PURPOSE: To consider approving conveyance of property that qualifies as a park under O.C.G.A. Section 36-
31-11.1, (Park Properties) to the City of Brookhaven.



NEED/IMPACT:

As allowed by state law, O.C.G.A. Section 36-31-11.1, in March of 2014, the City of Brookhaven notified the
County of its intent to acquire various parcels of county-owned property within the City limits. The attached
Schedule I dated J une 12, 2014 lists various Park Properties for the Governing Authoritys review and possible
conveyance to the City of Brookhaven. The Chief Operating Officer and the County Attorney will continue to
negotiate with the City Attorney and the City Manager concerning the remaining requested properties.


RECOMMENDATION(S): Authorize the County Attorney to complete necessary due diligence and convey
by quitclaim deed the Park Properties listed in the attached Schedule I dated J une 12, 2014, and authorize the
Interim Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
