M1MU board and DIC3 board Replacement policy
They have adjustment value for YLEV, CLEV and Sub-HUE. The board which we will
provide has center (average) value for them as the service parts. But adjustment
values of analog RF input and analog CVBS input have large dispersion.
When M1MU board is changed, it should make a note of Sub RF and CVBS values
and copy to new board which was replaced by service mode.
When DIC3 is changed, it also should make a note of Main RF and CVBS adjusted
values and copy to new board both DRC On and DRC Off.
See the next page in detail. (Demonstration)
Other boards Replacement policy
Basically, when other boards are changed, it has no need to change any data. So you
can replace without any operations.

LED Power Error (Red / Green Alternate Blinking)
Detect error for provided SUB 11V to LC Board. It maybe caused by loose harness
between G2L Board and LC Board, LC Board failure, or G2L Board failure.
8-1.Self-diagnosis (Error status overviewfor Display)
Fan /Temp Error (Red Flashes 2 times)
It maybe caused by FAN, connected harness to the FAN,or error detected for
FAN drive circuit on G2L Board. Inside of the unit temparature goes to high by
unit location environment.
Refer to the other document. (Display Power circuit/Trouble shoot flow)
CUC Error (Red Flashes 5 times)
It maybe caused by FPGA for Color balance(mura) correction circuit. Or NVM
data for color balance(mura) correction unreadable.
In this case, DE6 Board replacement needed.
Power Error (Red Flashes 6 times)
It maybe caused by G2L Board failure, DD converter circuit failure on DE6 Board.
Refer to the other document. (Display Power circuit/Trouble shoot flow)

Audio Protection (Red Flashes 7 times)
It maybe caused by detected SP out DC, K Board fialure, Audio VCC,
detected Sub 11V short.
8-1.Self-diagnosis (Error status overviewfor Display)
LED Error (Red Flashes 9 times)
It maybe caused by LCD Module.
How to LCDmodule (panel) replacement is investigating.
Panel Power Error (Red Flashes 11 times)
Detect error of PVCC=5V to provide voltage for LCD panel
It maybe caused by Harness short inside LVDS harness, defect LCDpanel,
G2L Board failure.

LED BL Model
Color Uniformity Compensation
CUC)
10-1.Color Uniformity Compensation
KDX-46Q005 service Training 160
The purpose of CUC
Japan model in 2004 has red area (bad uniformity) on panel.
And we tried to improve LED-BL but its not enough.
Sony Manufacturing Systems (SMS) is manufacturer of LED-BL in Japan.
The yield of LED-BL in SMS is about 50% in March in 2005.
Improving the yield of LED-BL and decreasing loss of money
in SMS and Micro Systems Network Company (MSNC).
The MSNC is a part of SONY corporation.
The yield of LED-BL for US model in SMS is about 90%.
Improving color uniformity will upgrade quality performance.

FAQ in INY factory
Areas between the compensation points The areas of between compensation points are calculated with linear interpolation.
100% signal will make saturation ? Not full scale signal, for example 240/255 white signal should be used with adjusting.
Range of compensation
The system could adjust about 8bit/10bit (-12.5% - +12.5%), But full scale compensation will make side effects for
example bad uniformity in middle intensity or low intensity picture. So, about 6bit/10bit is limitation of compensation.
A sample panel which has bad uniformity was about 6bit/10bit.
10bit Full-scale is 2005 model. In this case, DE6 board and 2004 model has just 8bit RGB data. Then, compensation
system could has 6bit compensation with 8bit data (6bit/8bit). And desirable amount of compensation is about 4bit
with 8bit RGB data (4bit/8bit).
Valiance of compensation with intensity (Y, or R,G,B) Amount of compensation related with R,G,B with Gamma () ROM
If compensation is not possible with just R and B FPGA has switching function RG or GB compensation. There are just
two compensation datas. (RB, or RG, or GB).
