Welcome and Credits

Welcome to yet another Mu Guide. This is an ever-evolving project, and I cannot wait to see
how it goes! Keep in mind, this can be inaccurate its only meant as a general guide.

Why dont I add more about Tarkan and Icarus and high level maps? Because this is a guide to
get you all started! =) There are basics for a lot of things in here, but I dont include many things
because after some point in time, Id hope youd explore and understand the game on your own
pretty well (especially by the time you reach level 250 and pick up second-level wings!) =P

Thanks to all who contributed (or placed into posts for me to find) to this writing (either Mu
Global names or MuHQ nicks), and thanks to all the people who showed me all the items that I
did not have (jewels, lol). If you see yourself here and do not know why you are on here it is
because at some point you posted something that I learned from =) If I forgot you, my apologies
its been a long day =D

Introduction to the Game The Story & Account Creation
The Story

MU, a 3D online game produced by Webzen is a full on
3D MMORPG that is the first of its kind developed in Korea.
MU is a highly involved fantasy Role Playing Game based on
the legendary Continent of MU. You are given the choice of
selecting between one of four classes, Dark Knight, Fairy,
Dark Sorcerer and Magic Gladiator, and become a daring
adventurer in the quest to save the land of MU. The beautiful
surroundings made in full and glorious 3D was once unheard
of and hardly imaginable but with the ingenious implementation of the Open GL Full 3D
Engine technology developed by Webzen makes the impossible possible. What lies behind
the legends and mysteries of MU? Let the journey begin!

Much time has passed since the millennia old Empire of MU lost complete and utter control
over the Continent. While the power of the central government of MU continued to wane,
feudal lords became engrossed and engaged in an inner turmoil over control of MU,
destroying the foundations of its society. Over time, the bloody feuds and civil wars
destroyed and ravaged the once beautiful land of MU and it is during this time, amidst the
blood and tears associated with such conflicts, amidst the petty ambitions of men and those
who would be more than man that a dark and ominous shadow falls over the whole of MU.

Antonias, a feudal lord, overwrought with his burning ambition to control the land called MU
was at once easily deceived by an evil sorcerer named Lemulia who through Antonias
obsession was able to bring Kundun, the Devil of Darkness, back to life. Upon seeing his
lovely daughter torn apart limb by limb by Kundun, Antonias wept tears of blood and
lamented his fate and his ill decisions. In the end all was for naught, as his meaningless death
by the hands of the evil sorceress Lemulia did not lessen his crime of reviving the Devil of
Darkness, Kundun.

There is but only one path of hope for the Land of MU. But who will take the task of
discovering the 8 Sealing Stones that have been scattered across the continent of MU. Who
will once Seal the demon Kundun and restore the land to its once former beauty? Will it be
YOU? The Devil of Darkness has already begun to take action to obliterate the Continent of
MU. Receive thy Quest! Only the sword in your hand can banish Kundun and his evil
minions once more.

Combination of 100,000 items

You must be sick and tired of online games where the same
old plain-jane characters wander about. In MU, it is all but
impossible to find the same character, whether it be strictly on
a visual aspect or in playing ability. MU has over 100,000
combinations of armors, weapons and defensive tools. Each
weapon has their own potential level and is expressed in a
smorgasbord of color. Therefore, as you slowly and lovingly
build your character, you will be amazed and overwhelmed by
the majesty of your efforts.

Real weather effects

The Continent of MU is a world in which natural weather
phenomena not unlike the real world is readily available. For
example, while adventuring in Lorencia, you can expect to
meet sudden torrential rainfalls, and in snowy areas like
Devias, you must bravely face vast and seemingly never-
ending snowstorms. Do not be shocked by the beauty,
serenity and glory that can be found within the natural
environments of MU. Although MU may just be a game, the
sight of reeds swaying against the southeast winds on the
plains of Lorencia, or the view of blindingly white
snowstorms in Devias, or the shimmering ocean currents of
the underwater city of Atlans will blur that thin line between
mere reality and the fantastic yet almost touchable world that
is MU.

Easy operation like an action game

The game play Interface presented in MU has been optimized so that anyone can enjoy the game
without the need of professional help. Once you begin your adventure to save the land of MU
from the evil clutches of Kundun, you will find that there will be no need to study the basics of
the program, nor any sort of overly complicated rules. You can enjoy MU as easily as a normal
action game. MU is a Hack & Slash type RPG game that consists of a combat style that requires
MuGuide v0.3 by blatin356

the use of attack and evasion. These types of RPG games, which is often referred to as an action
RPG, often places great value on action disregarding the concept of growth. However, MU has
succeeded in both areas with excellent marks. Would you like to know and FEEL what defines
the concept of a true action online RPG game? If so, join us in the world of MU.

Introduction to the Game Installation

Mus a pretty big game. Few will find a free game quite like this!

There are multiple steps, from downloading, to installing, and troubleshooting errors that come
up!
Muonline.com download
Connect to the MU website, at www.Muonline.com, and click Download on the Databox
menu. Click your mouse on the file (The name of the MU Install File can be different if a Patch
is applied.) This will require having an account.

Alterative FTP Download
Go to ftp://muonline.nefficient.co.kr/pub/muonline/Global/ (open this in Internet Explorer or
another FTP-enabled web browser).

Download the most current version of the full (v. 98i as of this writing), and all the patches
afterwards.

WARNING!: Do not download the game from unknown sites, as they may have keyloggers
or other harmful things built into them!
MuGuide v0.3 by blatin356
- 13 -

Save and Install
Click on the appropriate link (whichever one you want).
Select the folder you want to save the file into that location.
This will set the folder that you wish to save the Install File and click Save.
Please make sure to remember its location.
Once the download is completed, press Open, or find the file and double-click it to run.
Once you press the Open button or run the file, installation will begin. Press Next.
You will be asked to review and agree to the Mu Online contract. Press Y.
This will set the folder that MU is to be installed in. Screenshots will also be saved here,
so it would be wise to remember its location. In order to designate another folder, press
Find. Once you finish all settings, press Next.
Installation is complete. Please wait until the mark reaches 100%.

Firewall Notes
If you have a firewall, you will want to open Ports 44405 and 55901, and allow application files

gameguard.des mu.exe main.exe

Allow those files through to the internet (server & application) in order to connect to MuGlobals
servers.

MuGuide v0.3 by blatin356
- 14 -

Fonts
Mu is a very finicky game with Fonts. Windows XP suffers an aliasing problem with the fonts if
youre on a default setting. You will be unable to read the fonts if you do not adjust settings in
Windows XP (Home, Professional and 64-bit).

To adjust:

1) Right-click on your desktop
2) Go to Properties
3) Go to Appearance
4) Click on effects button
5) Under use the following method to display..... Choose NORMAL
6) Click Apply
Graphics Problems
Check out Veg12s guide at http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9207 first.

About 50% of the time, updating your graphics drivers will work. The other 50% of the time,
downgrading to a previous version will work.

Reinstalling the Game
If youre reinstalling the game, make sure you follow these steps:
1. Go to the FTP to download the .EXE files.
2. Make sure you uninstall the game from Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel
3. Delete the directory (C:\Program Files\Webzen) from your computer
This clears out all the old game data.
4. Restart.
5. Reinstall using the full version available (v. 98i as of this writing) and apply patches in
order, restarting between each.

This works 99% of the time. Make sure you clear out viruses, key loggers, spyware, adware, and
malware from your system they can adversely affect the way MuGlobal runs.

Use a full antivirus like Norton or McAffee for viruses and worms, HijackThis! for key
loggers, and Lavasoft USAs Adaware and SpyBot Search & Destroy to remove ad-/malware.

All other problems

Post on the Mu HQ (unofficial fan site) Tech Center & Forums
(http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?showforum=8 ) if you have unusual problems with your
installs.

Troubleshooting tip: If it is in the game, hit the Print Screen button, located above your arrow
keys, usually beside your Scroll Lock. That saves a Print Screen to the Mu directory (usually
c:\program files\webzen\mu\) Also, if you have difficulty taking a screenshot, try holding down
the button for a second or two (it is delayed on some computers).

Troubleshooting tip: If you cannot get the .zip files to work, download the .exe files they have
a better chance of working (but are slightly larger).

Troubleshooting tip: If you are running on a very old system or one that has lag, you may want
to turn of all sound and music features, as well as the chatting system.

Troubleshooting tip: If you cant connect, make sure it isnt maintenance time! They usually do
this at 8a-9a Korean Time (GMT+9). For a clock, check:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=235 (courtesy of BloodDonor)

Troubleshooting tip: If youre having a slow network problem, and its not fixed by the above,
you can try going to www.dslreports.com and selecting DrTCP to see if you can adjust your TCP
windows. (courtesy of Loonie)

Introduction WebZen and MuGlobal

This is a self-written section to explain exactly what WebZen has to do with MuGlobal, and vice
versa. I hope that this answers those questions about when MuGlobal is going P2P (Pay to Play).

WebZen is a software company. They write software, then they license out the server version of
Mu to companies, and they give those companies exclusive jurisdiction over areas. Of note, Mu
China, Mu Taiwan, Mu J apan, Mu Thailand, Mu Philippines, Mu Korea, and Mu Vietnam
(coming) are all current versions of official Mu servers.

MuGlobal is a free beta (hence, we are always behind on the server patches and maps available).
It is a display piece, a sugarcoated lure to get companies to buy the product. It is open to all
players in all countries not already covered by a P2P server. Hence, unless WebZen changes
their policy, MuGlobal will always be free. If North/Central/South America and Europe get
servers for Mu (if ever), MuGlobal will cease to exist for all practical purposes.

WebZens address is: http://www.webzen.com (another Flash-required site)
English Version is: http://www.webzen.com/eng/
Their contact number is: +82-2-3498-6874
(careful, this can be a very expensive international call!)

They create software, they do not run it (other than their betas).

This is their business strategy (found on their website).

They create software, not run it.

Getting Started in Mu

You have finally gotten your account settled, your Ts crossed and your Is dotted. Now its
time to play! However, wait; there are still a few things to do

Open Mu

Start by Looking for the Mu icon on your desktop. It should look like this:

If you do not have this icon, you may want to look in Start > (All) Programs > Mu online.

Double click this file to open it. (Note, Mu runs full-screen!)

First thing you may notice is that nProtects Game
Guard pops up. This is normal. This program tries to
protect the game from cheaters.

This is updated slightly more frequently than the
game patching itself, and done usually by nProtect,
not WebZen.

Let it update (you may see a small windows like this pop up)
It will say Connecting, Checking, Resolving, Authorizing,
not necessarily in that order.

Wait for it to finish downloading any updates.

MuGuide v0.3 by blatin356
- 20 -

Mu Updates
The next thing you will notice is that another window pops up, the MU Auto Update window.

It looks something like this:

This may update your
software further (the two
bars towards the bottom
are indicator bars).

The Connect button will
appear when the server
connection is
established, and will also
not appear until the
game is updated.

This window will tell
you about connection
failures, or update
failures.

Also, Mu news will be
on the scrolling window.
This can also be in
Korean if you
downloaded the wrong
version at some point.

Yes, connection is
misspelled in the
window.

First thing you want to do is click on Option.
MuGuide v0.3 by blatin356
- 21 -
Mu Options
The first thing you will
note is that you can
automatically put your
account ID into the
system to have it
automatically entered on
your login.

Make sure you set the
appropriate resolution!
Changing the resolution
will make it impossible
to play.

Turn off Sound if your
system is slow.

Disable chatting window
if you are having
problems getting into the
game (or dont want to
talk to people).

Also check your Sound On/Off settings. Music is now included as of Oct 31, 2005 (thanks to
Krauser).

Click Apply, and then return to your window.

Congratulations! You have now configured Mu to work for your machine.

Start Mu by hitting the Connect button.

Mu Main Page & Exiting the Game
One Mu has loaded, it looks a bit like this:

Hit Escape once. That brings up your in-game menu.
It also lets you Exit the Game!

Click on Option

Also, if you have turned Sound on, check the Volume. It is
usually set at minimum (virtually no sound). You can turn
on Slide Help and Beeps and Automatic Attack here, too.

Maya or Wigle?

Your next big choice lies ahead of you! Selecting Maya and Wigle is no small task. Characters
made on Maya do not exist on Wigle, and vice versa. However, your account name is still the
same on both!

Some points about the servers:

- Wigle is newer than Maya (although it has more servers).
- The prices in Wigle are cheaper because there is less net wealth (less time for zen and
jewels to accumulate, less inflation check out Economics for theory).
- Characters tend to be overall at a higher level on Maya due to the age of the server.
- Server 1 and 4 are non-PVP (player-versus-player), so you cannot PK (player kill)
another person on those servers.
- Check out the servers below: The bars tell you how full a server is. If a server is full,
then it shows up highlighted in red (like Wigle-1).

It is your choice in the end!

Once you chose a server, select it and log in with your username and account password.

Dark Knight (DK)

This is a basic character class. The one with the most equipment, they are excellent hand-to-
hand, in-your-face characters. Easiest to learn with, these characters start in Lorencia, and have
a easy time leveling initially, although they will slow considerably later without parties. This
class is great for beginners, or decently fast leveling to get to the MG. A medium-cost character
type. Character can use skills on non-bow weapons, cannot use bows or staffs, can use shields,
and can dual-wield single-handed weapons (with a 10% damage bonus when doing so). They
have the best armors and weapons in the game.

The primary stat for this class is Strength.
The Chaos weapon for this class is the Chaos Dragon Axe.
Second level DKs (after completing the first quest) are called Blade Knights.

Starting Stats: STR 28 AGI 20 VIT 25 NRG 10

Formulas:
Max Physical Damage =STR / 4
Minimum Physical Damage =STR / 6
Base Defense rate =AGI / 3
Base Defense =AGI / 3

Base Skill Damage =200% +1% * (NRG / 10)
Agility gage =STR * 0.15 +AGI * 0.2 +VIT * 0.3 +NRG * 1

Each level, gains 2 points of life, 0.5 points of mana automatically.
One point of Vitality adds 3 Life, One point of NRG adds 1 Mana

Dark Wizard (DW)

This is a basic character class. They are the hardest to start with, as the DW has the worst initial
attack and the worst health of the initial character types. However, they are essential at high
levels, and have the best damage-to-effort ratio of the game at high levels few can take over a
screen like a high-level wizard! This class starts in Lorencia, but on average attacks mobs 3-10
levels below a comparable elf or DK. They wield some weapons, mostly staffs, and shields.
This is a high-cost character for the simple reason that at high levels you still go through mana
pots like water, and defense is always lower than any other class.

The primary stat for this class is Energy. Their primary weapon is skills, and their staffs boost
their spell damage.
The Chaos weapon for this class is the Chaos Lighting Staff.
Second level DWs (after completing the first quest) are called Soul Masters.

Starting Stats: STR 18 AGI 18 VIT 15 NRG 30

Formula:
Maximum Physical Damage =STR / 4

Rings of Warrior and Fighter
These are rings that are created with a new account and new character now (since the advent of
Mu v.99).

They automatically appear on newly created characters, and they cannot be sold, traded, or

At level 40, you can drop the Ring of the Warrior on the ground. It will drop an item or zen.

At level 80, you can drop the Ring of the Fighter on the ground. It will drop an item or zen.

Items dropped will range from +5 to +9, with any number of options. Non-excellent.
It is possible to drop zen or jewels (C,S,B).

Gameplay

Once you create your characters, it is time to start the game!

This section tells you how
everything on the screen looks and
acts. Some functions in the game
are not available until you get to
level 6. Others are available only in
certain parts of town.

Select your character and hit OK to
bring them into the world of Mu!

If you need to quit or change characters or servers, hit ESC and select the appropriate option(s):

If you are level 5 or less, you start in town every time you log in, so you did not die when you
logged off. If you are level 6 or higher, you start wherever you were last when you logged off or
changed characters or servers.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 48 -
Lets start with the screen you see initially before even moving around town.
Lower Screen / Hotkeys / Skills
Lets look at the bottom of your screen first.

There are a few parts to this screen (yours will look different from mine).

This is your command menu button up top. Hit D to bring it up as a hotkey.

This is your current coordinates on the map you are on.

A quick word on coordinates, since Mu is organized differently than a normal coordinate map.

My North is to the upper left corner, my South to the lower right corner, East to the upper
right corner, and West to the lower left corner. Bottom of the map is to the Southwest,
Top of the map is to the Northeast.

X Coordinates get lower as you walk West, Y coordinates get lower as you walk North.

This is your health jewel. It will rise to maximum health (as is now) or
look less filled, if you are injured. It will only regenerate if you are in
town sitting down or leaning against the wall, or if you are carrying an
%HP regeneration ring.

To lean against an object or sit, look for you cursor to change (like
and then click once. The character will then move to the object, if its a
wall, or if it is a chair, you can sit down on it (some other objects can
also be sat or leaned against).

This is your mana jewel (blue) and your agility gage (purple). They work the same way as your
health bar. They regenerate slowly with time.

MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 49 -

This is your friends (chatting window) button. You must be level 6 to open this window.
The lower button is your guild button. (more on that later).

This bar is your experience bar. If you put your mouse over it, it highlights the amount of
experience you have. You need to fill this bar 10 times to gain a level. The number of times you
have filled the bar is in the parenthesis to the right.

The tips & hints bar will show up right above that and scroll across the window.

These are your quick keys. You set them buy highlighting a useable object with your mouse in
your inventory, and press CTL+Q, W, or E. That will set the hotkey as the item. Here I have
health potions (red, Q), mana potions (normally blue, W), and town scrolls (E) set. If you do not
have items of that type in your inventory at the time, they will remain blank (like my W).

The number in the corner tells you what kind of item is in the slot to be used. All healing potions
and apples are considered in the same slot, and all mana potions (no matter the size) are counted
into the same slot. These settings are retained from session to session (persistent).

To use an item in your quick list, just press the key (Q, W, or E) associated with it. Be careful!
There are some delays associated with this, too, so pressing a little early isnt bad. Press more
than once, and you use more than one of the item (if you have more than one!)

This is your skills/spells/summons button. Left-click this once to bring up a selection of your
skills (highlighted as little rectangular images). If you cannot use a skill/spell/summon, it will
show up in red, as highlighted here (this happens to be the impale skill). If you highlight the
skill with your mouse, it will bring up the information on the skill/spell/summon in question.

To set a skill with a number, open the list, and hit CTL+#, where #is any number from 1-9 or 0.
That will set the spell/skill hot list to 1-9 or 0. To switch to the skill/summon/spell, just hit the
appropriate number. The first one learned is always to the left, the last to the right. It always
defaults (when you start up Mu) to the last skill learned, but it does remember your settings, so
remember that if you suddenly get disconnected and need to get back into the game (persistent).

- 50 -

Right above your space if you move your mouse over it is your transparency adjustment (right),
window size adjustment (shortcut key F4, middle), and chatting display on/off (shortcut key F2,
left).

These are three buttons for use in your normal wear.

The first one is the Party button. This brings up the Party screen. You
can also use P to shortcut. The second one is the Character button. This
is about your Character, shortcut key C. The last one is your Inventory
button. You can use I or V as a shortcut to your Inventory, too.

Lets start with your character.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356

Character
This is your character screen. It tells your name
(top), your server (and if it is non-PVP), which
city you are in (fades with the server name),
your level, experience, spare points, strength,
damage, rate, and all the rest of your stats.

These numbers are after any modifiers and after
you put on anything item wise.

This is also where you
can increase your stats
when you level (little
red (+)) signs will
appear and you can add
to your stats.

The bottom icons tell you to Close the Character
screen (X), Quest status screen (T), and Pet
screen (for DLs, not in global yet!)

Inventory
Go ahead and let us explore your Inventory.
Hit the button or use the shortcut keys. This
can be on at the same time as your character
screen.

You can see all the spaces for wings, helms,
swords and shields, armor, pendants, two rings,
gloves, boots, pants, and a little dragonfly
symbol at the upper right that is what you can
place special items like angels, imps, and horns.

You have 8x8 or 64 spaces for inventory that
you arent wearing. Items will take up varying
shapes and sizes, so inventory management can
be crucial.

You can personally carry a little more than 2
billion (that is 2 thousand million for the Brits
out there) zen on your character at any point in
time.

The little X in the corner closes the window, or
you can hit your hotkey again to close the
window.

Later on, when you get above level 6, you will
get a personal store (accessible when you have
the inventory open, hit the S key) and a
personal Repair (R) option at level 50.

The personal store can be used as storage it contains another 8 columns x 4 rows of space.

Stores will be discussed later.

Note: To wear an item, you must be the right class, and have the requirements listed on the item!

Chatting
What is a multiplayer environment if you cannot talk to people? It is now time to explore how to
talk to people. Of course, you may want to limit chatting if you want to stay alive in tough areas
on the other hand, if you are an old pro, this is what you do while AFKing or waiting as an EE.

You have several options. The first is just a normal Chat. People on your screen and a slight
area around it see this.

Press [Enter] once.

That brings up a chat window. Type whatever you like and press [Enter]. Viola! You have
now typed and spoken in the world of Mu.

To Whisper (directly chat with someone), you need to be level 6. You also need to be on the
same server and server group as the recipient. To whisper, put the name of the person in the
second box and then enter your message. It will be sent to that person and that person only. To
temporarily turn off whispering, hit the little ear button to the right of your message window.

You can also whisper while the text cursor is on the target name field (use tab after pressing
enter), right click the name on the received message or from the friend list.

Messages whispered show up as a yellow box in the corner.

Guild messages show up with a green box around them, and guild posts (usually by the guild
master) are shown in the center of the screen.

Party messages show up in a blue box.

You can Whisper from the Command window (hotkey D).
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 54 -

Quick chatting tips & hints!:
- Sometimes there is a lot of noise (extra clutter) in the talk at the corner. You can use the
F2 key to turn off scrolling the talk items, and then use whispering to get even more
specific.
- Use a #sign at the beginning of your comments to extend their time on the screen (it
holds it for an additional few seconds useful if you combine with a macro
- To talk in a party, use the ~(tildes) sign at the beginning it will type only to your party
members.
- To talk to a guild, use the @ (at) sign at the beginning it will type only to your guild
members.
- Any official MM announcements will always be in gold in the lower center of the screen.
Do not respond to these; they are only announcements, so they will not hear you.
- If you need to repeat things, use macros. To use a macro, type
/#message goes here (without the quotes), the #a number between 1-9.
To use the macro, hit ALT+#, where the #is the #of the macro you want to use.
Example: /1 #Selling Chaos
- Macros are lost when you exit the game.
- Hit the F4 key to
change the size of the
chatting window (by
default, its
minimized). Hit F4
multiple times to
change through the
different sizes (I
recommend only in
town unless you can

- Emoticons are actions when you type certain things. Look at Appendix V for a list.
- Multiple conversations may be engaged via PM. If you tab into the smaller window, you
can hit your up and down keys to save names and move between conversations. Until a
group chat function is available, thats an easy way to get a few conversations started
(courtesy of vortah).

Friends
After level six, you have access to a friends list, where you can add people and access personal
Mu mail and mu-ssenger messages.

Hit the F key to shortcut to it.

As you can see, you can add
friends (case and
capitalization is important!),
delete them, chat with them
or write a letter (cost: 1000
zen) to them.

Your letter box holds old
messages, and your window
list tells you whom you are
chatting with.

It tells you where your
friends are, and you can also
chose to refuse chat from all.

Bug notice! Mu messenger is buggy sometimes it tells you they are on when they are not, and
sometimes it just does not recognize the names.

When you get a message, this appears in your friends box:

You can Add a Friend from the Command window (hotkey D).

Movement
Ah, but what good is conversation if you cannot get anywhere? The most
common form of movement is walking. You can only walk in safe zones
like towns.

MU provides unique motions and actions that are not
available in other games. Complicated motions such as
leaning against a wall or sitting on a chair are possible in
this game. These executable motions and actions are not
merely for show, but it has an effect of restoring the
physical strength of the game characters. In order for
physical strength to be restored automatically, taking a
breather is the only valid way, except for maybe the use of the Recovery
Ring. The act of leaning and sitting is not possible in every instance. The
visible look of the mouse cursor changes where special motions are possible,
such as protruded walls or chairs.

If you have acquired any boots that have a level of 5 or more, adventurers
will be able to run in MU. If you click a point far away from a characters
starting point, it will begin to run. Running allows a character to move at
twice the speed of walking. Note: running is not permitted in town areas.
Movement in towns can only be achieved by
walking.

In the land of MU, a unique method of
transportation using an item called the
Unicorn is possible. By acquiring and
equipping a horn of Unicorn, one can travel at
a speed faster than running. You can acquire
a Unicorns horn through hunting or through
purchase from other adventurers.

A quick note any gloves +5 will allow a user to swim in Atlans (like running), and any wings
will allow a character to fly (requirement for Icarus). Dinolants/dinorants also have flying skill.

Following another character is possible, too. You can select Follow from the Command menu
(shortcut D) and then right-click on the character you want to follow (useful for following
people to places you do not know!).

Many worlds have a minimum level* to enter. Here are some of them:
Lorencia level 10 from Noria Noria level 10 from Lorencia
Dungeon level 20 from Lorencia Dungeon 2 level 40 from Dungeon 1
Dungeon 3 level 50 from Dungeon 2 Davias level 15 from Lorencia
Altans level 60 from Noria Lost Tower level 80 from Davias
Icarus requires wings/dino & level 160 Tarkan level 130 from Atlans
Arena can only be warped to after level 50

See the locations of NPCs and gates in Appendix VI.
*Magic Gladiators can move through worlds with only 2/3 of the level limit required for other characters.

Warping

Once a characters level is over 50, teleportation between
worlds is possible. You can move from point to point by
walking or with the use of the Unilia, but traveling by
these methods is often tedious and time consuming.
Therefore, adventurers with a level over 50 can take
advantage of traveling by teleportation. Use of this
movement command is quite simple. However, each area
has certain level limits dictated by your preferred choice
of either walking or by application of the teleport
movement command.
/Warp World Name EX) /Warp Davias

An alternative is to draw up the Warp Command Menu
(shortcut key - M). It will show you which warps are
available.

The required level to warp is there.
*Magic Gladiators can move through worlds with only 2/3 of the level limit required
for other characters.

The ones not available to warp to (because you are either
phono or are not the appropriate level) are highlighted in
red, including the cost of the trip (in zen).

To start a quest, go to the Priest Sevina in
Davias, by the North Gate.

There are two quests currently in Global. That
is to become a second-level character (for DKs,
DWs, and elves only), and requires that you are
level 150, and the second is a quest at level 220
for character leveling point increases.

Guilds
Guilds are a great way to make friends and get
help and constant parties. A good guild master
can keep active membership and happy
members.

To make a guild, you go to the guild master in
Davias, and you create a guild there when you
are level 100 or higher.

You can have 1 person in your guild for every 10 levels you have. Dark Lords can add 1 extra
person for every 10 Command points.

To remove yourself from a guild, you need your 7-digit passcode! Youll need it also to disband
the guild.

This screen will show you all the members, if theyre on, and what server they are on.

To enter a guild, type /guild in front of the guild master you want to join and you can join the
guild. Guild wars between guilds and battle soccer in the arena can be fun or painful.

A troubleshooting note:
If you cannot create a guild because it does not let you (database full), that is a common bug.
Create your guild right after a reset (apparently, there is a size limit on the number of guilds
possible). Be quick, though! There are many people trying to do the same thing. Know what
logo you want, what your name should be (>3 letters), and be prepared to be rejected if you
move too slowly!

Guild leaders against other guild leaders initiate Guildwars. Guild members do not initiate them.

You can get to this from the Command window (hotkey D).

More Guild Commands and Alliances are in the Appendix.

Parties
Parties are essential for leveling to the highest
levels. Solo players cannot deal with future
maps and monsters alone.

To party, one person (the party leader), should
highlight the player they want to party with, and
type /party in the message box and press enter.

The other player can accept or decline. The
party leader can add up to four other players.

If you have three different types of characters
(DK, DW, MG, DL, elf) in the party, then the
party gets an XP bonus. Each added party
member also increases XP, but to a lesser
extent.

When forming parties, the level differences
between players are limited to 130.

#in party XP Bonus Drop Bonus
1 person 100% 100%
2 people 120% 120%
3 people 140% 160%
4 people 160% 180%
5 people 180% 210%

To quit a party, come to the party window (P)
and click on the red X by your name.

Etiquette note: There are rules involved when
approaching a player with the motive of creating
a party. It is proper etiquette to first address the
player and request permission to send an
invitation for party play before actually sending
one.

Hint: If you do not want requests bombarding you, type /request off at the message box, and it
will quit showing you the requests. This also turns off trading requests, too!

Level gaps of 130 or more are not allowed in global.

You can also party from the Command window (D).

Trading is the lifeblood of Mu. More so than leveling, because there is no way you can expect to

Trading vs Shops
Shops is a relatively new function in MuGlobal.
To look through a shop, they must have a
[Store] sign above their heads, and you can go
to the Command Menu [D] and select Buy.
Then right-click on the user you wanted to buy

Selling in Personal Stores

When you are level 6 or over, you can open your own personal store.

To access this, open your inventory, and then
hit the little button at the bottom that says
Store or hit the S key.

You can change the name of the store by
clicking on the green text box.
You can change prices of items by right
clicking and entering a price between 1 and
99,999,999. It is a 4x8 space.

In order to open the store, you must put a price
on everything there and name the store (or it
will give you an error).

Switching servers or characters will cause
your prices to be forgotten. You will have to
re-enter the prices.

Warning: If you have max zen on your
character, you cannot sell anything. (it will
say your inventory is full)

Use the personal store to AFK and sell items
worth less than a couple chaos. Items worth
more than that should be sold directly via
macros and trading.

Try to keep your sales informative a title of
Sale! rarely sells all its items. In the same
regard, look around at the market and make
sure you are not overpricing things. Countless
times, I have seen something well too high for
anyone of the level appropriate to use it to buy
it.

Warning: Please check the prices of items
that you are vending on your store as items
sold in this manner are considered final transactions

Normal Trading Starting a

To start a normal trade, stand right beside the
person you wish to trade with, and type in
/trade without the quotes. That will bring
up the trade window.

The top player will be the other player usually,
and bottom player is almost always you.

You have an 8x4 space to trade in. Anything
too large, and you have to do bunches.

Tip:
If something costs more than 32B, condense
your jewels using the NPC in Davias just
south of the Priest. Combinations of
10,20,and 30 Bless, Soul, or J oL are possible.

In the right upper corners of each players
box, you can see approximate levels (About
10, 50, 100, 200, or 300).

The coin symbol in the bottom left is to give
zen. The circle is to accept, and the X is to

Common Trading Scams

There are unscrupulous traders out there, too. Amongst their tactics include item switching,
selling items to you that are less than perfect, or just taking advantage of you. As they say,
caveat emptor buyer beware!

Let us look at some of the more common versions:

Elven Axe+skill

This actually shows up more often than I thought it would.
Elven Axes do not have skill. Do NOT pay more than
market price of the same axe without skill.

Elves cannot use skill, and the dragon DK in the picture was
trying to sell it for several bless an item normally worth
selling only to the NPC or buying for 25k in zen.

How to prevent this?
Know which items have skill and which do not, and
recognize that elves cannot use weapon skills, only bow
and shield skills.

Damaged Items

There are actually two varieties of the damaged item trade. One is the item is damaged (a
warning will show and the item will have very little durability left (anything under 10 durability
usually gives a warning). This is not usually a problem with weapons, armor, or shields, as they
can be repaired at the blacksmith, or when you get high enough in level, repaired by yourself (for
zen, of course).

The second variety is selling a very low durability item for nearly full
price one that cannot be repaired! Angels, Imps, Horns of Unicorn or
Dinolant are non-repairable! These items are often used as cons sold at
face value but worth only a small fraction of the price! See the image at the right? The Unicorn
has only one life. Some unscrupulous person could try to sell this at full price (around 3-4C as of
this writing) but its only worth ~75k zen.

How to prevent this?
Double check the durability on all non-repairable items.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 69 -
Unusual Items
This comes about when an event item comes back onto the market. Things like Olives of Love
were sold at the Barmaid for 900 zen during Valentines Day, and then people came back
afterwards and sold them for many bless because they claimed it raised your stats permanently!

Remedies of Love, Olives of Love, Stars, Blue Hearts, Boxes of Kundun, and other special items
are all event items that come and go on an annual or more frequent basis do not overpay for
something unless you are a collector, and make sure you know what an item really does! Post a
check for it on MuHQs Chronicles section, for instance. Also, the Armor of the Guard (a
special armor that is for Chaos Castle) is useless at the moment, so dont buy it!

Chronicles: http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?showforum=4

How do you prevent this?
You must learn what items actually do when used. Also, asking around does not hurt, nor
does looking around in the archives to find out what something really is.
Item Swap
This may or may not happen with the damaged items. Often times, someone will be selling an
item, and during the trade, will take it out of the window and put it back in the window. Looks
the same, right? Wrong! Double-check to see it is the same item.

There are several variations of this trick.

Sometimes the durability is lowered (a full horn is worth much more than a damaged one!)

Sometimes the item level has changed (or options, here the ring loses its most valuable option
the +hit point regeneration, or even all its plusses altogether they all look alike!)

And sometimes, the item is switched for something far less valuable, but looks the same!
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 70 -

How to prevent this?
Always double-check the item if it disappears or the person cancels the trade and tries to
trade again.

Shafted!

This is a generic term for when you start a trade, and when you click on OK, they take out their
item and you get nothing for your trade! You just lose your item.

How does this happen? Well, lag can account for it. You can see these types of trade swindles
usually when they trade with you for a single small item usually a chaos or another jewel, and
their item keeps on disappearing. It is also common that they put one small item (single-square)
on the corner closest to their inventories.

Other common signs include over-paying for a trade. If someone wants to pay you a bless for
your short sword+1, you know you have someone that is either crazy rich or trying to scam you.

How do you prevent this?
This one is tougher to see. Have patience in any trade. If they want to sell, taking an extra 20
seconds or so will not be a problem. Also, have them hit OK first this only works sometimes,
as if you encounter someone trading with you with this same guide, they will want your OK!
Trust your instincts if it does not feel right, do not trade! If you see any of the warning
signs, then break off, Rogue Leader!

Trade Hacks

This is the hardest to detect, and the hardest to check for between trades. Usually this scam
requires using an outside program; they are virtually undetectable. The only ways you can check
for this is two look for two things first, make sure someone else is not screaming out XXX is
a scammer! and secondly, if a deal looks too good theyre trying, again, to pay you a bless for
that marvelous short sword+1 of yours! This does exist; however, it is often mistaken for the
Shafted! technique that many scammers use. It is extremely rare, and with the newer iterations
of game guard, this may not work anymore.

A common method to use this hack someone will ask to see your set (or pieces). Many have
lost parts of their set to this tactic. Be wary of people asking, no matter what the level.

Some other methods are people asking you if you have anything you would want to sell for a
jewel of bless, or another jewel. They are rarely trying to sell an item.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 71 -

How do you prevent this?
This one affects even the best traders there is no 100% foolproof technique to use unless
you stop trading. The best way is to watch out for things that look too good to be true.
Oftentimes, these people are too greedy, and trying to get someone to trade for them. So, the
ber-axe-of-control-over-all will not be evenly swapped with your minor-helm-of-dancing.
Also do not show anyone your set items. That will prevent them from others stealing it. There
are too many sob stories on this one.

Stupidity
Okay, this is not a normal trade scam. This is just plain stupidity when you trade away your
entire set for an Ale. That is just alcoholism. =P

Seriously, though, if you did not want to trade something, do not offer it!

Dupe it for you!
This is a trick by which they claim they will either
A) Duplicate/increase level of the item for you
B) Show you how to duplicate the item.
How to prevent: The first is just stupid. Do not hand anyone else your items.
The second is tough. They will do a trick that will work, looking as if they duplicated the item in
your inventory (involves some trading back and forth of a cheap item), and ask for you to give
them the copy which is actually the real item. The fake item (a cheap, say, bronze pants that
just changed into a pair of Exc. Plate pants, for instance), will be on your character. If you log
off and back on, it will return to being a pair of just bronze pants. Again, to prevent this: do not
exploit bugs, and never hand anyone any of your items. Log off and log back on to check if
something is a duplicate.
Others

Another common scam is to have one person/character stand selling something at a price below a
second character buying at a higher price. Its used mostly to sell an item and then the two
characters disappear and leave you with a hard-to-sell or overpriced item.

See Appendix XIV for further rumored scams.

About Town
It is time to look around town a bit. Whether starting as an elf in Noria, or all other characters in
Lorencia, there are several common features in most towns.

Bar
The barmaid sells Ale and in Lorencia, also the Town Scrolls. You can also find places to sit.
Lorencia bar is a common place to meet up for trades from MuHQ.

Merchants
Merchants are peddlers, stores, Pasi the Wizard, Potion Girl, Yoda,
Faerie, or just other salespeople on maps. The barmaid, blacksmith, and
more are common merchants on maps. A full list of merchants in the
game and locations is given in the Appendix VI: Coordinates.

You can sell any item at a shop by clicking, picking up an item and
clicking again on the shop. Items +5 and over will have a warning (it
will prompt you if you want to sell the item!).

To buy an item, click once on it. If your inventory is not full, it will
automatically purchase that item and deduct the appropriate amount of
zen from your character. It will not take zen from a vault, so you must
have zen on you to buy things.

MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 73 -

Each merchant sells slightly different things,
and has different functions. For instance, at
the blacksmith in Lorencia, you can see that
he sells various armors, weapons, shields
and has a few buttons at the bottom.

All merchants sell items at level 0 only.
They do not sell jewels, nor do they upgrade
your weapons.

The first two icons are to buy and sell items.
J ust click on items (as described above) to
buy or sell. The third is to fix an item
(cursor changes to a hammer, and you can
repair durability on an item with less than
perfect durability). The last option is to
repair all at once.

The Repair All cost is at the bottom of the
window.

Close your inventory to exit the store.

The merchants do not run out of items.

They do not run out of zen either =P

Doubles of items usually reference items
with and without zen.

When you are in this screen highlighting
over your items will tell you how much it is
worth to the merchant to buy it back.
Usually they buy items back at 1/3 of the
value of them selling it to you, so be careful
what you buy!

Note: Some of the merchants are outside of
towns or safe zones if you are on a PVP server, then you can be attacked while getting potions
or items!

The Vault

Two vaults in Lorencia, one in Davias, and one
in Noria hold extra items. Baz is shown above.

As you can see, there are plenty of spaces.

You can also store or take out zen (the first two
buttons).

It costs a storage fee to remove items the fee is
dependent on your level (it is not linear).

If you get a message while attempting to remove
items, check to see if you have any zen on you.
Even to withdraw zen, you need zen.

The last button locks your vault (you must
remember the number combination you punch
in, along with unlocking your vault requires
your 7-digit code!). This is a safety feature.

HINT: If you cant reach a merchant or the
vault, or a dropped item because there are too
many people around, then hold your ALT key down and you can then click on the
item/merchant/NPC.

Note: You cannot drop items while your vault is open, nor can you exit or switch servers or
characters.

Chaos Machine
Ah, something everyone wants to know about. You can make many things in the chaos machine.

To start:

Chaos Weapons

This is the most common use of the chaos machine.
You need at least:

1 item that has +4 level or better, and must have an option (either additional damage or
additional defense rate for shields)
1 chaos
at least 20,000 zen. (see note on zen below)

Note: Luck and skill do not count as options in the chaos machine.

You can place additional chaos and items in and they will give you a chance of success value
equal to:
1 chaos adds 2%
1 soul adds 4%
1 bless adds 5%
another +4+4 (+4+5 for shields) or better item every 7000 zen value at an NPC
(round up) is another 1% success chance rate added
you cannot put rings, pendants, scrolls, orbs, or boxes into the machine

For every 1% of chance of success, 10,000 zen are required.

The highest success rate is 100% in the window. However, this has been known to fail! It is
suspected that the highest actual success rate is 97%.

IF you should succeed, the output of the machine is completely random. It will generate a chaos
weapon (Chaos Dragon Axe [dk], Chaos Nature Bow [elf], Chaos Lightning Staff [dw]) with a
random level between +0 and +4, random option between +0 and +12, and random luck and/or
skill.

If you fail, jewels and zen will disappear, and items will lose levels (and possibly options).

Myth broken! Putting one type of item into the machine does not guarantee getting any
specific type of weapon out; it is completely random, as are the options and extras like luck
or skill.

MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 77 -
Wings First Level
To make first-level wings, its very similar to Chaos Weapons.

You need at least:

1 chaos weapon that has +4 level or better, and must have an option (additional damage)
greater than +0 (must be +4, +8, +12, or +16)
1 chaos
at least 20,000 zen.

(round up) is another 1% success chance rate added excellent items with options
are useful here
you cannot put rings, pendants, scrolls, orbs, or boxes into the machine

For every 1% of chance of success, 10,000 zen are required.

The highest success rate was 100% in the window. However, this has been known to fail! It is
suspected that the highest actual success rate is 97%.

IF you should succeed, the output of the machine is completely random. It will generate a pair of
wings (Faerie [elf], Devil/Satan [dk], or Heaven [dw]) with a random level between +0 and +4,
random option between +0 and +12, and random luck.

If you fail, all the jewels and zen will disappear. Items can disappear or be downgraded.

Myth broken! Putting one type of chaos weapon into the machine does not guarantee
getting any specific type of first-level wing out; it is completely random, as are the options
and extras like luck or skill.

Note: Wings, if you have them on and they go to durability 0, you do not fall out of Icarus.
You cannot take off wings in Icarus unless you have a dino equipped, and vice versa.

Requirement: Wings require a minimum at +0+0 to be level 180 to wear them!

Second level wings include Wings of Spirits - (also Butterfly Wings, Muse Elf), Wings of
Dragon (Blade Knight), Wings of Soul (or Archangel Wings - Soul Master) and Darkness Wings
(Magic Gladiator).

It requires

Any wing +4 or higher
1 chaos
1 blue feather (found in Blood Castle, Tarkan, and Icarus)
at least 20,000 zen. (see note on zen below)

You can place additional items in and they will give you a chance of success value equal to:

excellent +4+option or better excellent item(s) unknown percentage
you cannot put rings, pendants, scrolls, orbs, or boxes into the machine

If you fail, all the jewels and zen will disappear, too. Wings can disappear, or be downgraded.

You have a random chance of getting a BK, ME, SM or MG wing if you succeed.
Maximum chance of success is 90%.

2nd tier wings are like normal items and they can have three independent options.

No.1: Luck Option.

No.2: Excellent Option
It's possible to get up to one excellent option freshly from CM. Include:
+50+winglevel*5 HP
+50+winglevel*5 mana
3% chance to ignore target defense when striking.

Additional excellent option can be added into any item as a reward of being top in devil square,
it is possible to add the remaining excellent option, these can't be get from CM directly:
+50+winglevel*5 AG
+5 speed

The sixth excellent option has no effect since it's reserved for DL's cape only.

No.3: Normal option.
Same as every item you can increase normal option with J oL.
If it's +x+0, when you J oL it the outcome is randomly choose one out of two possibilities:

BK: +4 damage up to +16, or +1% HP recovery up to +4%
ME: +4 damage up to +16, or +1% HP recovery up to +4%
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 79 -
SM: +4 wizardry damage up to +16, or +1% HP recovery up to +4%
MG: +4 damage up to +16, or +4 wizardry damage up to +16 (thanks to BBRG for this!)

Any Wing+0+0 gives 18% without excellent items, +7+0 gives 20%, and +7+0+L gives 26%.
A Satan wing+1+16 gives 90%.

Dinorants / Dinolants / Dinos
To create a dino, you need to have

10 full horns of Unicorn
1 chaos
zen

It has a 70% chance, exactly, of succeeding. That is it no other objects (or it will fail).

Approximately 100 points of damage to you will result in loss of 1 point of health from a dino.

You cannot repair this. Once it goes to durability of 0 (from 255), it will disappear. If you are in
Icarus at the time, it is a free warp back to Davias!

Dinos also can have two out of three excellent secondary options, which include:
+5 speed
+5% absorb damage
+50 max AG

(Dino also have hidden excellent options similar to second tier wings but it is only available
when dino is directly dropped from special box/medal items)

Requirement: You must be level 110 to ride a dino!

+10/+11/+12/+13 items

Note: Failure removes the item from the game, try at your own risk.

To make item +10 you need a +9 item, 2 million zen, 1 Bless 1 Soul and 1 Chaos, and has a 50%
success chance (if with luck 75% chance of success).

To make item +11 you need a +10 item, 4 million zen, 2 Bless 2 Souls and 1 Chaos and has a
45% success chance (if with luck 70% chance of success).

To make item +12 you need a +11 item, 6 million zen, 3 Bless 3 Souls and 1 Chaos and has a
45% success chance (if with luck 70% chance of success).

To make item +13 you need a +12 item, 8 million zen, 4 Bless 4 Souls and 1 Chaos and has a
45% success chance (if with luck 70% chance of success).

Additional information by Sephiroth9999:

A little more information on what upgrading the items actually does... if
you're upgrading a item from +11 to +12 and it's a weapon (Sword, Axe,
Bow etc.) the weapon will receive 6 points added to its attack power. (An
item with an attack power of 40~50 will turn into an item with 46~56 attack
power). The durability of the item will also be increased by 5. A +13 item
will have its attack power upgraded by 7, and durability by 6. So say a +11
weapon has an attack power of 123~145, by the time it is +13 it will have an
attack power of 136~158.

For shields, a +12 shield will have its defense increased by 1 as always, and
their defense rate increased by 6, their durability will be increased by 5 too. For +13 shields, 1
will add to their defense and their rate added to by 7.

For armor, it is practically the same. Their defense will be upped by 6 for +12 items and 7 for
+13. The durability is also upgraded by 5 and 6 respectively.

Staffs will have 5% rise from +11 to +12, and 5% rise again when going from +12 to +13.

You can make fruits/potions of STR/AGI/VIT/NRG (J ewel of Creation+chaos+3M zen),

Fruit increases a stat by 0(fail)-3, and is randomly generated from a J ewel of Creation, and you
can only eat as many points as you have Spare Points left. After that, you cannot use one.
Combining to create Cape of Dark Lord
* Warning: Cape may drop when you get killed in PvP.
1. Talk with the Chaos Goblin located in coordinates (180, 100) in Noria.
2. Use the option Regular Combination.
3. In the 8 X 4 Chaos storage area, place:
o One (1) Crest of Monarch
o One (1) J ewel of Chaos
o One (1) First Stage Wing
o For the combination process, a specific amount of Zen is consumed. After
confirming the success rate, press the Combine button.
o +4+option or better option excellent items to increase success rate
4. Upon successful combination, item placed would be turned into a Cape of Dark Lord.
5. In the event that the combination fails, all items and Zen used during the process are
consumed.

Outside of Town
Locations
There are several maps in
Mu. Lorencia and Noria
are the two starting maps.
Davias, an ice-world, is
connected to Lorencia, and
Atlans, an underwater
world, is connected to
Noria. The Dungeon
extends from Lorencias
cemetery. Lost Tower is a
portal in Davias, and
Tarkan is at the end of
Atlans. Icarus requires
wings to enter, and is at the
end of Tarkan.

Most of these places have
level minimum limits
before you can enter them. It is to prevent grievous injury to players unable to survive those
maps. They say Mu is less than 20% complete! There are many maps yet to come to global,
from Kalima to event maps and Avarice Island and more!

For maps, visit http://www.muonline.com and http://www.muhq.com .
For a world map see: http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=929767 for
a more detailed map.

Maps are also in Appendix II.

Monsters, Experience, and Drops
So, how do you level? Simple, by killing monsters.

Monsters vary in strength and will re-spawn randomly in set areas on any map. Each map has
its own set of monsters (also called mobs), and monster statistics and locations can be found at
http://www.muhq.com (check out the links for each of the areas).

Experience for a monster has a range, and the total average experience from a monster has a
formula that is yet to be determined. If you are considerably higher level than the creature you
are killing, expect to get very little experience. At some high point, creatures will no longer give
experience.

Some monsters have ranged attacks and others will have close attacks. Special attacks also exist.

The weapon of a creature tells you approximately the speed, but it does not tell you the damage!
The ice queen, for instance, has an angelic staff in one hand and uses power wave, but does more
damage than a normal power wave! (and can shoot 3 waves sometimes!)

Drops of zen are the most common. Without bonus zen excellent items, you will always get the
experience+7 zen dropped. Periodically there are glitches that drop zen+1, zen+2, etc., all the
way up to zen+12 (which is just experience+7+the #of the plus on the zen). This is bonus zen,
which is relatively rare.

Item drops can be found in detail at the Mu Drops v2.0 page:
http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=148027

About 1 in 1200 drops is a jewel (if the creature drops a jewel). Item drops are slightly more
frequent, around 1 in 20 or 30. Excellent items are considerably more rare.

There is also a chance to get nothing dropped when you kill something.

Secondary effects from monsters include ice, lightning, poison, and throwback.

Helpful Tip: To pick up an item near you (a couple spaces away), you can hit the SPACE BAR.
Another Tip: To get to an NPC or item, hit ALT+click. That will get to something someone else
is standing on!

Formulas

Monster Range of Damage vs. Monsters (for Summons)
(Minimal Striking Power - Monster Defensive Power) ~(Maximum Striking Power -Monster
Defensive Power)

Actual Range of Damage from a Monsters Attack vs. Characters
(Monsters Minimal Striking Power [Character Defensive Power2]) ~(Monsters Maximum
Striking Power [Character Defensive Power2])

(* Hint every 2 points of defense decreases damage by 1)

Ring and Pendant Resistance Power
When attacked 10 consecutive times, evasion is calculated at the items level+1. However, when
equipping several items of the same property, the evasion rate of the highest-level item is
applied, not an accumulation of each items level rating.

For example, when equipped with 2 rings at level 3, the evasion rate of only one item, 40%
(3+1=4), is applied, not a 70% evasion rate. (3+3+1=7).

Attack and Defense Rates
The chance to hit a monster is approximately:
(Your characters attack rate) (Monsters defense rate)

Chance has a maximum value of 97%, minimum value of 3%

If you have a defense rate >~5.1 times the monsters attack rate, you will be missed 97% of the
time, and the 3% of the time you are hit, you will only take 20% of the damage.

See formulas at the Appendix XIII.

Luck
Luck stacks. Maximum damage is applied when luck is in effect and succeeds (damage in blue
color)

Excellent Damage
Excellent damage occurs when you wield one or more excellent items with the excellent damage
option. It is 110% and shows up as a green number.

Player Status (Heroes & Phonos), Player Killing
On any server, your player generally is a commoner. This means, you have not killed other
players yet. If you want to attack another player, there are two methods.

The first is to Duel. This is in your Command Menu (D). This allows you to attack each other
without changing your status. You cannot be attacked by others while in a duel.

Useful hint: To avoid getting PKed, you can Duel with a fellow party-member to prevent from
being attacked. You cannot hit mobs this way.
Note: You do not get experience for killing another player.

The second option is to hold down CTL and left-click on any person (including party members).
This causes you to force-attack whatever you clicked on (you can also force range attack the
ground, if you anticipate something being there as a DW or Elf).

If you kill another commoner, you will be warned (and people will see it on-screen). Your color
of your name will turn orange, and you will be a first-level murderer. A second kill, and you will
turn red, and become a murderer.

As a murderer, you cannot use the shops, and sentinels have a chance to attack you outside of
town. You have a higher than normal drop rate if you die, and you lose more experience. A
table is below in death and dying.

You are in murderer stage for 3 hours for every kill (maximum is something like 190 hours). A
third stage (max) or second stage murderer, referred to as being a Phono. Your name is in red.
Max phonos have their entire character in a dark red wash, including their weapon.

Heroes, on the other hand, have killed three Player Killers / Phonos (in stage two or higher).
This has the same duration as a Killer would. Heroes have their name in light blue.

To remove Murderer, you can wait the time (later versions, Pasi the Wizard in Lorencia will tell
you your time left), or you can go kill monsters (each monster you kill, the level of the monster
will be subtracted in seconds from your total time remaining kill a level 60 monster, it will
reduce your time by 60 seconds).
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356

Kill Stealing
This is generally impolite and frowned upon by veteran gamers. This is usually when a mob
already being attacked gets attacked by someone else.

Kill Steal zones are usually in effect for parties, or very high level characters with range.
Death and Dying
There are several ways of dying.

By monster, trap, or poison:
If you die by monster, trap, or poison, you have a chance to drop an item as
follows:
Heroes 1 in 32 chance
Commoners 1 in 16 chance
Killer (orange) 1 in 8 chance
Murderer (2
nd
stage) 1 in 4 chance
Phono (3
rd
, max stage) 1 in 2 chance
If you die by monster, you lose experience as follows:
Character Level Normal Warning Stage 1 Stage 2 / Phono
1~5 0% 0% 0% 0%
6~150 4% 6% 8% 10%
151~220 3% 5% 7% 8%
221~299 2% 4% 5% 6%
300+ 1% 3% 4% 5%

By another player:
If you die by another player, you have a chance to drop an item as follows:
Heroes 1 in 32 chance
Commoners 1 in 16 chance
Murderer (orange) 1 in 8 chance
Phono (2
nd
stage) 1 in 4 chance
Phono (3
rd
, max stage) 1 in 2 chance
If you die by another player, you do not lose experience.

When you die, you are automatically warped back to the closest safe zone town or warp point.

If you are less than level 10, you cannot attack other people, and other people cannot attack you.

Also, if you are level 10 or greater, you will lose a death fee of 1%. Best way around this is to
keep zen on a storage character on the same account it will only deduct from the character that
died, and the vault!

Special Events
Golden Budge Dragons (GBD)
Golden budge dragons spawn randomly on Lorencia, Noria, and
Davias, and respawn once an hour, approximately. You may
encounter more than one at a time.

They are approximately as strong as a Cyclops is.

They drop boxes of luck.
Golden Troop Event
Golden troop events are of several types. These are announced when a Golden Derkon (usually)
shows up. Red Dragons were also added to this event.

Golden Goblins show up in Noria or Lorencia. Drops a Box of Kundun+1. Slightly stronger
than a GBD, but they are still much stronger than a normal goblin.

Golden Taikans (Titans) & Soldiers show up in Davias. The Taikan drops a Box of Kundun+2.

Golden Derkons are gold red dragons. They show up on the map randomly in Lorencia, Noria,
or Davias (check out the announcement in gold). They are preceded by a golden dragon mob
flying overhead spewing fire (you cant attack or be attacked by them, so dont worry). They are
very very strong, and drop a Box of Kundun+3.

Golden Lizard Kings are stronger than the Lizard King, and they show up on the Atlans map.
They drop Boxes of Kundun+4.

Golden Tantallos drop Boxes of Kundun+5 and show up in Tarkan (not out yet).

Boxes of Kundun have a chance to drop excellent items. Otherwise, they are similar to upgraded
boxes of luck.

Red Dragons are dragons that show up in groups, up to three at any time I have seen.
Approximately the same strength but far fewer hit points than a Golden Derkon. They drop zen
or a jewel of soul or bless or rarely chaos.
White Wizard Event
This is a recent event. A White Wizard (dropping a bless, or rarely a soul) and horde of Black
Orcs (which drop rings of wizardry).

The Ring of Wizardry (you can only hold one of these at a time, per character, and cannot repair)
Increases Wizardry Damage, Attack Damage and Speed by 10% each, has a durability of 30, and
you cannot NPC, trade, or put this in the vault.

Devil Square

Requires a Devils Square invite, and this is created in the chaos machine using Devils Eyes,
Key, and Blood Bone with a chaos and zen. Quality of the items determines which squares of
Devils Square you can go to. When you have the invitation, it will count down. When it is
done counting down, talk to Charon. He will warp you there. Be prepared! It is a large area
filled with mobs. More details later.
= (invite)
Blood Castle

This area event requires a cloak of invisibility to
enter. You need a scroll of Archangel and a few other
ingredients plus a chaos to create a cloak. You have
to fight your way across a bridge filled with high-
level mobs (almost like Tarkan, except packed), and
then break down a door with many hit points. Once
you get through the door, Blood Castle-only mobs
appear in massive quantities. Kill them, and attack
a massive coffin. Multiple layers have to be
destroyed and at the center is a Cup. Get the Cup,
and fight your way back out. This has a time limit.

The mobs inside the Blood Castle can drop the blue
feather for second level wings. This is extremely
rare, though.

Return the cup to the Archangel, and he will give you a unique weapon for your class.

Other Events
There are future events and special events from the past, including Valentines Day events,
cleanup events, and competitions from the MMs, from screenshots of Lucky Zen to stories by
actual players with MGs.

While some of these events are unbalanced, and difficult for new players or low-level characters
to accomplish, some are actually highly entertaining like the hearts of love event that failed to
actually produce a heart of love.

The future events to look forward to include Devils Square and Blood Castle both of which
require invitations.

Jewel Hunting
A lot of Mu revolves around the 8 sealing stones, the jewels of the game. These are the heart and
soul of the currency system, much like how zen is the equivalent of cents, and jewels are the
paper bills.

There have been a lot of conflicting ways to go jewel hunting.

J ewel drops are a fixed rate. It is supposedly 1 out of 1200 drops will be a chance to drop a
jewel. If the chance succeeds, but the jewel percentage fails, then multiple zen drops appear.

As Concilio notes:

- Kill more instead kill stronger. The jewel drop rate is fixed so to have more chances u
must kill more mobs.

Ex: J ewel Drop Rate =1%, if you kill 100 mobs you get one jewel if you kill 1000 mobs
you get 10 jewels. As statistics says: The bigger your population the most accurate the
probability. This is why souling one item has nothing to do with luck it is the average
over many trials, not just one or a few.

- Do not worry about the jewel drops. Concentrate in leveling, not the jewels. Levels are
more important than jewels. I see more players quitting Mu due to stolen accounts than
due to lost items. I am not saying "forget the jewels", I just say "think in leveling and
jewels drop by their own weight"

J ewels drop from the following:

Chaos: Liches and up in Lorencia, Chain Scorpions and up in Noria, and all mobs in Davias and
Atlans and Dungeons.
Bless: These drop from a Cyclops or higher in level.
Souls: These drop officially from Ghosts and higher level mobs. However, there have been
reports of it dropping from Cyclops.
Life: These drop in Atlans and higher.
Creation: These drop in Tarkan and higher maps.

A couple popular locations include the Ghost Room in D1, Bull Room in D2
(http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=975951) and EY fields in
Davias.

right to determine what patterns of behavior are defined as "high-maintenance" or "disruptive" and may
take action against the account(s), ranging from a simple request to moderate the high-maintenance
behavior, to total lockout of all linked accounts.

Appendix VII: Ethics

This is, in the end, only a game. However, there are some things in the game that do need to
have policing by the players themselves in order to allow a fair gaming environment. Some of
my own thoughts and beliefs are below; they are only the things I follow, and expect, not any
stringent guidelines.

1. Be polite.
2. Ask before you try to party me. If I say no, please do not try to party me. See one.
3. Ask for buffs politely, and if I refuse, please do not PK or KS me. See one.
4. Do not swear. This follows from one.
5. Do not abbreviate too much. You cannot be understood that way.
6. DO NOT TYPE IN CAPS. This is considered shouting, and impolite.
7. Do not PK new players or low levels. We were once there, too.
8. Do not KS. You KS when you attack the same mob(s) Im attacking.
9. Do not loot from my kills. I need that zen, too.
10. Please read. When I type B>, I am buying, not selling that item.
11. Do not cheat by using third-party (external) programs.
12. Do not cheat by exploiting bugs.
13. Do be kind to new players and give them junk.
14. Do not try to ask me for zen. You should be out killing things and getting it yourself.
15. Do not hack the database.
16. Do not try to duel me without asking first. If I say no, please go away.
17. Do not try to take my spot if I was there first. If I left, it is not my spot anymore, even to
repot, but if I am there killing things, that makes it my spot for now.
18. Do not PK my e-elf. They worked hard to get here, too.
19. Do not use pots in duels. That is both annoying and disrespectful.
20. Respect everyone. You never know who has a 3xx+level MG in the wings.
21. You are not god, you are not your items, and you are not your character. Do not try to
pretend you are.
22. Do not walk by and hit my monsters on your way past.
23. Do not wear your underwear backwards when you play Mu. Too uncomfortable ;)
24. Have fun. Make sure you go out and live life. Dont let Mu be your life.

You are not your level; you are not your items.
You earn respect by how you positively affect others, not by your possesions. [sic]

Appendix VIII: Items
Identification
When talking about items, the item is usually referred to as:
(Excellent) Item Name +X +Y (+options) (+skill) (+luck)

Excellent items have various options (see section below).
+X is the level of the item, this is related to Item Improvement Rules (later in this section).
+Y is the option of the item, raised by a J oL. This is always additional defense rate for shields
(increments of 5), additional defense for armors (increments of 4), and additional damage for
weapons (increments of 4).
+options are related to Excellence
+skill can occur on a majority of weapons and shields
+luck can occur on any armor, shield, or weapons

Jewels & Special Drops

J ewel of Life is a brown jewel, and is used to increase option of an item.
J ewel of Creation is a jewel when placed in the chaos machine creates fruit.

Also called a Horn or Unilia / Uniria. 20 points of damage to a
player drops the life by 1.
Also called a Guardian Angel, 20 points of damage to a player
drops the life by 1.
Dinorant or Dinolant, depending on which version you are in.

Dropping the item will result in nothing, zen, or
a non-excellent item drop (1/10 chance). http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71881

With a Satan equipped, your attack power is increased by 30%, although when
attacking a monster you will notice a reduction of strength by 3 points. Every
approximately 20 points done to a player does 1 point of damage to an imp.

Remedy of Love, Olive of Love
Special items sold at the barmaid during Valentines Day, these had a similar affect to Ale and an
elfs buff (respectively). Remedy is a pick potion with a heart on top, olive is like 2 green olives.

Blue Heart
These were dropped during the reward and MM introduction period. Similar to a slightly better
box of luck.

Heart of Love
Have never seen one traded or used. An item supposedly dropped on Valentines Day, not a one
fell (insofar as I can tell). Any one you find would probably be a fake.

Also known as a blue feather, drops in Tarkan and above from mobs level 78 and above (Iron
Wheel), Icarus, and Blood Castle. These are required for making second-tier wings.

Other special items include quest drops, boxes of Kundun, and more.

Items have a range of drop above their expected drop level, but never below. (ie. Regular items
drop at up to 3 levels higher than their lowest drop level, but excellent +0 items (always +0) drop
at the range of (base+0~base+4)+25 levels.
example: Pendant of Fires+0~4 drops at level 13~25. Excellent Pendant of Fire+0 drops at
level 28~42.

Set Bonuses
For a full set of armor, an MG must wear an MG set.
For a full set of armor, all other characters must have helm, armor, gloves, boots, pants of the
same set (ex: Bone, Legendary, Leather, etc.).

Bonuses are as follows:
For any complete set, you get +10% of the defense added to your defensive rate.
For sets at the higher levels:
(Full set bonus defense apply to lowest items wearing four +12 items and one +11 item will
cause you to have the +11 bonus).
+10: 5% of defense bonus to your defense.
+11: 10% of defense bonus to your defense.
+12: 15% of defense bonus to your defense.
+13: 20% of defense bonus to your defense.

Note!: Excellent items count as part of the non-excellent set. Therefore, a normal set of leather
with an Excellent Leather helm still counts as a set.

after use!

pendants, angels, horns, or
Options
To add options to an item, you require a J ewel of Life.
50% chance of success, irrelevant of luck.

If it fails, it drops the option to +0. If it succeeds, it raises the option to the next level (listed
below).
weapons/wings/armors (additional damage +0, +4, +8, +12, or +16),
or shields (additional defense rate +0, +5, +10, +15, or +20)
Other
Rings / Pendants for each additional level of ring, add 4 levels required to use, add 1 durability
point, add 1 resistance point, and add 3 levels to drop.

Myth Broken! There is currently no way to add luck, % health recovery, excellent options, or
skill to an item. This may change in the future, as there are 8 sealing stones (jewels), and only
chaos, bless, soul, life, and creation jewels (5 total) are known.

Items to Obtain

You need to find a Ring of Honor,

and then a Dark Stone (BK only). This is to be able to do a Combo.

Give both items to Marlon.

SM & ME have only one part to obtain the Ring. SM will then be able to use Nova.

All these items are found in Tarkan, from Mutants and up.

Combo
After the quest, you can do the Combo as a BK it requires a weapon skill +orb skill +orb skill.

Ex: Upper Cut Skill +Rageful Blow +Death Stab
Ex: Twirl Skill +Twisting Slash +Rageful Blow

This requires two unique orb skills and you cannot use the Orb of Greater Fortitude in-between.
You must use each orb skill only once in succession in order to do combo damage.

Note: You can do as much sword skill as you would want but you can only do 1 of each of the
orb skill to activate the combo damage (you can see these as streaking splash effect with high
double damage to mob or player).

Death Stab is used last in PvP, typically because it is a fast skill. Twisting Slash or Rageful
Blow may be used last in order to do area damage.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 136 -

Combo Success Damage(D):(Strength stats +Agility Stats +Energy Stats)/2)

Multiple attacks on all the monsters in the attack range occur with a success (which should be
100% with combination).

Misses using the skills are irrelevant (you just have to use the skill once).

[skill A] Turn around/Lunge/Uppercut/Falling Slash ( Choice of one )
[skill B] Twisting Slash/Rage of Blow/Death Stab ( Choice of one )
[skill C] Difference of the Skill B Choice (Note 1-3)

(1) Skill B When Choosing Twisting Slash : Skill C will be either Rage of Blow or Death Stab
(2) Skill B When Choosing Rage of Blow : Skill C will be either Twisting Slash or Death Stab
(3) Skill B When Choosing Death Stab : Skill C will be either Twisting Slash or Rage of
Blow.

Note) Critical Damage applies only when all skills are used in exact time.

When other skills are applied (Impale, Rade Shoot, Swell Life, Defense Skill) combo
combination will be deleted.

Combo Conditions: Skills has to connect in 2 seconds
(Failure when 2 seconds pass)

Skills should be put in order of use as hotkeys 1, 2, 3 for
instance.

Appendix XII: Detailed Guild Information

Type these in for:

@>Guild Notice!
.. for guild notices, and

@>
.. use a space to clear the notice.

/war GuildName
.. for guild wars/soccer

Guild members are designated:
[GuildName] Guild Position
charactername

Guild positions include Guild Master, Assistant Guild Master, Battle Master, and Guild Member.
AGMs, BMs aid during Castle Siege.

A guild vault may come into play later, it is not implemented in the first revision of Mu 1.0.

Appendix XIII: Alliances and Hostilities
Guild Alliances
Alliances are groups of up to 3 guilds that band together. It requires the acceptance of the other
alliance guild(s).

Alliance character names are displayed with
<AllianceName>
[GuildName] Guild Position
charactername

@@Alliance Notice!
.. for alliance notices and chat

An alliance guild vault may come into play later, it is not implemented in the first revision of Mu
1.0.

To determine the main guild for an alliance the sub-guilds must be the one to request an alliance
with the main guild.
Main Guild - The main guild's guild master will be considered the lord of the castle
when the alliance takes over the castle.
Allied Guilds - are considered support guilds or extensions that can help defend the
castle.

Allied guilds' names will appear in green to indicate your alliance to them.

A guild alliance allows guilds to form alliances with each other and is a requirement for a guild
to take over the dragon castle in the Valley of Loren.

Each guild is allowed a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 allies.

A guild that will undergo an alliance must decide who will be the main guild in their alliance as
the sub guilds will be considered subordinates of the main guild.
Guild Hostility

Guilds can now declare hotilities towards other guilds. When this is enabled all members of the
opposing guild will appear as they are flagged for PK and no penalty will be given for attacking
and killing members of the opposing guild.

Hostile guilds' names will appear red on your screen as if they were flagged as an outlaw.
Attacking and defeating hostile guild members will not flag you as an outlaw.

Appendix XIV: Miscellaneous Formula
DK Skills Formulas
Base damage: B
Enemy defense: D
Energy Point: E
Strength Point: S
Agility Point: A
Vitality Point: V

Weapon skill:

Impale:
=(B-D)*(210+E/10)%

Fire Breathing(Raid):
=(B-D)*(230+E/10)%

Death Stab:
=(B-D)*(230+E/10)%

Rageful Blow
=(B-D)*(240+E/10)%

Combo 4th bonus hit:
=(S+A+E)/2

Greater Fortitude:
=(12 +V/100 +E/20)% +1% for additional party members beyond the first
(which means for a full 5 ppl party +4%.)
Lasts 60+nrg/10 seconds.

Dual weapon bonus: 10% damage additional (x1.1)

Fire Slash: ?
Regeneration Formulas:
Mana: regenerate 1 for each 27.5 of mana
AG: regenerate =2 +(Max AG / 20)
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 140 -
Defense Rate and Attack Rate formulas:
A slightly more accurate formula proposed by dblazer is
Hit% =0.5 ^A * 100, where A =(def rate) / (mob level) 1
(A has a max value of 5)

A: defense rate from agility points, S: defense rate from shield, E: number of defense rate exc
option, B: armor set bonus rate

Total defense rate
=(A+S)*1.1^E+B

Total Rate of a +DR set would be:
(((Base Rate*1.1 rounded down)*1.1 rounded down) * 1.1 rounded down) etc..

Total Damage =Mob dmg Buff total Def/2 absorb
Total Def =AGI def +wings +shield +set
Absorb =Wings +Exc +DD options +Angels +Dino +Soul Barrier
AGI def is different for each char.
o MG =AGI/5
o DK =AGI/3
o Elf =AGI/10
o DW =AGI/4

If your defensive rate is significantly greater than the offensive damage rate, your total damage
taken is reduced by 80%.

Appendix XV: Guild Battle Soccer
Guild Battle Soccer

Command: /battlesoccer (guildname)

Another way for guilds to settle disputes in game is through a battle soccer challenge. In this
game each guild consisting of 1-5 members on each team, formed as a party, can meet on the
field and score points to try and defeat each other.

Scoring can be declared by killing the other team's players (available only in PvP servers) or by
scoring points by hitting the ball into the other team's goal.

* Each goal is worth 20 points.
* Each player killed is worth 1 point (available only in PvP servers).
* First team to score 100 points wins.

You cannot do Battle Soccer if you have an Alliance on.

Appendix XVI: Rumors
Some rumors have floated about of tagged items, that is, items given freely and thus people
then trace it your character. This requires access to the database, though, or at least some kind of
trace on the item itself (through a virtual tag or packet filtering). Extremely difficult to do,
unlikely anyone would go to such lengths in a game (you could be out there making serious
money for a company if you can do this).

Another concern is a special type of trade hack where they take everything out of your inventory,
but leave your store and worn items alone. This is yet to be proven.
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 143 -
Appendix XVII: Bugs and Errors
These are bugs I may not have covered or may have covered earlier.

Inventory bug: An item sold or moved cannot be moved, appears still to be there. On a restart,
change character, or change server, the item will disappear.

Wing bug: Ability to go into Icarus without wings or a dino.

Misspellings: All over the place; Dungoen, Leathre, 22nd level murderer, etc.

Quest Bug: Problem in v1.0. Fix at http://muhq.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=203020

Warp Hiccup: Every time you warp to a new map, you hiccup initially, causing you to fly back
to the point of warp.

Walking through walls: Periodically you get thrown to a
different part of the map, when killing a mob and passing
through a portal (like in the dungeon or LT). You will walk
through every obstacle in order to get back to your original
position. Most common with DWs (teleporting) and DKs
(skilling) or anyone hit by lightning.

Item Bug: Periodically, though less frequent now, an item on you will
change into something radically different. Here, a pendant changes into
an Excellent Red Spirit Helm+15+L+DD+Ref. This is common with
krisses of all sorts.

Appendix XVIII: Dark Lord Guide
Courtesy of wests and BBRG

There are two common types. Battle and command.

Battle are those build with just enough energy for fireburst, and the rest STR and enough AGI for
armor. Not AFKers, but can get rich in Chaos Castle 3 or less.

Command pumps STR and AGI to armor of choice and weapon, and then increases COM.
These equip a raven and a horse and are typically guild leaders due to additional members (max
80) allowed. 995 is the max (level 50 raven) for COM. These can AFK, though they are hard to
level until they get a Raven. NRG up to requirement of summon scroll. Rest to VIT.

Fireburst is probably the best skill other than having a raven or horse.

Damage of a raven is based on its level, and scepters increase by a certain percent, and
command increases just the attack speed.

NRG and STR/NRG hybrid builds also exist.

Due to the nature of the character, it deals damage easily, but has very low defense and rate.

Set should be DD preferably with HP option the vitality is just for you to survive getting hit..
Level 1-10 raven can kill effectively in dungeon
Level 10-15 raven is enough for fast leveling in LT1-4
Level 15-20 raven is enough for LT7
Level 20 and above raven is already fast enough kill in Atlans and Tarkan

One AFK problem is most DL even at level 220 and above cant AFK in Atlans let alone Tarkan
due to low defense. VIT only compensates for a few of the hits and would be useful in Castle
Siege.

If you have a higher than level 25 Raven and up, leveling will slow to a crawl if your COM is
low.

Appendix XIX: Castle Siege Information

The Castle of Loren allows the Lord of the Castle to do several things, including:

hostility alliance of three guilds. The primary guild master of the primary guild on the defense
side is the Lord of the Castle.

Several skills are available only during castle siege, one to two per character type.

MG: Spiral Slash: (requires sword)

A.G use 15

MG: Mana Rays: (requires staff)
Skill dmg 357~502
Mana 130

merchant for 1.5m each.

Lords Mix
Q: What is the Lords Mix?
A: The Lords Mix is a special privilege given to the lord of the castle wherein it may be used in
the creation of Rare and Excellent High-end sets and weaponry. Items that are created in the
MuGuide v0.2a by blatin356
- 146 -
lords mix can never be found anywhere and cannot even be dropped by the highest level mob
within the MU continent.

Q: Where is the location of the Lords Mix?
A: The Lords Mix can be accessed by clicking on the Senior NPC inside the Dragon Tower or
"Throne room" of the castle (only the members of the united guild alliance that holds the castle
can access this area).

Q: How does the Lords Mix work?
A: Similar to the Chaos Machine in Noria, it involves COMBINING different ingredients to
create the Rare and Excellent High-End sets and weaponry.

Q: What are the ingredients/formula in COMBINING?
A: There is a determined standard for COMBINING in the Lords Mix, namely:
30 Jewels of Bless + 30 Jewels of Soul + 30 Jewels of Guardian + 1 Billion zens

Q: Do the results of the COMBINING vary everytime it is used?
A: Yes. Items created are RANDOM---maybe different or the same from the previous one.

Q: Are there any chances that the COMBINING will fail?
A: None. The Lords Mix gives a 100% success rate.

Q: Can everybody make use of the Lords Mix?
A: No. Only the Guild Master of the Main Guild of the United Alliance can use the Lords Mix

Q: How many times can the Lords Mix be used?
A: Only once (1) a day.

Appendix XX: Scams
There are a lot of people who want to get your items and characters and make you phono and
cry.

Best tips:
Never give your username, account ID, password or information out to ANYONE.

If you can,
Avoid using someone elses computer, especially a webcafs.

And if you suspect your computers been hacked, reformat and reinstall.

Here are some other things to watch for.

In-Game Messages
MMs do not message you. Do not think you are so special. Also, watch for all the fake names.
MMs are always dressed in excellent max sets, have great wings, and usually so shiny and ber-
looking that you cannot mistake them. Learn your MM names.

Emails
MMs may email you saying that you have to sign in to the website or send them your
information because you won something or will get something. Do not you are only
giving them everything.

Websites
That being said, always go to http://www.muonline.com by entering it yourself in a browser, and
double-check spelling! There are sites out there that capitalize on your misspellings and it
could cost you your account!

No, you cannot get free bless in your account, they will not level your character for free, and
they cannot change your stats around.

As a general practice: NEVER follow a link in any email.

Third-Party Programs / a.k.a. Cheating
Any time you use a third-party program, all bets are off. If you cheat, you are putting your
machine at the whim of someone else, because I am guessing you have no idea what that code is
or what it does. You are setting yourself up for being hacked, and your machine in a zombie
pool, information stolen and passwords compromised. And you are stupid.
