The barricade is to enclose the swing radius of the heavy equipment involved; only personnel working on task are permitted in the zone. Warning signs and safety reminder signs will be established in clear and noticeable location.
8.0 Work Procedure/ Methodology
Delivery, Handling and Storage
8.1 Delivery, handling and storage of materials shall be in labeled packages, stored and handled in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Protect from weather and excessive temperature and construction operations. 8.2 Examine substrates area and conditions with installer present for compliance with requirements and other conditions affecting performance. Verify the concrete is cured and substrate is visibly dry and free of moisture. Pile Head Surface Preparation 8.3 Cut away pile head surfaces up to 15mm at areas to be repaired in order to provide square edges and avoid feather edging. Remove surface laitance, dust and other contaminants. 8.4 Construct formwork around pile head to form and contain the grout encapsulation materials. Seal formwork joints to make them leak proof and apply form release to prevent adhesion of formed surfaces.. Substrate Surface Preparation to received Waterproofing 8.5 Clean the substrates to remove excessive dirt, loose particles, and deleterious materials. 8.6 Concrete should have smooth surface free of protrusions and loose aggregates and structurally sound concrete surface. 8.7 Dry the substrate as required free of moisture detrimental to the installation of waterproofing. 8.7 Clean the substrates to remove excessive dirt, loose particles, and deleterious materials. 8.8 Concrete should have smooth surface free of protrusions and loose aggregates and structurally sound concrete surface. 8.9 Dry the substrate as required free of moisture detrimental to the installation of waterproofing. 8.10 Provide sealant cants around penetrations and at side corners of deck to wall butt joints when recommended by the manufacturers. Joint and Crack Treatment 8.11 Prepare, treat, grout and fill joints and cracks in substrates and remove dust and dirts before coating surfaces with primer. Waterproofing, Pre applied Vertical Applications 8.12 Clean the substrates to remove excessive dirt, loose particles, and deleterious materials. 8.13 Concrete should have smooth surface free of protrusions and loose aggregates and structurally sound concrete surface. 8.14 Dry the substrate as required free of moisture detrimental to the installation of waterproofing. 8.15 Apply membrane accurately positioned in subsequent sheets to overlap the previous sheet by 75- 100mm along the edge. Ensure the underside of the succeeding sheet is clean, dry and free from contamination before overlap. 8.16 Peel back the plastic release liner from between the overlaps as the two layers are bonded together. 8.17 Apply succeeding sheets by overlapping the previous sheet by 75-100mm along uncoated edge of the membrane. Side laps must be firmly rolled to ensure a tight seal. Apply joint tale centered over the end lap and roll firmly to ensure a tight seal than remove release liner.. Waterproofing, Pre applied Horizontal Applications 8.18 Clean the substrates to remove excessive dirt, loose particles, and deleterious materials. 8.19 Concrete should have smooth surface free of protrusions and loose aggregates and structurally sound concrete surface. 8.20 Dry the substrate as required free of moisture detrimental to the installation of waterproofing. 8.21 Apply membrane facing the prepared substrate. Remove release liner during application. 8.22 Apply succeeding sheets by overlapping the previous sheets 75-100mm along the uncoated edge of membrane. Lap area must be firmly rolled to ensure a tight seal. ENGINNER

8.23 Overlap the ends of the membrane a minimum of 75-100mm and apply joint tape centered over the lap and roll firmly to ensure tight seal. Waterproofing, Post Applied Applications 8.24 Clean the substrates to remove excessive dirt, loose particles, and deleterious materials. 8.25 Concrete should have smooth surface free of protrusions and loose aggregates and structurally sound concrete surface. 8.26 Dry the substrate as required free of moisture detrimental to the installation of waterproofing. 8 27 Apply primer at the rate recommended, recoat areas no waterproof if contaminated by dust and avoid excessive application of primer. 8.28Apply firmly adhere sheets over area to receive waterproofing. Accurately align sheets and maintain uniform minimum 64mm lap widths and ends. Overlap and seal seams and stagger end laps to ensure laps shed water. 8.29 Apply protection board and related materials as per manufacturer recommendations. Curing, Protection and Cleaning 8.30 Do not permit foot or vehicular traffic on unprotected membrane. 8.31 Protect installed waterproofing membrane from damage due to ultra violet light, harmful weather exposure, excessive heat, physical abuse and any other causes.
