Forum [ Case in the field ] Description Since the spring came off the actuator of No.2 read sensor (PI11), the jam code "0094" persisted. - 0094 Jam Code: Power- on jam in the document feeder side. This machine is programmed to display this jam code when the document feeder starts picking up the first original, not immediate after switch-on of this machine. Field Remedy 1. Check if paper gets jammed at a sensor; if so, remove the paper. 2. Clean all sensors and then execute the following service mode: Service mode > FEEDER > SENS-INT. 3. If the symptom still occurs, check if the spring has come off the actuator of No.2 read sensor (PI11); if so, attach it again. 0094 Jam Code and message "Open the feeder cover." occur when using ADF [ Inspected by Canon Inc. ] Description Since the jam code "0094" and the message "Open the feeder cover" appeared when using the ADF, the reader controller data was entered again. - 0094 Jam Code can be displayed when the cover open/close detecting sensor of the ADF detects an unexpected opening of the cover. Cause Join Date: Location: Posts: Oct 2008 Davenport, Iowa 1,976 Post Thanks / Like Rep Power: 33 Since the reader controller data was corrupted, 0094 jam, which was not indicated under normal condition, was indicated. Field Remedy 1. In service mode > COPIER > Function > CLEAR > R-CON, select the OK key and turn the main power switch OFF/ON to clear the data of the reader controller PCB. 2. Enter the values of the service label (affixed to the backside of the reader front cover) into service modes. 2-1. Image read start position adjustment (X direction in fixed reading mode) Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > ADJ-XY >ADJ-X 2-2. Image read start position adjustment (Y direction in fixed reading mode) Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > ADJ-XY >ADJ-Y 2-3. Shading position adjustment (in fixed reading mode) Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > ADJ-XY > ADJ-S 2-4. Feeder mode main scanning position adjustment Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > ADJ-XY > ADJ- Y-DF 2-5. ADF stream reading CCD reading position adjustment Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > ADJ-XY > STRD- POS 2-6. Density manipulating value adjustment Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > CCD > DFCH-G2 Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > CCD > DFCH- G10 (After entering the values to these modes, be sure to execute service mode > COPIER > Function > DF-LNR.) 2-7. Original stop position adjustment (X direction in stream reading mode) Service mode > FEEDER > Adjust > DOCST 2-8. Original feed speed (magnification) adjustment Service mode > FEEDER > Adjust > LA-SPEED 3. Execute the following adjustments. 3-1. ADF sensor sensitivity adjustment Service mode > FEEDER > Function > SENS-INT 3-2. Tray width adjustment Service mode > FEEDER > Function > TRY-A4 Service mode > FEEDER > Function > TRY-A5R Service mode > FEEDER > Function > TRY-LTR Service mode > FEEDER > Function > TRY-LTRR 3-3. White plate data adjustment Service mode > COPIER > Function > CCD > CCD- ADJ 3-4. ADF white level adjustment Service mode > COPIER > Function > CCD > DF- WLVL1 Service mode > COPIER > Function > CCD > DF- WLVL2 Note: The white plate data adjustment must be performed prior to the ADF white level adjustment. A 0094 jam code can be generated by any paper path sensor in the document feeder. Returning the prism for PI7(DADF M1) / PCB2(DADF S1) to its proper position, resolved this issue. In this instance, a foreign object was found interfering with the flag actuator operation of PI11. The picture below shows the location of PI11. has been detected by a sensor in the paper path. The sensors that generate the code are PCB2 the Post separation sensor pcb, PCB3 the Read sensor, PCB4 the Delivery/reversing sensor pcb. All three sensors have the same part number FM2-1022-000.
