Installing AGU Third Edition
TheinstallationofAGUThirdEditionconsistsoftwoseparatecomponents:
theAGUThirdEditioncontent
theAGUThirdEditionapplication
Westrongly recommend thatyouinstallthesecomponentstothefolderssuggested
duringtheinstallationprocess(defaultlocations).

Windows XP, Vista and 7 users

Youneedtohaveadministratorrightsonyourcomputertocompletetheinstallation.On
mostcomputers,theinstallationwillstartautomaticallywhenyouplacethediscintothe
CDROMdrive.Ifitdoesnot:
1. OpentheStartmenuandclickonMy Computer,ordoubleclickontheMy Computer
icononthedesktop.
2. DoubleclickontheCDROMicon.
3. DoubleclickontheAGUThirdEdition.exefileandfollowtheonscreeninstructions.
Windows 8 users
Youneedtohaveadministratorrightsonyourcomputertocompletetheinstallation.On
mostcomputers,theinstallationwillstartautomaticallywhenyouplacethediscintothe
CDROMdrive,howeverifyouhavenotchangedthecompatibilitymodeoftheAGU
softwarebeforehand,theinstallationwillnotcompletesuccessfully.Tochangethe
compatibilitymode:
1. OpentheDesktopapp,thenopentheStartmenuandclickonMyComputer.
2. RightclickontheCDROMicon(AGU)andchooseOpen.
3. RightclickontheAGUThirdEditioniconandselectProperties.
4. GotothesecondtabCompatibility,andtickthecheckboxunderneathCompatibility
Mode.
5. SelectWindows7fromthedropdownboxunderneaththecheckbox
6. SelectOKtosavethesesettings,andthenlaunchthesoftwareusingthe
AGUThirdEditionicon.
Mac users
1. InsertthediscintoyourCDROMdrive.
2. DoubleclicktheAGUThirdEdition CDROMicononyourdesktoptoopenit.
3. DoubleclicktheAGUThirdEdition applicationiconandfollowtheonscreen
instructions.

Installing AGUThirdEdition to non-default locations
IfyouwishtoinstalltheAGUThirdEditioncomponentstodifferentlocations,youmust
makesurethat:
a) youchooseadifferentlocationfortheAGUThirdEdition'application'(the
secondcomponentinstalled)fromthefolderthatyouchosefortheAGUThird
Edition'content'(thefirstcomponentinstalled).TheAGUThirdEdition
applicationfoldercannotbeinlocatedwithintheAGUThirdEditioncontent
folder!
b) yourememberwhereyouchosetoinstallAGUThirdEditionapplicationand
AGUThirdEditioncontent,asyouwillbeaskedtonavigatetothesefolders
everytimeyouuseAGUThirdEdition (seetheimageonthenextpage).





















Clearing user scores
AGUThirdEditiondisplaysinformationabouttheusersscoresintheProgress screen.If
youwouldliketoremoveallscoreinformationfromthisscreen,youcandothisatany
timebyfollowingthestepsbelow:
1. CloseAGUThirdEditionifitisopen.
2. WindowsXP:gotoC:\DocumentsandSettings\[user_name]\ApplicationData
WindowsVistaand7:gotoC:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming
Mac:gotoUsers/[user_name]/Library/Preferences
3. FindafolderwithAGUThirdEditioninitsnameanddeleteit.

NotethatApplication Dataand AppDatafoldersmaybehidden.Tounhidethesefolders

(andothers),openFolder OptionsintheControl Panel,andontheViewtab,changethe
optiontoShowhiddenfilesandfolders,andclickOK.

Uninstalling AGU Third Edition
TheinstallationofAGUThirdEditionconsistsoftwoparts:

TocompletelyuninstalltheAGUThirdEditionsoftware,youmustuninstallbothpartsby
followingthestepsonthenextpage:

Windows users
1. CloseAGUThirdEditionifyouarerunningit.
2. FromtheStartmenu,opentheControl Panel.
3. DoubleclickAdd or Remove Programs(WindowsXP)orProgramsandthenPrograms
and Features(WindowsVistaand7);
4. FindAGU Third Edition applicationintheproductslistandclickittohighlightit.
5. ClickRemove(WindowsXP)orUninstall(WindowsVistaand7).TheAGU Third
Edition applicationisremoved.
6. Next,clickonAGU Third Edition contenttohighlightit,clickChange/Remove
(WindowsXP)orUninstall(WindowsVistaand7)andfollowtheonscreen
instructions.
Mac users
1. CloseAGUThirdEditionifyouarerunningit.
2. InyourMac'sApplicationsfolder,navigatetothefollowingfolder:Cambridge /
CambridgeContent / Uninstall_AGU Third Edition content.
3. OpentheUninstall_AGU Third Edition contentfolder,doubleclickthefilecalled
Uninstall AGU Third Edition content,thenfollowtheonscreeninstructions.
4. Oncetheuninstallationprocedurehasfinished,gobacktotheCambridgefolder.In
thisfolder,findtheAGU Third Edition application icon.DragthisiconintotheTrash
tocompletetheAGUThirdEditionuninstallation.

RemovingInstallationinstructions
YouwillneedtomanuallyremovethefileInstallationinstructionsfromyoursystemifitis
nolongerneeded.TheInstallationinstructionsfileislocatedwheretheAGUThirdEdition
content wascopiedduringinstallation(Forexample,inWindowsifyouchosethedefault
location,thenInstallationinstructionswillbeinC:\Program
Files\Cambridge\CambridgeContent).

(a)TheCDROMissuppliedasiswithnoexpressguaranteeastoitssuitability.Totheextentpermittedby

ofanykindwhatsoeverresultingfromtheuseofthisproduct,orerrorsorfaultsintheCDROM,andin
everycasetheLicensorsliabilityshallbelimitedtothesuggestedlistpriceortheamountactuallypaidby
Youfortheproduct,whicheverislower.
(b)YouacceptthattheLicensorisnotresponsibleforthepersistency,accuracyoravailabilityofanyURLsof

contentonsuchwebsitesis,orwillremain,accurate,appropriateoravailable.TheLicensorshallnotbe

ThisagreementisgovernedbythelawsofEngland,withoutregardtoitsconflictoflawsprovision,andeach

applicationoftheUnitedNationsConventionontheInternationalSaleofGoods.
