STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am very thankful for providing me this opportunity and it is with sincere sense of gratification that I pen
my brief statement of purpose. Pursuit of knowledge has always been my obsession and the propelling
force behind all my achievements.
My interest in Electronics blossomed during my high school years. It was the time when technology had
begun to make an impact on the lives of people in India. Hence an Engineering Degree with Electronics
as my major was the first choice for my undergraduate studies. Graduating from the reputed and
established Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, India, helped me to get sound
knowledge and a firm grasp over the principles underlying the course of Electronics and Communication
Engineering.
On successful completion of my graduation, due to boundless interest in the field of research and
teaching I took up the job of a Lecturer in Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology,
Peermade, India. As the saying “Teaching Means Learning Twice” implies, the job of lecturer helped me
to go deep into a wider knowledge in the field of Electronics. Now I intend on pursuing a practical oriented
program in Electronics Engineering, which I am confident, will augment my knowledge and skills acquired
during my undergraduate program and teaching profession.
As I came to know, Canada has an international reputation as a provider of quality education and that It
offers a safe learning environment which provides excellent study opportunities and support services for
international students, my motivation got stirred me up to choose Canada for my higher studies. I am sure
that the well-qualified and experienced faculty, excellent laboratory facilities, exceptional Co-operative
Education programs and the inspiration given to students at Seneca College would provide me with an
ideal platform for achieving my goals.
India is one of the few countries in the world whose tradition of scientific investigation is very ancient .The
need of today is to revive her ancient sprit and organized scientific research on modern lines so that the
benefits of the technology can be applied to the well being of the common man. To serve the needs of its
developing industry and more important its vast population, Electronics and Computer Engineering is
going to become of utmost importance. After completing my studies I would like to continue my studies
and to impart whatever knowledge I have received in my life to young generation by continuing my
teaching profession.
I am fully aware of the dedication and perseverance required in a demanding program, not to mention the
challenges of having to move to another country. I believe I have the aptitude, skills, merits and
motivation to do justice to the stringent demands of a practical oriented program. As an International
student and one who has held important office as a Lecturer, I am confident that I can contribute whatever
knowledge I have, to enrich the student community which is waiting for me there. Getting a taste of the
prevalent cultural and ethnic diversity will be but a highly appreciable perk of embarking on this journey.
