Eric Deng Accepts Stamps Leadership Scholarship to
USC

FREMONT, Calif., June 18, 2014 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE)
-- Mr. Eric Deng, a high school senior from Mission San Jose
High School in Fremont, Calif., has chosen to enroll at the
University of Southern California as a Stamps Leadership
Scholar. The value of the Stamps Leadership Scholarship for
four years at USC is worth up to approximately $202,000,
including enrichment funds for international travel, research
internships, and outdoor leadership experiences. Eric was
chosen for his leadership, scholarship, perseverance, service,
and creativity.
Eric is the child of Tao Deng and Yalin Hu. Eric's recent activities
and honors include: Lockheed Martin National Merit Scholarship
Winner, USC WVT Rusch Undergraduate Scholar, USC Viterbi
School of Engineering Undergraduate Fellow, National Honors
Society, 18U Junior Olympics Competitor (Water Polo), and Above and Beyond Community Service Award. Eric plans on
studying Mechanical Engineering.
The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation partners with 41 visionary colleges and universities to award multi-year
scholarships that enable extraordinary educational experiences. Of approximately 600,000 applications reviewed for
consideration in 2014, 188 were selected as Stamps Leadership Scholars-less than .033 percent of the applicant pool.
The new recipients, whose combined Stamps awards are worth almost $28 million, join nearly 550 Stamps Leadership
Scholars and alumni as beneficiaries of these generous merit awards.

Stamps Leadership Scholars are driven and talented individuals with proven leadership skills who are supported by multi-year
awards to work toward their long-term goals. The 160 Stamps Scholar alumni include three Rhodes Scholars, two Fulbright
