HOW TO WRITE A SUMMARY

1. This is for weak students so, if they are discouraged for not understanding the text and the question, there
are ways for them to get marks. Let the students know that summary is an easy task to score.
2. Let them know how the marking scheme is.
3. Make sure the students know that the points are only taken from line to line
SOOOOOO.
4. The first 10 words to start the summary are already given. YOU MUST WRITE THE SENTENCE BACK
5. Usually, the first sentence for every paragraph is the content
(Unless of course if they have: for example, dialogue, such as. Then you dont have to write the remaining
words. Those are just elaboration)
6. Pick 10 sentences and Put all of them in brackets. DO NOT WRITE THEM DOWN YET.
7. Count the words in brackets.
8. Then, do a 5 x 27 table. Filled the first 10 boxes with the given 10 words.
9. Remember, if you want 3 marks for Language Aspect, change the sentence.
This is how you change the sentence.
Use: Firstly, next, Besides, Moreover, Furthermore, Plus, Additionally/In addition
10. If you want 4 marks for Language Aspect, combine the sentences/points using:
Firstly, Next.and., Besides, Moreover.and, Furthermore, Additionally.and, Lastly
Therefore, all 10 sentences are reduced to only 7 sentences.
11. DO NOT choose a very long sentence. That is why you put them in brackets. It helps you to choose which
point has lesser words and not exceeding the word quota.
12. You should have 10 given words + 10 linkers and conjunctions so at the end, you may have, give or take, only
110 words for content. 10+10+110(points)=130
13. If you exceed the 130 words and no time to erase some, be honest in your word count.

SECTION C (UJIAN AWAL TAHUN)
It is not an easy task to be a good sportsman. What is actually
sportsmanship? A good sportsmanship is the quality of someone
who is inclined to the area of sports and plays rather fairly by
following the rules of the game. Besides, the sportsman respects
the judgment of the referees and all the officials in the game,
knowing that they are not biased. A good sportsman will also treat
the opponents with respect.
Practising good sportsmanship in real-life situations is not easy,
however, there are some guidelines in which one can follow.
Firstly, it is of the utmost importance to learn as much of the
sports as possible. This is because a good sportsman should play by
the rules. The sportsman must be cooperative by showing up for
practice, working hard and realizing that teamwork is important to
ensure success.
In addition, it is important to talk politely and act courteously
towards ALL (the teammates, the opponents, the coaches and even
the opponents coaches) before, during and even after the games
or events. Furthermore, never forget to get in touch with the
officials presiding over the game and also the spectators.
Remember to stay cool. Never ever lose your temper. A good
sportsman should not give up easily. A game is only a game and the
chances of winning are fifty-fifty, so no matter how hard you have
played the game, be realistic. Remember that there is a winner and
a loser in a game. No one likes to lose, but learn to take defeat as a
challenge.
Another thing a good sportsman must remember is to avoid
settling disputes with violence. In case there is such a dispute, seek
the advice of a coach or an official. If you respond with violence,
the problem is that as a sportsman, you can be penalized. The
effect is that your chances in winning a game are very slim.
It is important to cheer your teammates with positive
statements. Every member in the team is important. It is good to
avoid trash talking about the other team.
Moreover, remember to acknowledge and applaud the good
plays. If your team loses the game, do not feel disappointed. A
good play should be given the credit.
Lastly, congratulate your opponents if they win the game. Learn
to accept defeat gracefully. Congratulate your opponents on a
game well-played.
