2. Thefacts of this caseare:
Inthefall of2007, I attended theUniversity of Maryland School of Law. At theconclusion of
my first semester at the school (in December 2007), I decided to withdraw. I made my
intention known verbally to a member of theadministrative staff at that time and concluded any
I and all involvement with the school thereafter.
I
: InMarch of2014, I applied to Thomas M. Cooley Law School. As part of theapplication process,
. that school requested aletter of good standing fromtheUniversity of Maryland School of Law.
I forwarded this request to theUniversity of Maryland School of LawOffice of Registration and
~ Enrollment, but a representative from that office told me that I was ineligible to receive a letter of
I
good standing due tomy dismissal fromtheUniversity of Maryland Law School.
I then requested a meeting with a member of theschool's administration and met with Associate
Dean Susan Krinsky, who informed me that I was automatically enrolled in the school for the
spring semester of 2008 and, since I was unaware of said enrollment, consequently received
failing grades and was academically dismissed or excluded from the school.
This exclusion fromtheUniversity of Maryland School of Lawand thesubsequent refusal
to provide mewith aletter of good standing hasjeopardized my property and liberty interests
in further pursuit of a legal education and legal career. I believe that the initial academic dismissal
violated my dueprocess rights under theFourteenth Amendment to theUnited States
Constitution by failing toadequately provide mewithnotice andanopportunity tobeheard
by a neutral decision-maker.
