A STRONG COMPANY
BACKGROUND
SMS Mevac is responsible for secondary metallurgy
within SMS Siemag AG, a leading global specialist
in steelmaking plants and rolling mill technologies.
Our plants fully meet the requirements of all steel
producers worldwide.
The term Mevac in our company name is derived
from two sources: Standard Messo, founded in
1960, and Vacmetal, founded in 1969, both providing
pioneering solutions for secondary metallurgical
processes. They merged to form Mevac in 1999.
AN HOLISTIC APPROACH
Our target is to deliver outstanding solutions in
secondary metallurgy, adding substantial value to
your steel. To achieve this goal, we balance process
technologies, market requirements, customer
