slanted roof.
