EYE EXposures
Statements in these

NON-IRRITANT OR VERY MILD IRRITANT, AND NON-TOXIC GAS OR LIQUID? P
If irritation occurs, cautiously rinse eyes with lukewarm, gently flowing water for 5 minutes, while holding the eyelids
open. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

NON-IRRITANT OR VERY MILD IRRITANT, AND NON-TOXIC SOLID?
Gently brush product off face. Do not rub eyes. Let the eyes water naturally for a few minutes. Look right and left, then
up and down. If particle/dust does not come out, cautiously rinse eyes with lukewarm, gently flowing water for 5 minutes
or until particle/dust is removed, while holding the eyelids open. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
Do not attempt to manually remove anything from the eyes.

INSOLUBLE IN OR REACTS HAZARDOUSLY WITH WATER?
Gently blot or brush chemical off the face.

THREAT TO RESCUER VIA SKIN CONTACT?
Avoid direct contact. Wear chemical protective gloves, if necessary.

SERIOUS EYE DAMAGE (CORROSIVE)?
{Remove source of exposure or move person to fresh air.} Rinse eyes cautiously with lukewarm, gently flowing water for
several minutes, while holding the eyelids open. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing*
Take care not to rinse contaminated water into the unaffected eye or onto the face.
Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor/.* *consider specifying a flushing duration of 30 minutes
(for most corrosives), or 60 minutes (for strong alkalies), or that rinsing continue until medical aid is available.

IRRITANT OR SERIOUS IRRITANT?

FLAMMABLE?
Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so.

THREAT TO RESCUER IF INHALED (e.g. knock-down?)
Take precautions to ensure your own safety before attempting rescue (e.g. wear appropriate protective equipment, use
the buddy system).

RESPIRATORY SENSITIZER?
Remove source of exposure or move person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If experiencing respiratory
symptoms:
Call a POISON CENTER/doctor/.* If breathing is difficult, trained personnel should administer emergency oxygen if
advised to do so by the POISON CENTER/doctor/.*

SKIN EXPOSURES

NON-IRRITANT OR MILD IRRITANT, NON-TOXIC AND NO FIRE OR REACTIVITY HAZARDS?
Rinse/wash with lukewarm, gently flowing water (and mild soap} for 5 minutes or until product is removed. If skin
irritation occurs or you feel unwell: Get medical advice/attention.

THREAT TO RESCUER VIA SKIN CONTACT?
Avoid direct contact. Wear chemical protective clothing, if necessary.

FLAMMABLE LIQUID OR OXIDIZER?
Take off immediately contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower {and mild soap} for 5 minutes or until product
is removed. Store contaminated clothing under water and wash before re-use {or discard}.

PYROPHORIC OR EMITS FLAMMABLE GAS?
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
{Brush off loose particles from skin.} Immerse in cool water/wrap in wet bandages. Store clothing under water and wash
clothing before re-use {or discard}.

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing, shoes and leather goods (e.g. watchbands, belts).
